Yeah it feels like some of the things happen in a different order/chronology

She happens to stumble across a cafe that he opens later on when they’re back in the same city. After visiting a few times she noticed that the cafe was like the one she had previously described to Jin Zhao when she suggested that they open a cafe together (location at the foot of the mountain etc.). Lightning also happened to be there too (with a different name) but was very affectionate towards her when she went to the cafe. After realising that the cafe might be owned by Jin Zhao, she left her pen (the one he gifted her) at the cafe to see what would come out of it. When she contacts the employees about the pen, they said the owner took it and would meet her there on the weekend or something like that so she goes back to the cafe then.

He says “Sorry” and signs off as the “Zhao Zhao that misses you”

He still goes on a hike and can walk in the novel even after the amputation/prosthetic so yeah, we’ll see!
I feel like it needs to be as serious as this to justify him pushing her away…
