I'm loving this toxic couple (which may not be so toxic later on lol). So far, so good (except the sister, she gets on my nerves). I like how things get resolved quickly, and not get dragged for way too many episodes. Oh, and a willful Prince? Icing on a cake 🤭
I really like how this drama started. I’ve gotten used to watching OP leads from the very start. So XQS, who started from the bottom before gaining martial prowess was a refreshing change. It was fun UNTIL the last few episodes. It got more confusing. Did major characters really need to be offed, just like that? For what? Why, why, why??! I held on, expecting that the ending might solve some puzzles. BUT the ending opened a new bag of worms 🤯
Not to mention, the connection between the modern and the book world was never really explained well.
I’m mad the King is still the King? He was left unscathed! He’s the reason why so many people suffered! I was low-key expecting XQS will kind of replace LCZ in the palace (since they look identical) to continue protecting Daxi (assuming he’ll lose his powers). What’s the purpose of them looking alike?
If this is based on novel, I did not read it. My comment is just based on my POV of the drama, so I’m sorry if I offend anyone, it’s just that I’m disappointed. This series has so, so much potential ;(
Coming from LOTFG, with a strong FL, who’s also a General, I’m a wee disappointed FL here gets to be saved every time (I’m sorry for comparing). Although I get that that these are for the sake of the plot. Noting that I’m still at episode 6, maybe we’ll get some actions later 😄
On the bright side, we see more emotions from Cheng Lei compared to his Dudu Xiao. Aand, his character here is so endearing for having such princely lifestyle; fancy clothes, expensive tastebuds.. he prioritized attacking a town for its tasty grapes 😭
So far, I’m hooked. This time, we get the perspective of two opposing countries, leads from both sides, OSTs that are chef’s kiss, and seeing lots of shirtless Cheng Lei is icing on the cake 😌
Oh boy, I wasn't expecting much from this drama. It took me a long time to finish the first few episodes. This started as a filler for the other dramas I'm watching. But now that I'm more than halfway, I am actually hooked. I even found myself watching this over the new released episodes of LOTFG. On the side note, Deng Wei looks so ethereal here, and JX I'm loving her! I'm a fan now ❤
She confessed first, twice even. But he was three steps ahead and confessed in front of the nation. Tell me who could top that? 😭 Man was so sure of himself, he claimed her without her knowing 😭
The way she teased him and he just softly smiled “I am your view, your mind, and your heart” 🥺
Enjoy your day!
