And for those being defensive calling us male centered... It's hard luck because this is a written script and they should not just tell us something, they should show it.
I've watched a lot of dramas where the female is stronger than the male and it was never a problem if it's well executed. In this case, they kept calling Xie Zheng "The great Marquis Wu'An" but he can't even capture a single bird thrown to his feet. We never seen him in action as the great Marquis, it's like he's only great by name and he's always busy aura farming.
Being sappy in love doesn't have to take away his tittle when he can be both.
I love this drama so much but I'm very disappointed with how they watered down Xie Zheng's character. The mighty Marquis Wu'An is praised by everyone but we never see him in action. With this battle, I thought we would see him but once again, they butchered his character.
He was strong in the earliest episode, but now it's like he's a supporting character who's there for the sake of being there.
The plot is plotting. I expected Marquis Wu'An to not believe Changyu when she tells him she loves him before she leaves. This man is so possessive of his wife that he keep sulking saying "Then tell me you love me"
no, I was seriously wondering why I somewhat swooned by qi min's obsession. while his look might be the cause,…
Me, the other way around. Qi Min's obsession creeped me out because he was literally abusing his woman "just because of his trauma" like I didn't even care, I literally disliked him the second he kept emotionally traumatizing her and his own child. Which is why the actor himself didn't impress me.
While to my dimple boy, he just a crazy prick who made me hate him. He's so good at making me wish I could step inside that drama and join into hitch slapping him. At his age, I was quiet impress with him. He's so natural.
It must be a given name. In my country, traditionally you're given a name during initiation (with a coming of age ceremony) So you'll have a birth name, and a given name given by the elders in your family.
In these past few episode, the writers has been clear by showing us both Xie Zheng and Chang Yu's fears. They're characters, thus they're meant to be flawed.
Chang Yu is impulsive. After what happened with the food trade, she still went on and drugged Yu Zheng (even though he didn't know he was the Marquis) She still did something she shouldn't have. But her choices highlight how far she could actually go for people who means dear to her. She cares a lot, and does not want to lose people she cares about so she ends up making impulsive decisions without thinking further.
When it comes to Xia Zheng, it's bern clear that he's scared. He's been asking Chang Yu questions such as "What if I become someone higher than a general, would you..." / "You were looking for me because you..." He's been hesitant, and afraid of Cheng Yu's reaction about his identity. He wishes it was like in Lian, where they used to spend their time without all these trouble. But that is like a dream to Xie Zheng, which causes doubt because he's not even sure that Chang Yu loves him like that. He's the Marquis of Wu'An after all, not a live in husband of the Fang family. He's still doubtful and hesitant, and afraid.
We can count his fighting scenes on one hand, that might have been back in Lin An. I am disappointed that Xie…
We need intense fighting scenes soon and I'm sure now that Changyu has found out about his identity, they'll give us the arc where he showcases his reputation as the Marquis of Wu'An. They shouldn't just tell us how big of a deal he is, we need to see how big of a deal he is.
And I obviously cannot wait for the next episodes, maybe we'll see more.
As the Marquis of Wu'an, they have definitely watered down his personality to a baby husband who constantly needs to be taken care of by his wife. So far, Chang Yu has keeping the fire alive. I really need my power couple, separate and together.
What keeps the story going is how there's no boring episode, all the episodes keep making you want more, and more that it seems like a 10 minutes episode.
I hope they'll make him beg and crawl. Give us an episode of him begging at her feet for what he's put her through.
This drama literally has everything. Everything is engaging. The main plot, the side plots, the conflicts, the toxicity, the strong women, the fighting scenes, the cinematology, the chemistry, what more can we even ask for?
I've been so patient. I was waiting for this to finish so I could binge watch but look at me... about to finish watching episode 1 and the series is not even halfway through.ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Okay, I dropped this last year after it aired. So after watching WilliamEst in Me amd Thee, I came across their edits on my reels so I was like "it wouldn't hurt trying it again."
I'm just glad I did.
I'm currently writing a novel (an mlm) obviously so I was deep into writer's block that I couldn't think of anything. My mind has been so blank and I usually get too anxious when I spend a lot of time not wriing anything.
I picked this series up the day before yesterday and I don't remember when last I have watched something so heartfelt, heartwarming and so beautiful at the same time which ended up with me breaking off my shackles and I've been writing from yesterday.
I'm truly not exaggerating.
The storytelling, the depth of their character dynamics, the chemistry, the pace... everything was well executed. You just had to fall in love with all the characters (the group+Po) and each one of their roles is so important and sympathetic.
It was beautiful how ThamePo fell in love with each other. It was not something that happened abruptly, it was by small touches, little understanding between them, being in the same space, and being apart. They gave me so many butterflies that I ended up screaming and punching the air alone because "WTF?" are they are precious?
It's so endearing seeing their chemistry being so simple, which is what I have seen in Me and Thee as well. A simple touch or a simple lock of their gaze bring so much spark better than I have ever imagined. I liked them too much, they feel so much like home.
I've never watched a 12 hour episode in less then 4 hours than I did with this. They should have given them another script. Yet it's clear they were building the hype around the previous characters from Addicted after all these years.
This was bad written. And the chemistry fell short (though I blamed it on the script because their chemistry was not probably explored. They just gave them unnecessary problems when they started dating and made them fall apart for the whole two episodes only for them to reunite in the last minutes) The first episodes didn't have any hook at all, there was no character depth, they were just butchering on top without giving us a reason on why we should care about them.
I think this guy will need therapy after this therapy. 1. there's some bi (or gay) awakening happening and he's growing attached. And those styles aren't for the weak, they just taught me some, done doing all the riding in the world.ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I just wish there was a little story where they sprinkle a bit of romance and show their emotional shift that was happening in episode 4.
lot of recent kdramas where great and I dont get the western comment, what does that mean? violence or nudity…
I watch a lot of dramas but most of them usually falls flat plotwise. So far, I've enjoyed Can This Love Be Translated, Art Of Sarah, and To My Beloved Thief (I'm counting within a year). There are few good dramas adapted from the comics and the rest are just being adapted because they're popular online, not because of a good storyline.
And no, the western comment mean they're prioritizing western media a lot. After the hits like Business Proposal, King The Land, etc... it seems they're just adapting dramas to sell them to western media. This is happening to the kpop industry as well.
We used to get good quality writing, good plot longer episodes, good chemistry, good ost, good directing, everything with a good quality. But now it's rare to find all of that in one drama, you find one or who of the things I've listed and an exceptional cinematology.
How many chapters are they updating daily, really? I haven't started and I'm eagerly anticipating for when it finishes but it seems like it's going slow. (I usually check the updates)

Xie Zheng: "I can literally move the mountains for you, don't leave me alright?"
Sui Yuan Hai: "I can gladly die on your hands. Let me drink that poison idc"

I think it's like that I'm not so sure.

This is my drug these past few days.

The director was not bad. It is the writing.

Or when they announce a concert (And hopefully, the roaches that keep reporting them can jump off the cliff or something for the world's peace.)
