This was really a good series, but that's it. They were focusing on the cover, and I was expecting something deep. I don't know, maybe something as deep as Your Name Engraved Herein or Monster movies. They just didn't bother to keep us emotionally invested.
The description says they experience pain, suffering and joy. And yes I saw all that, but they didn't actually make me want to care more about them. They failed to convey emotions that would make us sympathize deeply with their characters. It's more about tell, tell, and tell. There's no showing.
And it's not about it not being BL for me. It's the lack of depth. The story is too lukewarm, it's like dipping your toes in a wannabe tornado or something.
This is not a very serious show, you can't expect deep storyline when the tittle is like that.
So, I've watched the show in one sitting. Really, there's no boring episodesm. Someone outside had to ask me why was I aughing like that. It has a really good comedy, no corny or cringe comedy.
I loved the mystery too. And how everything eventually came together, it kept me entertained. The villains were good too, and the execution was good. The acting was unexpectedly great, I'm also glad that Cha Eun Woo keeps on improving with his acting. You can actually see the difference from his previous work like True Beauty. He did so good in Wonderful World and he did good here too.
Park Eun Bin can never disappoint. She wears her characters like a second skin and delivers them perfectly, showing the difference with every character.
The only thing they should have maybe avoided was the hints of romance because they have zero chemistry as a couple. Friendship, yes but I didn't see any chemistry that could lead them to kiss.
The comedy so far here is kinda meh. It turned out to be a more seriously toned, somber drama. We'll see how it…
I'm afraid that would have been too cliché. She went through so much in her life that she leaned to protect herself and she's intelligent. She was rooming the streets like 1 and half episodes, confused and looking for answers. I think she adapted pretty well to the situation.
And I think the dynamics between the leads was done fair so far, it corresponds to their past. It's like fated doomed lovers who are currently doing anything to survive in this life.
And this is how you open the series! intriguing from the first episode, the second episode didn't fall flat after the strong start. Now this will be the first drama this year that I'll be following throughout its airing. Cannot wait for more!
This should have been locked in a basement. But I'm glad it aired so I can know that it's trash and is not worth waiting for. All that fighting for this series for it to be like this?
Jeff and Barcote's talent was wasted in this thing. The only good thing this series gave us was thr pairing we've missed. Other than that, everything is a miss.
There's no chemistry between SeAh and HaJun, they feel like friends (that they are) than a couple so shipping them is like forcing the SML syndrome agenda even when it's unnecessary. Her chemistry with Geonu was visible from the get go, so I was satisfied with their relationship.
And honestly, there was so many plot holes in this show that it was frustrating, so you just have to move with the flow and vibe with the shamanism shanganis. But it was a good premise, we just would have done with longer episodes so they could patch up the holes.
But despite all the flaws, it was a show worth watching. You're not wasting your time on it really, it was good.
Exactly, like let TJR be @GJM! . I really want to see him act in costume drama by another director and writer…
Yes. The favoritism tag around him with GMJ dramas make everyone look down on him so much. Everyone keeps yapping about GJM using other popular actors to push his "favorite son" and they overlook how extraordinary his performance is. So I really hopes he works with other directors and scriptwritters too, apart from the drama he's currently filming right now.
GMJ is really locking Tian Jiarui and Yan an in his basement because why would they come back if the whole original cast is changed except them? They'll just cast another bunch of new actors and bring in another pair of popular actors who are going to be used for promotions.
And really, I don't wish for Rui to work with GJM in any more projects because that limit his talent since GJM has the same style. And I personally don't like that man cause he pushes his actors over the limit so no.
"To interpret him, one needed to empty oneself, detach from all outward emotions, and let the performance become an almost nihilistic existence. Not sadness, not pain, but nothingness. Nothing at all, wanting nothing, only wanting to return to the past, to the carefree days of youth,"
And we've felt how much Ji Ling longed for those days of sunshine which are full of warmth, without the responsibilities of the world, we've felt it all. Rui did absolutely amazing.
I don't think Rui's fans are too nice.. i think we just don't want to be bothered with the same crazy individuals/trolls…
Which is valid really. In every page where I see others trying to drag Rui, I always come across positively, even on Twitter most of the time too. Weibo fans are more stern, but they're nice too which is so rare. That's why they really come across as too nice.
Even if haters downrate this, it'll not affect the drama cause JiLu keeps on winning anyway.
You guys keep on crying but you keep downrating on these apps, you watch on illegal sites, and you don't support your favorite actors by buying their merchandise. Crazy really because people were crying about highlights and screen time. Yet JJY had prox 500 minutes in tbe drama, TJR 400, JZ & CD 350 which is all enough to carry the show.
Regarding highlights, you don't get a script emphasizing highlights to the actors. Actors are the ones who are supposed to perfect their craft so it can be a highlight. There are many cameos in dramas that stands out with barely 5 minutes of screen time in a 40 episodic drama. Tian Jiarui was acting along side Neo Minghao in FOF and they both managed to get their respective highlights without Zhuo Yichen overshadowing Zhao Yuanzhou. So who's the problem?
Ju Jinyi delivered what she could in the drama. I don't even think the lines were that much of the highlights but how she delivered them gave them an impact. She's good at what she does, and she gave an outstanding performance.
WSG and WWY had too many scenes which can be considered highlights yet they seemed not be be highlights enough for y'all. And you guys do not talk about them, all you do is to complain and complain. You complain that viewers are being bias, so you want JiLu fans to talk about Wuwu cp?
Then you yap about Jiarui being the favorite. CD has played 2 main lead in GMJ shows, why ain't you saying she's the favorite too? Jiarui was casted in MJTY due to his own efforts, and since the director saw potential in him, you guys think he's undeserving of having an equal billing in this drama even though he was one of the actors who literally carried this entire show?
If you're that insecure, you guys should question more about your favorite actors acting abilities instead of ruining our mood. Leave this drama alone and leave Tian Jiarui alone too in all these apps. Talk more about your favorite actors.
I'm so annoyed, and Rui's fans can be too nice for my liking.
After seeing a lot of posts before saying Duang was cringe, I was expecting Cringe Cringe.
But unexpectedly, we're met with this two beautiful characters who's love is just pure and beautiful. It was chill and funny, and Qin's background added another complex layer which was not necessary dwelled over. It was a good way to show how different they were, and how their personalities were so different including their families. It was good seeing Qin healing and finally learn to let himself fall in love. And it was also good to see Duang being the greenest boyfriend. He was a complete book boyfriend package haha. And despite him being so desperate to be noticed by Qin in the first episodes, I just loved how he still respected his boundaries and never overdid (considering that everything Duang did was so extra personality wise)
Natural chemistry, beautiful story, and good acting. What more can anyone ask for?
Whether she's 18 or 19, she's a high school student and we look up to teachers as our elders, no matter the age gap. There's nothing romantic about this because an 18 year old is still immature. What would a fully independent grown ass man doing with a young girl who is still wet under her ears?
I hope there's no romance. I'm truly surprised by the tags thus why I'm so horrified. I'll just wait unti it finishes airing before deciding whether to continue or not.
This was a very good show really. But since I watched it a few years ago... now that I'm thinking about it, it was a bad move to make Eun Tak a high schooler when they could have at least made her a college student.
What a bad age gap trope between characters! Even though it's fantasy, 900 years old and a 25+ would have been better because 25 years olds are a bit matured, but a teenager? Hell 20 years olds are not even matured.
This synopsis sounds very good and I hope TJR can be casted because he can definitely play the role well. But I don't want to see him on GJM dramas again honestly.😫😫
The past weeks have been so long, it's been a while since I was captivated by a drama from the first episode to the last without losing the excitement. This drama carries such a deep meaning... from duty, to love, to devotion, to so many emotions that we felt through the eyes of the characters, especially Lu Wuyi and Ji Ling. Ju Jinyi and Tian Jia Rui brought this two characters perfectly to life, and I don't see anyone other than these two being our Jilu.
I haven't been following Ju Jinyi and I've never been a real fan of her but I've watched her dramas from the Legend of Yunxi, and I always thought she was a great actress but now she had really exceeded my expectations with her portrayal as Lu Wuyi. She was very phenomenal, and I hope she gets really good scripts from now on, I will truly be looking forward to her future projects.
And again, I like staning people who know what they're doing so that when I brag or defend them, it would not be embarrassing to do so. And I'm really proud to say I've been staning Ruirui since MJTY and so far, he has never disappointed me. It's so rare to see actors who really love their craft and give everything they have in their roles. Rui was excellent in this drama, he gave us 6 characters with different personalities and you can actually feel their difference by how he delivers them. Then he gave us the pitiful but kind and great Ji Ling who continued to touch our hearts throughout these past weeks.
People may slander him and call him the director's favorite or that he's using others to succeed but honestly... it was all his hard work. I'm sure if he delivered a mediocre performance, none of us would be gushing about him and proudly saying he's a great actor. He did outstanding, and he's amazing. I cannot wait to see him striving! He's still has a long way to go, but the future is bright.
This was a good journey. A painful one but one that will forever stay with us.
