Her mother abandoned her long ago, right after her dad died of illness. Grandma's health deteriorates drastically, she is in dire need of transplantation.
She also learns that bitch mom recently got in relationship with ML's father. In her despair, FL decides to threaten her bitch mother by telling her new man, ML's dad, that his new wife's abandoned daughter is in relationship with his own son. Coming from very rich Lu family he cares a lot about his reputation, and will definitely abandon that woman. Bitch mother complies and gives money in exchange of FL staying quiet about their family affairs.
FL stops approaching ML, but he already got smitten, even though he knows she had some ulterior motives when approaching him. Really angsty. Their relationship is slightly toxic at the beginning since they both lacked sincerity. Both with twisted and depressing backgrounds. The issue with money is insignificant in their relationship used as starting point only. It's mostly about causes of wrong choices and later consequences a person must bear after making this wrong decision. The later stage of their relationship in adulthood is back on proper track. Though, the beginning of their adult relationship is also not to my taste either, but it improves quite soon. And as sweet as sugar in the end
