I like this drama separately from the novel. As drama 9/10. As adaptation of the novel it's not so good. Minus 1 for inconsistencies. Drama is good, novel is excellent. Them together not
I also hope they will show some of their married life in the series, as some major events occurred during that time. I saw some snippets in the trailer with FL having combed hair, which married women usually wear, so I really hope. A bit confused with the fire scene, don't remember it happening in the novel...

Finished the novel! Excellent! I'm not sure how much the crew will change the plot from the novel, but really hope they will show a scene when FL's father, Ren Shimin, broke ties with Ren clan. It's so satisfying. Served those old hags right!
I fear they will cut a lot of scenes of the novel and replace the with some big-shot political schemes. On one hand, I'd like some of scenes to be cut (r*pe of evil sister for example, I know she's awful, but no woman deserves it). On the other hand, I'm worried they will not not show enough of household schemes, which should be the main stage of our FL... Waiting payiently. Just air already🙏
Actors all play well, they're gorgeous. Music is superb - especially intro, costumes and fighting, and acting are good too👍. But the plot and story pacing is so-so, in my opinion. I expected something like "Double" of Qian Shan Cha Ke (sorry if I used her name incorrectly - meant no insult, I struggle with Chinese names). Here, the intrigues are not political intrigues, seems more like child plays. CZ is weirdly confident in all her planning, while all that plans have failed. Too simple intrigues of everyone, none of the characters even consider that their schemes may not work, so they leave no place for backup plans. All they do is later consider like "waah, he/she outmaneuvered me... I underestimated him/her". Seriously 😒 Maybe more episodes were needed for this drama... So far, what I saw in released episodes is that all main players got trapped in their rivals scheming in order, one after another. XX< CZ

Hello! Our FL has only grandmother dear to her, but she is very sick (something with kidneys), they constantly lack money. FL tries to save money for grandma's operation but doesn't have enough and time is ticking. Her mother abandoned her several years ago, right after her father died of sickness, and overall mother is selfish bitch. That mother recently married very rich businessman, ML's estranged father. Many bad things happened to FL (including deteriorating health of grandma), so she was on the verge and decided to punish her mother. FL tries to get close to ML to threaten the mother with telling the new husband that his wife's abandoned daughter dates his son ( he doesn't know about his new wife being mother). Being very rich and with even stricter patriarch (ML grandpa) he cares a lot about his reputation, so most likely he'll abandon that bitch to save face. Later, FL does fall in love with ML, but there're many complications (including ML side).
I paused in the middle of episode 1 cuz I'm confused, how can there be romance when they're cousins?😅😭

Xing Wu's mom, as a child, was sent to live with Qin Ye's mom because she was a sick kid, and there's a superstition that a sick child can share well-being with a healthy one. Xing Wu's mom was not mentioned to be even adopted because she had her own family alive. Later, Xing Wu's mom got kicked out because of an early pregnancy. In the novel, the main leads never even met before living in Zhazha.
