Episode 10 was very frustrating and the preview for ep. 10 makes me think I may not enjoy the next one either. I kind of just want the love triangle to be over.
This one will be a hard bet then, because the answer is yes and no. For most of the series, Da Il is not dead…
Or they could go the "Ghost Whisperer" route. When they killed off the FL's husband in that one, they had him inhabiting the body of another man who had just had an accident. They used the same actor and was a way to have them stay together.

I know! Part of me wonders if they saw how successful the "we want to be together but we can't"/ "Romeo x Juliet" thing work in creating that tension between them and that's why they went this route. Because then they would have to keep up wanting them to be together while they can't. Then again, they might've not have thought that far again lol.

I know the feeling. I was actually hoping they would go the more predictable route of him returning to his body and miraculously waking up. At this point, I'm unsure what kind of relationship the leads could have.
I am always bummed when the male leads have such a beautiful friendship and the female lead gets in between. It's, of course, not her fault. But I wished the guys chose friendship over love instead. Or, at the very least, I hope their friendship doesn't suffer.
This is a good article that entices me to give Thai Dramas another chance. I chose Karn La Krang Neung Nai Hua Jai (2016) as my gateway drama and dropped it because the characters behaved so unnaturally, I couldn't suspend my disbelief so much.
Hopefully one of these would be a better representation of Thai quality dramas. :)
As this series is about to end, it struck me how little sense of agency female characters have here. There's only three FCs that are prominent (mom, daughter and detective), but they are mostly kept in the dark and what little they do, has little to no impact on the overall story.
I actually hated that the mom gave up on her dream. I can't help but see it as advice for moms to not dream and only live as part of their children. If they'd introduced that dream arc, they should've seen it through properly.
But I digress... FCs here are really used as reasons and motivations for the male characters. They aren't part of those decisions though. And this last really bothered me. They aren't part of the story so much as props and decorations to be used, worshipped or yearned for by MCs. They may inspire the MCs and move them to action, but their own actions lack purpose or impact.
I've never felt this way about a show even when there's only one prominent female character. Of course we have shows where the FL gets sidelined or ignored towards the end, but this is worst. What they do really has no purpose. Except maybe for the detective (if you squint)... Though, once again, what she has done could've been done by any other detective.
While I don't generally mind if the FL ends up with the 2ML, in this case I happen to like ML a lot more so far. I wonder if the 2ML isn't as annoying in the webtoon.
Oh, no! Then I hope the ending does change! Leads have so much chemistry here, so I much prefer her with the main lead. The second lead I find a little annoying (mostly because he's very pushy).
Who knew this series would have such powerful moments. I am pleasantly surprised how they managed to introduce really touching scenes despite all the comedy and absurdity. This show truly is getting better and better with each episode. Can't wait for next week!
Couldn't have said it any better, I agree with all of your points. Especially because the story dragged a lot for me as they forced a plot to stretch beyond its capacity.
This is the best article on "The Ghost Detective" ever... You've done an amazing job by detailing every tiny bit…
Thank you very much for reading, I am glad you enjoyed the article. I agree, that chemistry between the leads was incredible! I really hope there's a second season, but there's been no news yet on that.
The office series I am currently watching (and enjoying) is "Feel Good to Die" which is hilarious!
Then again, they might've not have thought that far again lol.

But this one has a strong enough core concept that I thought they would stick with that and not pile it up with additional drama.
