Rewatching for 2nd time. Ji Sung's performance just makes me smile and cracks me up! Park Seo Joon's performance is entertaining and amusing as well. I love how off beat, quarky, and bizarre the show is.
My only issue is the sound.... Oh Ri Jin is loud and screams alot. It absolutely drives me crazy that her screams are mixed a lot louder than the rest of the show. Seriously, let her scream all she wants but can we turn it down to atleast blend in with the rest of the show?
Can anyone help me understand scene at the end of episode 11?
Hyun O goes to the parking garage to meet the former donut shop owner/son in place of Jae Yong [the donut shop was shut down due to an erroneous/false report Jae Yong made 3 years prior]. The former donut shop man plans to kill Jae Yong and when he sees Hyun O show up in the agreed location, the donut shop man speeds toward Hyun O with the intent to kill Jae Yong. Meanwhile, Eun Ho is talking on the phone with Hyun O when the accident occurs. To understand further, you really need to watch episode 12. It explains it in detail.
Go ahead. Hate me for loving it. DID depiction- DID is multifaceted and very different for each person it affects. It is hard for physicians, friends, and families to grasp, let alone portray on a show. Kudos for bringing it up and for not having the characters and audience treat a person with DID in a pathetic, assylum oriented, or pitiful way. Eun Ho/ Hyeri didn't feel like a product of an illness. As a friend of someone with DID and who was treated as a specimen rather than himself, I truly appreciate that.
Great job depicting the different sides of love- good, bad, tough, and inconsiderate decisions trying to balance family and romantic love - things don't always work out - sometimes it's no one's fault but you get screwed over anyways - regrettable decisions made based on pride and arrogance - allowing yourself to love and be loved...
No character was without faults and without making regretable choices. I liked how instead of dwelling on blame, they moved forward to where they should be in a sincere and loving way.
Loved the cast, cinematography, story line, messages, etc. Great balance between main/side stories and present/flashbacks. I thought I knew where the next episode would go but was surprised many times.
Shin Hye-sun and Lee Jin-wook are amazing and they delivered a beautiful and intimate performance, pairing wonderfully together.
I recommend not going into it while comparing it to ifylita. It is not even in the same league (not trying to berate, many aren't). Important note that many have also commented on, the actors are newbies and cast for a show many people have been waiting for. That's rough. There are some similarities, but so far they aren't bothersome or infringing on ifylita.
Had to stop midway b/c it is that good. Feeling caught up & volatile. I will definitely finish it & can feel that it will likely become a favorite. A serious & long bow to Namkoong Min. In a world of many K HisDramas, this stands out. Re comments about Yu Gil Chae being annoying at the beginning- I agree, but I think the performance is delivered as intended.
Going in, know there is a potential to come out feeling unresolved or moody. I liked it b/c it was thoughtful & truly open ended. TBH, the ending threw me for a bit. After reflecting & reading a few reactions, here is my take. As I understand, this is 1st of 3 periods (relationship, adulthood not included). Considering tomorrow (S2), is not guaranteed, I think the final episodes did well to maintain the storytelling, pace, and quality. The end can stand alone or offer a smooth transition if S2 materializes. The NC17 rating. For people who vet what they watch, be cautious of ep 11 (ty markiepooh).
« Why Don’t You Stay » ? as in Kinnporsche Jeff Satur « Why Don’t You Stay » ???? I was about to…
Yes but a different version. A preview is on Jes' IG page with the reel where they are on the boat.
IMO, because it was used with a different show/character dynamic, the song felt much different. I really loved it and now feel like it is 2 songs in 1 (if that makes since). I know some people think in terms of what context or version is better but I don't see that at all. I think that this made me love the song and appreciate Jeff Satur's song writing even more .
As for watching it, since all episode are released, I would suggest to wait until you have a block of uninterrupted time. I don't know if you will be obsessed, but I can say that I rarely rewatch shows and I immediately wanted to rewatch 4 Minutes [the only others I have done that with are KP and IFYLITA].
Wow, fabulous job. It should be left as is instead of crowd pleasing for a S2. Episode 8 melted this Ice Queen's heart. Teared up when Why Don't You Stay started playing (excellent move).
I was left without all of the answers and, yet, I am more satisfied with the conclusion. Also, I was worried that 8 episodes wouldn't be enough, but I feel it was executed well and ended up much more powerful. This will become a staple. [Now I shall go listen to my Jeff Satur playlist and start with....you guessed it- Why Don't You Stay]
Is Gu Xiang that freaking cringe during the whole drama? Ep 1 and already wanting to drop
Yes. I was right there with you, but I didn't drop it. Imo the rest was worth dealing with it. When I blocked her out, I loved it. Some GX parts were less annoying. Some...
Really thought Zhang Zhe Han and Gong Jun both were awesome. But, seriously, Gong Jun made it hard to pay attention to anyone but his character. He nailed WKX's multitude of emotions, had a nice evil crazy look a few times, and wow the "loving" eyes. Irresistible.
Note: I watched on Youku and 1. they didn't show the whole ending (thanks to fans I was able to find and watch it otherwise I would have though less of the show) and 2. Youku doesn't credit Zhang Zhe Han at all and I think that if they want to provide it on their platform then they should be obligated to credit him since he is the ML. What the what.
I read it first. I don't think I could have followed the story had I not read it first. AB is the posterchild for what happens when a govt is hell bent on censoring. It isn't even a proper bromance as censorship destroyed this show to the point that it is incoherent. I don't consider it "sanitized" because it is more like nonexistence of the story or main points. I am saddened that the hard work of the dedicated cast and crew (and resources) was made to look like the story went through a paper shredder. I can only see this show is an attempt of the govt to keep this from being popular like Addicted was. If the world is more enlightened in the future and there is a remake I will still be pissed because I want AB with Gong Jun and Xufeng.
