Oh oops - I missed that you were looking for recs similar to this one lol 😂 my bad. In that case you might also like Sword and the Brocade and Blossoms in Adversity :)
Legend of zhuohua is by same writer and I think is better stars male lead of Minglan.
I am less than ten episodes into LoZH, but am liking it a lot. I like the cohesive partnership that the leads are developing, but I did hear that there isn’t a lot of skinship in it which is something that I really like in my romances. Regardless, I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I am, and as long as the leads get equal development I’ll be happy. I loved TSoML after the leads got together because he was SO touchy feely with Minglan!
Her anger is nore on the part that he kept on saying that they're in it together yet when real trouble came he…
Yeah but she decided to keep it a secret from him in the beginning. It would have been nice if she at last initially apologized for that. If she was honest with him the day he showed up at her sister’s new house, so much could have been prevented. The only reason she was going to talk to him was because she suspected that he overheard them.
I think I’m a bit mixed about how the conflict unfolded and about how it was resolved. I JUST finished it and…
I haven’t watched any of the previews yet. I think since their engagement and marriage JZ has been really great about showing her love for CYY so I guess I personally don’t see it as unbalanced. I just wish her guardedness got addressed and that she would be allowed to have faults and be accountable to them.

I already did watch 34. And honestly- I’m starting to get the similar Rah Rah Girl Power vibes as PoJ after how the resolution of their fight went. Like CYY pointedly told her he was hurt that she didn’t tell him that CXQ was harassing her and her only response was “What would you do in my position?” No apology for hurting his feelings at all - and to make matters a bit more unsatisfactory, she literally brushed away all of his concerns by kissing him. Seemed a little patronizing to him tbh.
I think I’m a bit mixed about how the conflict unfolded and about how it was resolved. I JUST finished it and am still processing it, but it seems like they really painted the whoooole conflict as CYY being petty and jealous, while JZ did not do anything wrong whatsoever and didn’t need to apologize. Like ofc she wasn’t wrong for having a crush on CXQ before, I don’t even think she was wrong for not thinking to talk to CYY about it when they got engaged buuut… keeping it a secret that he was pestering her? That’s where I think she did mess up, but she never apologized. I also was a little bothered that while she was signing the divorce papers she reflected back on CYY asking her not to retreat when problems come and instead try to solve them with him… and JZ used that memory to reinforce her belief that CYY was the one who was not trying to work things out with her— which is partly true because he was avoiding her — but SHE was the one who wasn’t honest with him when CXQ was harassing her. SHE was the one who shut him out and went ahead to try to solve all of it on her own while keeping CYY in the dark. In not keeping CYY in the loop, the situation escalated to a painful moment when CYY was humiliated and put on the spot.
It didn’t really seem to me that JZ was held accountable for any of that, but rather CYY was all in the wrong and just being petty and jealous. Hmm. Yeah I’m still processing the past couple of episodes.
@LizzyWhen she first met CXQ she was only 14+. Naturally she would be attracted to someone closer in age to her.…
Eh, I don’t know if jealous is the most accurate word I was going for. My point was that I can see how he may feel a little insecure because JZ didn’t exactly chase him, nor was she overtly enthusiastic about marrying him (her mom died since CXQ, so it’s understandable she’d be more jaded). So for CYY to hear that she chased CXQ, I can see how that would sting. And with all of the cultural components to this situation as well. 🤷🏼♀️ I get both sides.
