This is really well articulated, and I agree I think this makes the most sense. It's less painful for her the more black and white she can make it in her mind, so that she doesn't have to suffer the cognitive dissonance of killing her lover. clutches my chest I hate this show (I love it)

I was literally just asking myself that same question 🤣🤣🤣🤝 I don't know what I'm going to do when I've finished watching besides repeat the OST and cry. I can't think about anything else anymore

I completely agree, she couldn't take the risk and she had that hanging over her the whole time. I never expected her not to go through with her mission, but I did expect her to do it because she realized the evil bone would bring the demon lord no matter what, and not because of who Tan Tai Jin is as a person. But instead, she lost faith in him as a person despite everything. I was really disappointed with her. I do empathize with them both, but I also want to yell from the mountain tops (at them both honestly, plenty of the time). I really like hearing everyone else's thoughts and experience with it, we all suffer together LOL I am really enjoying the show, I haven't been so consistently drawn to watch a show from the first episode in a long time! I yell, I cry, I laugh, and it all hurts so much but it hurts SO GOOD
Because of first impressions (she saw him killing her parent and her whole sect when he was DG in their actual…
Yeah, I had actually looked up novel discussion before to see the differences, and I was surprised to read people talking about how awful he was to her for basically the whole way through since it completely doesn't align with his portrayal in the drama; I figure they've changed quite a bit! Honestly, she is stuck between a rock and a hard place, but it just makes me want to shake her every time she doesn't have faith in him. The devil bone was a problem and I was ready for her to make the sacrifice anyway (her failure of her mission was totally a foregone conclusion from the start), but her belief in him as a person being shaken so easily disappoints me after she had the scene realizing that he is just Tan Tai Jin. I thought she would lose her faith in her ability to keep him from becoming corrupted, but not her faith in him as a person. Tbh I still kind of like her, but I also want to fight her LMAOOO
[Ep 25] omfg, why is Ye Xi Wu like this? I get why TTJ has trust issues, but why does she constantly just assume the worst of him? Especially when she literally apologized for doing that and PROMISED she would never do that to him again - is it so hard to believe in him? Jfc, she makes so many stupid decisions and then always always just assumes that TTJ is evil. I can't stand her. TTJ deserves better honest to god
The way i kept saying "can this bi*** die?" every minute while watching the dream arc
IKR. She behaved so modestly in that scene, to the point where it felt deliberately leading the 6th prince on.. I'm almost done with episode 18 now and I just want to shout "I KNEW IT" from the mountaintops But I do love her saying how she is different from Tian Huan because she loves herself the most intead of a man, and would only ever kill for herself. What a great, really fun villain line - I love it - I still hate her so much

god tbh I don't like her even as Ye Bing Chang, I didn't like her the moment the camera lingered on her pensive face for too long in the first episodes - it's never a good sign, that girl's got something going on she's no white lotus LOL
TH is one of the worst but hang in there! The dream arc will end at about 1/4 through ep.18 and the events there…
That's the worst part, knowing it's important and I'm too invested to even think about skipping so I just have to watch this car crash in slow motion LMAAOOO
Give me strength... I'm on episode 13 in the dream arc and I feel like choking up blood from having to sit through this spider spinning her web. I already know how this will end and Viki doesn't even have a 2x speed to ease me through the pain
It's funny, normally I'm the first person to say "throw the whole man away" if he's a jerk. But when I watched…
And it's not to say Li Xun is socially perfect, but neither is anyone else in their own ways. To me his actions make sense, especially because he isn't afraid of other people disliking him. Li Xun, in many of the scenes, is who most people wish they could be in those situations, able to stand up for themself.
I feel like people are coming here to say they're dropping it and thats fine, but because he is arrogant? Maybe…
It's funny, normally I'm the first person to say "throw the whole man away" if he's a jerk. But when I watched the beginning (of the college years), personally Zhu Yun, Lao Gao and co were the ones who were too prideful to admit their faults and put on airs! They criticized Li Xun and doubted his talents when he didn't owe them any proof, and even when he proved his skills they still refused to follow directions and take concrit from the one person who knows what he's talking about and has the skills to back it up. That's why Lao Gao was always a jerk, because he let his pride of always being #1 before Li Xun came along turn into an inferiority complex whereas Zhu Yun got over it and learned to work together with him and improve herself before judging others.
Oh my goddddd this was so cuuute! I was so happy to see character development in a way you could tell the characters put serious thought into it, but in a way that felt realistic. The relationship dynamics felt really natural too, and so sweet~ I'm so excited for the special episodes!!
Ah, and I really liked the directing. The camera work went really well with the acting, and they knew exactly when to leave moments completely unaccompanied by the soundtrack. Some dramas can't stand having a single quiet moment, but this series knew that the impact is often strengthened and emotions more relatable than with a soundtrack constantly on blast.
That was a fun ride! The last few episodes, as with the general consensus, were not as great as the rest of the…
Han So Ra really made a lot of the show so entertaining. Han Pan Ro is the main villain but he's very inaccessible due to his lofty position and tactfulness, so Han So Ra was a good way around that. And even though she is a victim of her father, her own victimhood was what ultimately drove her to become a monster as well. If she was a good person like her mother, she wouldn't have lived to adulthood, but the show makes it very clear that she's gone full circle of abused to abuser and is beyond the point of no return. Rather, her upbringing serves as an explanation for all of her behaviour, especially in how childish and broken she acts, with a severe lack of self awareness.
That was a fun ride! The last few episodes, as with the general consensus, were not as great as the rest of the show, but overall a solid watch for me; especially since I usually find some episodes in kdramas to be a drag (mostly in the middle), it was pretty consistently entertaining. I do think the expectations of what to get out of this really affect it, because people who went in expecting something more romantic seem to be dissatisfied with various aspects in that regard. But I went in to watch a human car crash light everything up in flames or drag everyone into the ditch with her. So I had a good time LOL
did not expect lee ra el to confess right in the middle of the series so I'm curious as to how the rest of the…
Hearing it's gonna be a rollercoaster is both exciting and terrifying LOL. It's the first time in a while that I've felt a consistent level of investment in a series, since usually by eps 7-9 the drama starts to wear me out or it starts to feel like a drag. Eve has been hella fun the entire time!! Rather, I think I'm more invested than ever. And I was thinking the same thing about Eun Pyeong!! I think he will either sacrifice himself willingly, or she will lose him as a narrative consequence to her darker actions. It might end up being both actually, and if that's the case, it might just save her from going down a dark path beyond the point of no return.
Is someone feeling the chemistry between the main leads? I'm not. I feel like La El has more chemistry with Eun…
With second leads, usually there is a reason why they're unqualified to be the romantic partner with regards to the thematic narrative. In this case, I feel like the narrative is setting up Eun Pyeong to be unqualified to be her partner because he doesn't understand her the way Yoon Kyum does, and seems to be primarily driven by his guilt towards having failed her family. By comparison, Yoon Kyum and La El are both victims and can project onto each other. Whether or not it will be healthy and lead to them truly understanding one another, I think time will tell. I'm just as unsure as you if La El will come out of this without destroying herself and ending up with no one.
I just started watching this series..... Does it have heavy love triangle?
Not at all, if you pay attention to the subtext throughout Ming Lan's scenes with the secondary love interest, it's clear that the arc with him is to showcase why he isn't a good match for her and why the male lead is - because even though the secondary lead is a perfectly nice guy, he doesn't get Ming Lan and never tries to understand her beyond his image of her. He's nice but inconsiderate towards her without realizing. If she ended up with him she could never be her true self an thus never truly happy. It's not a love triangle but an arc to serve the themes of the story.
Because Chinese/CCP government banned to comics and novels about history fiction of the Uyghurs empires/Tibetan…
That makes a lot of sense, I actually wondered how Xia Da was able to publish the story at the time. Xia Da seems okay, she has since moved on to making a new comic in full colour
