I must say I don't like background/flashback/childhoodstories at all. So the first ep was a bit disappointing…
I dislike the long drawn background/flashback/childhoodstories especially in the 50 episode dramas which have 10+ episodes of those.
This one was quite short and not the usual "main lead takes all the hits in the flashback ends up miserable" kind. I liked it, the presentation was excellent.
i was enjoying it then i went to Wikipedia what a sadddddd story about prince sa do,
Its not as captivating as other popular historical dramas as the King barely has any power early on, he is focused on improving administration thus story does not become flashy.
Its more a slow political drama where the King introduces new ideas in the country which were similar to the dreams of SaDo. There is a bit of romance, bromance etc side stories.
If choi jin hyuk wasnt in this drama, i would totally ship the female lead and lee tae hwan ( ep 1 when he protects…
He could be her brother who is alive by some miracle and was adopted by Chang Gi.
They will probably tie together the accident of the unknown woman caused by Chang Gi, the kidnapping and attempted murder of the little brother and a huge main crime which was witnessed by the little brother which caused the whole mess.

Rom com Chinese dramas are rare especially with a naive female lead. The ones that are have have tomboys in Wuxia genre to make up the comedy parts also happy endings are rare.
List of dramas with somewhat naive girls who strive hard and are paired with rich/cold/arrogant/smart guys and the eventual romance comedy ensues.

Craziest ending possible for making everyone somewhat happy
It is possible they need to kill Hyun Wook in an accident and fast forward the story 3 years later or something, SeNa and ShiWoo are married and have a small dog named PingPong while HyunWook and So Eun together in afterlife with DalBong.
Hae Yoon and Jae Young still in a love hate push pull relationship and are working together and now control the music company.
The remaining obscure cast all find someone too randomly
They introduced so many characters just to fill the episodes who don't ever come back.
They put too many things in main story like music industry, competition, love, family, job responsibility, affairs, step mothers/sisters/ illegitimate children etc and then they ignore most of it for the rest of the show.
In the beginning Se Na fit the role with the bland expression but with eventual falling in love, revealed secrets, sadness etc the expression more or less remained same.
The father who was so nice to a stranger who was stupid enough to get drunk and pregnant was cruel to his own son and So Eun.
The whole drama feels like a small idea which was long enough for a movie dragged into a drama with loads of fillers which seem to have failed.
"I am pretty now... But my husband doesn't even look at me"- Sara Maybe this is the real message that…
To do that they should have made the husband a nice guy while she constantly brings trouble to her husband/family. But they made her nice ,hard working ,sincere and dedicated while the society is shallow and her husband and her family are an extreme version of that along with other bad qualities.
With the surgery there is no going back, whatever they show from now on sends the message that you can only do things once you are physically better and beautiful at-least of acceptable levels to society.
