Sometimes, your suffering can save your beloved's life.
Glad they paid off the poison storyline in the end. Also loved that Beiming put Xueman first and let everyone else go after Yesha than leave her and go after him. Now that’s romance and love.
I love the fact that even though this isn’t a romance, Beiming decided to stay with Xueman instead of running off to fight Yesha in the end. I liked that touch because normally the hero would have one last show down fight with the Big Bad. Instead his love for Xueman made him stay behind. Turns out that following his heart saved the day. He discovered that he always carried the cure because of the poison in him. Nice way to circle back to the poison storyline btw. That whole sequence with Wang Xinyue and Julia was really good.
Wang Xing Yue and He Luo Luo are outstanding for their role. Both are young, but have very matured acting style.…
Wang Xingxue definitely lives up to the hype. The guy can act. He’s definitely on his way to being a top leading male. I was impressed with the entire cast honestly. They did such a great job. The way it ended with our main cast walking out together felt like the beginning of a crime fighting team. Looking forward to them tackling new cases.
I have to say this drama turned out to be my favorite so far this year. I’m currently watching some others so…
P.S., it has been four years and two weddings. They could have at least let Beiming and Xueman have one hour to do the deed before springing an emergency case on them. 😆
I have to say this drama turned out to be my favorite so far this year. I’m currently watching some others so that might change but it’s so good to watch a show and not feel disappointed at the end. I would love to see this team of actors/characters in a second season solving cases. The rating on this site has an awful injustice to a well done series.
I also feel the same, like I'm quite shocked... For instance, I find the currently airing The Wanted Detective…
The Wanted Detective is woefully underrated and I think alot of that has to do with the lack of a romance. Or at least romance not being the main focus. I’m loving LotFG but it’s definitely a romance first. Everything else is just service to that.
People who are saying Bei Hai is the villain are seeing things too simplistically. It’s not so black and white. The empire was on the verge on collapse and the emperor was seeking a desperate solution. He basically came up with a super soldier serum that worked in saving the empire. Of course he didn’t have time to run long term trials because of the desperate situation. I view Bei Hai as an Oppenheimer. He may have some culpability for his creation but what happened beyond that is not his fault. The emperor, the prince, the generals, Xueman’s dad and other officials hold much more of the blame for the massacre at Haiya. They are now reaping the whirlwind of their cover up. And if Yesha is seeking revenge for those who were massacred then he’s not a total villain either.
Yesha is the hero of this story. The government massacred a city to cover up their crime. There is a lot of culpability to go around. Even Xueman’s dad has blood on his hands. I kinda see where Yesha is coming from. Some people need to pay for this war crime. Love this “sins of the father” story that’s not so black and white.
This show definitely deserves at least an 8.5 rating on here. It has gotten better and better with every episode. Episode 30 was great. No spoilers, but my view of Yesha has changed.
Yeah XBM's father is the ultimate villain regardless of who Yesha actually is. Regardless of his motives, he tried…
It’s not as black and white as that. He tried to create a super soldier and it worked. They saved the kingdom. Unfortunately the dude effect backfired. If there is an ultimate villain it would have to be the emperor and then the prince and the top officials. Once the soldiers killed each other off they decided to kill the surviving towns people to cover up the mess up. That wasn’t on Beiming’s father.
I still can't believe all the HATE towards this beautiful drama. What is the difference between this and all the…
They try to paint it as a good ending. Had she got with the toxic, abusive ML character in the end while still struggling with personality issues then I could have lived with it if it was shown as being a negative. That’s real life. Many women go back to abusive men and think that’s the norm. But they tried to pass off the abusive man and toxic relationship as curative and good for her.
If you're a Shin Hye Sun fan this is a must watch. Don't worry about the weaknesses in the plot, everything here…
This show is awful. The only reason I was able to finish is because of Shin Hyesun. But even her amazing acting couldn’t save this awful story. The message it left is one I hope every young woman forgets.
The preview for episodes 29 and 30 are insane. Kinda wish we didn’t get a big reveal like that this late in the season. Not enough episodes left to unpack that properly. We really need this series to go to 40 episodes now.
Wang Xinyue is so good. His acting in the dungeon was some of the best acting I have seen from a Cdrama male lead that I can remember. It’s way up there. I had to rewatch that performance on its own.
