Title Twelve Letters Spoiler
Shen Cheng was really selfless for not saying who his father was, because if he did, Tang and Xun would never…
My hope is that Shen was adopted as well. It doesn’t feel fair if he doesn’t exist because of changing the past. But it’s so interesting that Yu Nian remembers the previous past history after she wakes up. How is that possible?

Title Twelve Letters Spoiler
I was expecting a sad ending, but they gave mr a happy ending, a satisfying one. The ending really made my heart…
You should use a spoiler. It’s only happy if you don’t care about the fate of Yu Nian and Shen Cheng. Both clearly loved their parents. And the scenes between young Yu Nian and Tang Yixun had me in tears. That’s a father there. So in one sense I’m happy for Haitang and Yixun but sad for the kids. As a father I can tell you, I wouldn’t change any of the bad in my past if it meant my kids wouldn’t exist or I’d never meet them. I will say, it seems that Yu Nian ended up having a nice life at least as it relates to prosperity. But you can tell she clearly remembers everything. The first thing she types on her phone is dad. So it’s more of a bittersweet ending than happy.

Title Twelve Letters Spoiler
I'm confused by the comments. Is Fl married to another man and has a child? Who is Shen Cheng?
In the future Haitang supposedly got married and had a child, Shen Cheng. But they never say who his father is. We also know they got divorced and Shen Cheng had not seen his mother for two years up to that point.

Review Twelve Letters Spoiler
Great review. Loved this show. I definitely feel like four more episodes would have allowed for a smoother landing to properly tie up all the loose threads. But I need people to talk about the ending and give me their thoughts. Yu Xian clearly remembered everything when she woke up. But we also know things did change. So are we in an alternate reality or changed future. Also in the previous episode we see that Yixun died and met up with young Haitang and walked off into the netherworld together. Did that no longer happen? I definitely was left with questions at the end.

Title Twelve Letters Spoiler
I normally don’t watch modern Cdramas but this is one of the best Cdramas I have watched this year, modern or otherwise. The acting was amazing. And this drama showed a display of what true love is without one kiss, one love making scene or even confession of love. Haitang and Yixun loved each other so deeply that I haven’t seen a Cdrama this year that compares to their romance. It showed sacrifice and true commitment. Such a sweet display of true love. My only complaint is that they needed four more episodes. I think that would have really giving us a chance to explore the ramifications of changing the timeline. Poor Shen Cheng and Yu Nian. Although, Yu seemed to be living a better life than before based off her surroundings. Can anyone explain what happened there? I know they changed the timeline but what was up with the phone?

Why did they pick such a very old actor to play TYX in his old age? The man's real age is 67. The old TYX is supposed…
Same. It was so unbelievable to think he was in his 50s. It was distracting. I just chalked it up to a hard life.

I haven't started it but something doesn't add up. While it was airing, the feeds were full of praises but now…
Fangirls will give it a 10 because of the romance and ML’s abs. Haters will give it a two after watching one episode. Best to watch a few episodes for yourself to see if it clicks.

I've been thinking a bit since finishing this. I wish we had seen more of her rise in the army the first time…
Agreed. Two episodes at the beginning to get more into her family and rise as a general. Didn’t feel anything when her mother died because they failed to establish the connection. I would do another two episodes towards the end that would set up Chu’s fall alot better. So 40 episodes might have been the sweet spot.

I was so confused with Chu zhao, and then they made him normal after he had a menacing look when He yan rejected…
Ying Xiang’s death made no sense. We have seen through the entire series that Ying Xiang was a skilled fighter. Are you telling me the only way she could stop Ping Ting was to take a knife in the back. Just silly writing like that was exhausting.

Last two episodes felt like filler. I never felt that Mr Chu was so in love or even that obsessed with He Yan to go off the deep end like that. It felt half baked. Emperor’s behavior and decisions undermined his dialogue just an episode ago. They needed more story development to make it work. They really could have just defeated He Rufei and the chancellor and then skipped to the wedding. Either way, a solid series. Loved the chemistry of the leads. Editing was bad. Fight choreography was great. Loved the OSTs. Overall I’d give it an 8.7.

I just want to know one thing does chinese writers think if they wrote a drama without any misunderstanding or…
If you watch enough Cdramas you t feels like they are working off of a template. Most of these Cdramas are completely unoriginal. Fortunately they tend to be entertaining.

Honestly Episode 26 was complete nonsense.Xiao Jue literally teleported into Rundu. He Yan crying her eyes out,…
I have been watching Cdramas for less than six months. I have watched enough to realize that most of these stories are geared towards an audience who wants romance above everything else. Logic be damned as long as the romantic plot is moved along. As long as the romantic meat is served to the audience most will ignore the things you mentioned.

Seriously after the court scene, Chu was delulu to think HY loves him??? Hmmmm bro the one who loves you is YX!!!
I always find the 2ML/2FL’s obsession with the leads unconvincing in Cdramas. This drama included. I’m never convinced with the reason why they fell in love with the lead in the first place. Chu has two beautiful women pining after him but is solely focused on He Yan. I can see why he wouldn’t want that wicked daughter but it’s obvious that his maid loves him. He Yan has shown no romantic interest in him but he is completely whipped.

The writing in episode 29 was a bit of a mess for me. And it felt sped up and rushed. The editing has always been atrocious for a show of this quality but I can understand with limitations placed on productions. A couple of things bothered me in this episode. For one, the flashbacks showing Xiao Jue being responsible for improving He Yan’s swordsmanship and bow skills was silly. I’m not some feminist sword carrier but making him in anyway responsible for development hurts her back story. They did this simply to further the romance plot. It’s a tired trope in these dramas to connect the lovers as early as possible to make them destined lovers. I didn’t think it was needed. Xiao Jue and He Yan have amazing chemistry and the progression of their relationship was coming along just fine. My other issue was how the emperor found out He Yan was a woman. The whole exchange was just word salad nonsense to get us from point A to B. And if you are going to tell the emperor He Yan’s a woman you might as well tell the rest about He Rufei. And why was He Yan shocked in court? Did Xiao Jue not bother to tell her he told the emperor? I still love this show but I hope we don’t make a bunch of illogical leaps because of the need to wrap the story up. This feels like a series that needed to use the full 40 episodes.

Looking forward to the Wang Xingxue/Bai Lu reunion. Hopefully he gets the girl this time. I don’t expect this to come out this year but definitely keeping it on my radar.

Is that me or Wang Xingyue doesn't have many kiss scenes in his dramas? I watched him in The Double, Perfect Match,…
He doesn’t do many. Hope he has lots when he and Bai Lu’s series comes out. I also want him to star with Meng Ziyi in a series. And team up with Zhou Ye again. Scent of Time pissed me off.
