So far I'm enjoying it.

Duan Xu is giving a newbie general and he does it so well. Considering the character's age, I liked how they didn't force maturity and aura but did it the way that gives off the young man energy.

He Simu too. You can clearly see the difference between the opening and throughout the episodes. In the opening, she really gives off power and aura... while in the rest of the episodes, she's curious, playful, confused, making it clear that she's not human around humans.

This is a good start so far, and their chemistry is good already. I cannot wait for more episodes. πŸ‘

It's my girl and Feiyu, ofcourse I'm tuning in.

I've been anticipating for this drama for a long time but since we've just gotten out of the POJ fever, I really hope I'll love it.

It's officially over, why do I feel so sad about this omg?

This was such a beautiful story. Everyone worked so hard, main leads, including the supporting actors. All the stories were worth watching, the main story was entertaining, the side stories were good too.

However it does feels a bit rushed that I wish they've done two seasons instead to cover everything. What an era, nothing else will feel as good as this again.

Let me say this with my whole chest β€” Xie Zheng's storyline has Epic Lead DNA and they have him playing emotional…
You've said it all.

Problem is, there are many plotholes centering around "telling, not showing" which throws most of us off. We don't have a problem at all with them being powerful and having an equal footing in their dynamic.

However, they suddenly made the male lead give us handsomeness and aura without showing that he actually deserve his tittle. We know he's powerful, but they had to show us that he's indeed powerful.

Changyu was better in the first episodes too than now. It's like the more she's becoming powerful is the most they're making her stupid and unreasonable.

They have been through a lot. You don't expect them to really be over each other like they were in Lian right?I…
Because it was shown, they didn't tell.

Changyu's love was easier to understand because they wrote most of the story in her narrative. So it's easier for her to share her thoughts with the audience.

Xie Zheng's point of view is shown through Changyu's eyes, not directly from him. However with the conflict they have shown between him and his uncle, it's easier to understand that for him, the life of politics is rather much rotten than the life he led when he was in Lian.

Most of the story is shown, not told. Then there are only few parts where they tell, and now show.

I guess we have different views on how their love started.

From Xie Zheng's part, I think it started off as gratefulness, to appreciation, to protection then fear of losing her. That was the process of him falling in love. With his background, he never met someone as Changyu who is struggling but can still be so carefree and selfless. He knew the life of politics and battlefield where even a kin can kill you, but Changyu was willing to take care of him without selfish desires. He admired her strength, and personality, then he started becoming smitten with her. It was definitely not automatic.

And with Changyu, she started with a small crush on him. Most of us usually admire people because they're just too pretty and it was obvious that she was not in love them, but had a crush. She took care of Yan Zheng because it was in her nature, and she believed that her mother wanted her to save him from that snow. She's kind and selfless (Which is still shown throughout the series cause she's willing to save everyone without a single thought) Throughout the fake marriage, she got used to Yan Zheng's presence, and care. The village was always against her, but she finally met someone who was patient and willing to help her. Ofcourse she was moved, and she started liking him. But she was a bit in denial because Yan Zheng was leaving, but when Yan Zheng finally left... it was then that she felt his absence and came to terms that she truly loved him.

That's my take.

You know you're fucked up as a couple when the certified divorce couple are done with your shit.😭😭

Xie Zheng and Changyu were so done with Gongsun and the princess.

It’s really sad how the chemistry between the main couple has fizzled out. This is what happens when you don’t…

I just think they're trying to get used to their new dynamic, and we'll see them being more lovely dovey then they will showcase their chemistry. They we're together for a long time during these past few episodes so ofcourse the audience will feel the disconnection a little.

I'm loving this drama a lot. However, the plot seems to be cut off in these past episodes like if you don't know, you don't know. Some scenes are just all over the place.

This was a mess.

It's a beautiful story but executed messy at some point that I didn't even like everything in it, and I barely enjoyed 50% of the story.

Miss Hong has so many character traits I wouldn't want in people around my circle. She has a terrible personality, the only thing I loved about her is that she's strong and smart.

Let's just watch the remaining episodes on official sites people πŸ‘ The actors and the production team worked very hard on the project and they have given us a drama worth watching which we all love. The least we could do is to appreciate them and send back the love by watching on legal streaming platforms.

DON'T WATCH THE LEAKED EPISODES.😌

is the leak going to affect the drama negatively?
If it's really true, they might lose a lot of money. ten episodes are a lot, and we were still waiting for the express.

Hopefully, they wrap it up and drop the express package and that everyone will watch the drama in the official sites.

It is not the criticism that is the issue. It is the pattern especially with this fan base. This is not the first…
Luckily I was not active here when those drama aired. We're thankful to have respectable fans in cdramas cause the most are just rotten. My comment was also about what I've seen so far here and on twt so I dropped my comment here because most people pass here.

Let's enjoy the drama.

I've followed ZH since Maiden Holmes and yes I've came across some nasty fans but I'm not that deep into Fandom wars, especially here and on Weibo.

I've followed Cdramas for years and so far, all cdrama Fandoms are like that.

righttt, mostly these ppl are only casual watchers, who cares abt fandom shit
We've had LOFG, Legend of Shenli, Princess Agents, etc and We've loved them.

We all come here to scream whenever a strong female character is suddenly stronger only in name. Do we go around name calling others? No.

The comments I've seen so far are of the audience sharing their disappointment about his character.

Yet so far, I've been to twt, Facebook and here on MDL and everyone's who slightly complains about how Xia Zheng is being watered down β€” we're getting jumped for being pick me's, male centered or male pleasers.

We can't even enjoy a drama without performative feminists jumping down our necks. I'm a feminists too and I'm all for women empowerment but criticizing the plot on how the male lead is executed does not make me less of a feminist. Especially since we're not saying Changyu should be a submissive wife, all oppressed and ah. We're saying the male lead lead have been poorly written.

We're not throwing jabs at the actors but at the characters. Other than that, Idc about fandom wars that happened years ago... I'm talking about now.

Why do y'all cdrama fans resort to name calling when others have different opinions or has complaints with the storyline?

This mostly goes to female lead fans. We're out here talking about characters and they'll bring up the actor's name and call you all sort of names. We're here to enjoy dramas, not to sugarcoat and boost your egos about certain characters.

I love both Xiwei and Zhang Linghe on my part. And I'll criticize the shit out of something if I don't personally like it.

If he has marquis title, that doesn't mean he should kill thousands or everyone in opposite army, he would lead…
Love, you're misunderstanding me. When Changyu becomes the military commander, will she stop being powerful? no, she'll lead the battle and fight.

So far, Xie Zheng has been riding horses, they're not giving us him fighting in the battlefield. Just because he's a Marquis, should he stop killing generals in the battlefield?

When I'm saying show, don't tell us, I mean they should give us a reason why he deserved his tittle in the first case, they should make him be what they say he is. As the main lead, of course they should show us... that's the importance of storytelling. You deepen the character's background, you don't say "He's already got a tittle, so why should they make him strong? why should he fight?"

If a show was about a Male lead being a cook, he would still be cooking throughout the story because that is a character building.

Who said anything about him going on a killing spree? He cannot capture his enemies next to his feet and he's just there riding his horse in the middle of a battlefield. They should have given him a scholar tittle and let the Changyu fight and that would have been alright.

But they should not exaggerate his tittle and power if we're not going to see him being who they're claiming he is. As writers usually say, show, don't tell. But all we've ever given was how great Marquis Wu'An is, nothing to back up their statements when facing enemies in the frontline.
