Agree, JBN does not need to lower herself by confronting her drunken, mistrusting, and bewildered husband by confronting him when he's making a fool of himself by putting himself in a compromising position and jeopardizing their 5+ years of marriage.
I also agree that all of the encounters that JBN has had with ZX have been purely business and/or making sure he knows that she has no intentions of accepting him even if she's no longer with LQ.
JBN is hurting a lot and has been forced to handle things by herself being that her mistrusting and bewildered husband chose to ignore and keep his wife away instead of letting her know why he wants and needs her to stay home.
For all those that feel sad for LQ because his wife is ignoring him after she was ignored and mistreated by her husband and father-in-law, remember that LQ was the one that broke his promise to his wife to always believe and love her no matter what.

IMHO, JBN left from what was suppose to be her home with LQ because her father-in-law told her she was no longer wanted in the Li home and asked LQ to write the divorce letter, which LQ did not try to talk over with his wife. Instead LQ continued to ignore her and even imprisoned her. JBN was also just heartbroken because she had heard about the rumors of her husband with other females, which she confirmed and saw her husband drinking and being embraced by another woman, which he purposely chose for his wife to misunderstand.
Honestly, I do not understand why the 5 year time jump without any children!
At this point, I'm hoping that they are secretly working together to uncover the schemers etc. If they are not, I cannot see how they can reconcile being that they do not trust each other. How can LQ still say that he loves his wife when he's the one that decided from that start that it was best to ignore and push JBN away while he searched for the nun etc? LQ is the one that mistrusted his wife and chose to not work together to confirm if what he was told about JBN's father was true or not. How can JBN begin to understand LQ when he has not try to clear any of the misunderstanding such as why he's pushing her away or why he was at the pavilion drinking etc?
I had put this drama on hold at episode 24 but after reading all the comments below regarding JBN treating LQ unfairly, I chose to watch episodes 25-36. The following is my opinion regarding JBN's actions towards her husband LQ:
- LQ purposely chose to ignore his wife because he was in conflict with himself over what happened 20 years ago with his mother and village without any solid proof and/or talking it over with his wife to work together and confirm if in fact it was JBN's father that caused the Li Village massacre.
- LQ purposely chose to have his wife misunderstand why he was at the Qinfang Pavilion and allowed the singer to give him a drink while she embraced him for her to get heartbroken. IMHO, JBN should had stayed and confronted her husband and demanded an explanation but being that she did not... LQ should had at least gone after her to ask her what he should do instead of pretending that the singer was JBN and asking her what he should do!
- LQ purposely chose not to talk with his wife and let her know that he needs time to find the nun and confirm if in fact it was her father that murdered his mom and village. Even his male servant told him that he was being unfair to JBN!
As for JBN accepting Zhao Xiao's help, I'm not sure why... but was relieved that she made him know that she knows that he purposely planned for his singer to be with LQ and that she had nothing to do with their conflict. JBN told him that their separation has to do with resentment between their former generation. JBN also told ZX that from the moment LQ ignored her, questioned her, and even imprisoned her... they had no future!
At this point, I'm hopeful that JBN and LQ are secretly working together to find out who was behind the Li Village massacre, protect each other from the upcoming war, and uncover all of the schemers such as the Empress Dowager, Gao Miring, and Zhao Xiao.
If. they are not secretly working together, I do not see how they can have a happy ever after ending... if there is no trust, how can they be happy being together?

I’m putting this drama on hold until all episodes are released… can’t stand watching Gao getting away with her evil doings by QL and QL’s father… now QL is purposely hurting his wife that he supposedly loves… it’s too hard to watch and waiting for a happy ending for the main leads! I’ve decided to put this drama on hold until all 40 episodes are released after reading the comments on eps 25 & 26 … especially regarding the trailers for eps 33 & 34 🤔 Even though it’s normal for the main leads to have misunderstandings scenes, why must they be added towards the end! How is it possible for the main leads to end up being happy if they lost their trust for each other? If the ML is putting up an act being seen by his wife with another girl to get her jealous or to leave the palace, that is so immature of him to risk losing his wife’s trust in him! Almost feel that the FL’s grandma was right after all by choosing ZX as the best man to be JBN’s husband! Very disappointed in QL, he has put his wife in danger so many times and failing to protect his wife from his so call sister Gao and now drinking with another girl… this is too upsetting that I must put this drama on HOLD until all episodes are released 😬
