I understand you but I am not optimistic about this like you This person has written and essay here. Even if I see the best case scenario, they will unfairly rate it 1 because of the name...which might affect drama business (or writing other excuses in reviews to rate it low but actually, the name will be the primary reason ).
Besides, the male lead had just recovered from cancer and is woerking hard ..I was hoping that his new romantic drama will be massively popular...I don't want his drama to get attacked by religious fanatics. Poor thing! It will be so unfair..for him and for romance fantasy lovers like me.
If it wasn't this actor...I would say go ahead because I am not very religious myself and I am staunchly against blasphemy laws

I think they should change the name...I have a bad feeling about this. If they were chinese, they would be able to handle it but they are Koreans. They might get attacked...and I don't just mean ONLINE. IYKYK! I know atheists are able to think rationally and scientifically ...and yes, greek, roman mythology fantasization is common but let's be real...this is a different ideology. Look at the amount of offense they have taken. It might not be normal for an atheist like you but DO YOU SEE THE PASSION? What if someone more passionate go charlie hebdo on the cast or writer?
Like... Just cut the name. They should save themselves from the unnecessary war and attacks. Take a wise business decision

Buddy, no offense but I AM NOT A MUSLIM..or very religious. Atheists who like mythology will also be watching. So, we don't mind the name. I would appreciate if you don't force religious ideology down the throat of people in a fantasy drama. By religious logic
1) BLs / GLs/Queer content should also be disrespectful
2) Science fiction which believes in evolution theory is also disrespectful...

But we are here to enjoy content you see... And don't mind but MDL is mostly for chinese and korean content. Koreans aren't deeply religious and chinese...well, a lot of them are communists and Atheists. So, we hope that you let freedom of expression exist. Like people said, it's just a name the writers liked. Not that deep!

Seems like negative PR tbh! It's not like MDL has all oscar worthy dramas... MDL Dramas in general are mid to bad and according to that level, the female general is entertaining to watch. In fact, it's one of the better ones out there ...that have come out this year

I love the TLDR... And it's true. Anyone who romanticised grape, they need a therapist and you need to run away from them. No matter how much they say "it's fiction"....normal human with understanding of real love will get traumatised with grapist romanticization. Your trauma is what any rational and decent human will go through while watching this....
The ones who call it "funny and romantic" ...are just suffering from deep rooted internalised mysogyny and maybe... Stockholm sydrome

Welcome to the humane club where you are called weak for not being able to like a grapist and his "abuse" story. Where they are ready to compare barbarians of ancient times (game of thrones) to modern romances ...so that they can justify the deliberate abuse romanticization...but of course the quality of writing is nowhere as close...just the barbarians are like the male lead (and by making this comparison, they agree that the ML is just that)

All these are unfortunately common in people these days (especially celebrities). What is not helping is that a lot of these celebs get treated like slaves by their agencies and their managers cheat them.
It has become soo common. They should have personal lawyers at this point and they should get their funds checked by CAs (who are independent) tomake sure that they aren't being cheated. Too much pressure
