I think I can already conclude my impressions about this drama. I can more or less predict what's gonna happen further in the drama. I like ZW in the novel, and I don't like ZW in the drama. I don't like LXX in the novel, but I like him in the drama. Parents are annoying shit in both versions.
They met after 10 years. During this break he already forgave her, and was prepared to find her and get back together.…
Oh, as addition. It wasn't ZW fault when LXX got injured. In the novel, it was actually LXX who constantly clashed with Luo He while ZW never knew him. Until Luo He bullied her and pushed her when he dirty-talked about her relationship with LXX (there was a part of this scene in the drama). So, when JY offered to lure LXX using ZW, Luo He agreed. But it was to get back at LXX, not ZW. For this ZW stopped interacting with JY for good until adulthood years. Also, LXX intentionally threw himself at Luo He's knife because he thought if he got injured "saving ZW" she would feel indebted to him and be forced to stay. By that time, ZW started distancing herself from LXX and preparing to leave him.

It's different from the novel. Lu grandpa didn't force her to leave LXX. Her leaving was actually a sort punishment for herself after she destroyed her bitch mother's prospects of marrying Lu father. Thinking she was never worth LXX love with her ulterior motives and scheming when she had approached him in the beginning. Also with him being injured while saving her from Luo He, she decided to leave him for good. ZW in the novel was suffering from serious psychology backlashes of her father's death and her mother's abandoning her. She constantly thought she's not worth of anything good, she can't be loved by anyone, she's nothing but a burden for those who care about her (like her grandma). Even small kind gestures must be repaid even if a person who helped her didn't expect anything in return. If someone actually cares for her she must prove that she deserved such care, etc.
It seems so. We can see from the trailers that she is still in contact with JY. While in the novel, she knew that JY collaborated with Luo He, she saw him in that building. So, during university years she barely talked to him unless they were invited to group projects or gatherings. After graduating she severed all contacts with him until they met as adults. It's because she thought it's betrayal of LXX if she associates with a person who caused LXX humiliation and injury. This happened after she had met LXX again and started living with him.
Re-watching Ep20 and hopefully get answers to questions I had when I watched yesterday. Maybe novel readers can…
Firstly, she transferred schools (in the novel she's 16-17 yo). After graduating, yes, she left their town. She spent one more year working to save money for college and debt repayment, and applied to the uni following year.
In the novel, JY got angry after being diminished by Lu grandpa. He always had deep dislike and inferiority complex towards LXX (Lu father fault here). So he decided to set up a trap for Luo He to beat LXX. He lied to ZW to lure her to Luo He so that LXX will come to save her.
First half of the novel is mainly focused on family affairs of FL. The second half is more for big scale politics…
Revenge is not the main focus of this novel. FL also uses her past memories and knowledge, but it's to save the lives of her family branch (father, mother, and sister). She plans to deal with villainous concubine but it's mostly for self-preservation since this concubine constantly schemes to harm FL's mother and sister. Her father also doesn't blindly side with his concubine, he doesn't love or care much about her. He actually treats FL's mother better because she's his main wife. He also treats FL and her sister better than his concubine-born daughter. Actually, FL's father is quite unique character. I've never seen father figure like him in any novel I've read so far. He's mostly a weirdo who cares only about his interests - calligraphy and painting. He treats FL and her mother and sister better because, in his prospect, legitimate wife and her children must be treated with this much care and proper respect. Yet he's not doting and devoted husband and father, not stepping in "women affairs" on anyone's side. At the same time, he doesn't see the need to pay much attention to his concubine and her children. He just treats his son there a bit better because it's son. Yet again, not much care or love there. He's not doting but also not cruel. Just distant father. He only cares for FL a bit more because she takes after him and shares his interests and is also very talented painter.

Only the basics were taken from the original anime.
