I'm at episode ten and the pacing has slowed down considerably. Usually this is a sign that the plot lacks depth, especially considering that they've chosen to incorporate filler-like episodes so early on. I take back what I said before about the show having a fantastic start. Who would have thought they'd run out of steam so fast?

So far, the first 6 episodes of The Journey of Legend were absolutely fantastic. I daresay that Cheng Yi's acting career is at its peak. What behooves me is the amount of hype and support shows (like The Immortal Ascension, for example) get just because fans love the lead. I find that people are mesmerized just based on looks and marketing. I'm interested in whether the actors are versatile and fully immersed in the role, it has to be convincing. When this is paired with a quality production and a solid plot, kudos are in order. The number of people groaning over whether the show has any romance, or scoffing because they wanted more CGI really proves to me that genuinely unbiased reviews are rare these days.

The Blood of Youth didn't have much romance either and it was still top tier. Give me a quality production any day over a poorly executed romance-infused plot.

Are my eyes deceiving me, or does Gulnezer Bextiyar (Qiu Shui's adopted sister) look exactly like Meng Zi Yi? The resemblence is too striking for nobody else to have mentioned this.

What's wrong with his cheeks is that he isn't Li Hong Yi. As far as I can remember, Cheng Yi has always had slightly puffy cheeks.
