For the genre and budget, it was fairly good. The series had an impressive amount of passionate kissing scenes (esp for Cdrama). Caution- if plot holes bother you, the last 3rd of the series might be rough.
finished episode 1 and i don't understand why li rong died of the poison and su rong qing didn't -- he drank from…
The answer is the basically the main storyline of the series. If I answered, it would ruin abt 75% of the show. What I will say is that I found it interesting and multilayered (there are many angles to the complete answer dispursed throughout the series).
I am rewatching this drama and I still dont understand why FL save SRQ in the OG timeline. They barely know each…
My impression is that in both times 1. they were childhood friends, 2. he fell in love with her when she was little, and 3. she genuinely liked him since they were young. I think in the first timeline, he wasn't an option for marriage and after her relationship with PWX, she fell in love with PWX and saved SRQ because he was her friend and a good person.
After her marriage fell apart, she became close again/kept SRQ by her side and fell in love with him (he was already in love with her and was happy to take PWX's place as he was considered an unloving husband at that time).
Even though in the second timeline, when SRQ reveals his secrets to her and she says she regrets saving him, she doesn't behave that way after she comes out of shock. I think she never regretted saving him. She was very disappointed in him and sad about his choices but she didn't regret the choice she made.
Many c (hist) dramas have been boring me lately, but I decided to give this a go. I generally liked it and watched all 40 ep (a feat for me). Tbs, I would have liked it much more without the last half of the last episode. The last half of the last ep felt like some subpar piece attached at the end. I haven't read it so I don't know if that is the original ending and if so if I would have liked the book better. As for the series, it didn't work for me (but I liked the rest).
Someone writing this has had experiences with very immature girlfriends. In our story, there are quite the variety of what not to do girlfriends. And that is where the FF function on the remote came in quite handy. That being said, Chen Bo Lin.
The ending was a bit much for me. And, isn't there an important person overlooked in the last part.
Chen Bo Lin pulled me through and that was no easy feat considering it should have been edited down to half the episodes.
Apparently someone got really, really strunk before writing episode 12. It ruined the entire series for me. I seriously can't understand where in the hell this episode came from and why anyone allowed it to pass go.
Almost passed on it but I'm glad I gave it a chance. I didn't expect much from Win and I was wrong. I think he nailed it. The dishelveled... he owned it. Imo, the synopsis didn't fit well at al. Different than I expected but that was a good thing and sets this apart. And, I like others, I thought they did a great job on the English. I liked the multilingual layering alot.
I love that it is an artsy series about artists which has a completely different feel than it's Korean counterpart, which is a drama about artists. The production quality is great and tbh wayyyyy better than what I am used to seeing in a Jdrama. I feel these two factors alone really make this series shine bright when compared the Korean version (don't get me wrong, I dig the original too).
3 episodes in, the Japanese version does well in holding true to the Korean story, but it does condense it alot. I am unsure whether I would have seen the scene seaming for the main couple as artsy or a bit confusing if I hadn't watched the Korean version first. (So far) the stories surrounding the secondary couples is skeletal. Also notable is that the soundtrack was minimal and in this aspect the Korean version easily dominated.
On a personal note- Yokohama Ryusei 's portrayal of Ren surpasses Song Kang's Jae-eon. SK's portrayal of Jae-eon as a talented playboy girl magnet was well done. But YR... damn! He made my heart flutter.
Probably one of the most enjoyable first episodes I have seen in awhile. Ab loved the Divorce Ceremony.
It's a great Romcom. Conflicts arise but are dealt with in a timely manner. It doesn't get heavy. I have been watching some intense dramas recently so it was nice to have a drama where characters have faith in one another and aren't easily manipulated by instigators.
If you are game for a romcom, I suggest checking it out.
The actors played their parts well (nice since many dramas cast attractive faces over skills, esp in this genre). Li Yun Ri nailed it, especially his nonverbal acting/expressions. I'm curious to check out his other work.
Overall I liked it. Dark, disturbing, historic kdrama not shying away from naughty.
IMO, the biggest issues were the extended night scenes and misplaced sensationalism.
I understand the story mostly takes place in a 24 hr period and the night was long and perilous. However, as a viewer, the lighting and my lack of ability to see some of the details etc due to the dark/night scenes, made it feel drawn out to me.
I had no problem with racy sex scenes but it needs to have a place in the story. I agree with some other comments that a few racy scenes didn't work with the show and only served as sensationalism. I didn't care for that and feel it weakened the show.
Overall, I enjoyed the acting, especially Ji Chang Wook. He was great and I liked the unique chemistry between him and Jeong Jong Seo. Today I completed the last 2 episodes and today I learned of Song Jae Rim's death. I thought he did a great job and I am saddened that he won't be part of any sequels etc. Lee Soo Hyuk nailed it on interesting, creepy, deranged villian.
Regardless of my critiques, I liked it and recommend it if you are ok with dark stories that have extended violence and sexual content.
Disappointed. I tried to be optimistic about the series but I didn't care for it. Just, overall, disappointing. There were a few lines I liked. That's about it. I haven't read it and wonder if it is better. However, after watching I have no desire to.
When did they get together?Any breakups or love triangle?Happy ending?
I don't want to leave you hanging but, for this show, those questions are not easy for me to answer. Throughout the show the answers to those questions change and the answer to them really depends on your perspective. Breakups -yes and no at the same time. Love triangles- yes and no at the same time. Nothing is typical in the show (which follows the entire concept). HE yes. Sorry for maybe the most unhelpful response. I didn't want to leave you hanging but the answers are subjective and any thorogh answer may make it pointless to watch.
I will say any romantic parts are not sad, gutwrenching or with typical drama break ups. It talks about past trauma (the show is a mystery trying to figure out what the trauma actually is), is upbeat and funny, and is emotional but in an atypical way.
I'm so confused from the synopsis is the ml involved with 3 females
Semi-spoiling He is married (1), has an affair (2) and has a long relationship with her after divorcing but never really loves her (he does like her a lot), then after 4 years and his wife's personality changing to resemble more of how she was before he orig fell for her /a better version, he falls back in love with her (so back to 1st lady). Overall, it is about a couple who experiences infidelity, breaks up, reencounters each other, and goes down a long, twisted road to either tear down their walls and open up to each other or learn to process, move on, and coexist on their own. Not only do they have many obstacles, but they have people going above and beyond to sabbotage them personally and as a couple.
I'll start with the soundtrack on this one. As far as the OST goes, I totally fell in love with Time by Ryu, Lonely Poem, and Lonely Street. It would have been worth it just to discover those songs. And the Howl's Moving Castle theme- very cool choice to use it.
To my surprise, I really liked it. It was very emotional for me. Ji Jin Hee is why I watched it and I thought he was amazing. I'm not sure I would have liked it if there was a different Choi Jin Eon. I felt the chemistry between JJH and KHJ.
It went in a direction I haven't watched much in kdramas (usually synopsis would have turned me off). It was the definition of long melodrama, but the main couple's story kept drawing me in further (despite fast forwarding secondary lines that I got tired of). I would have edited down the script though. 50 ep was a bit much. Still, I recommend it. You just need to be up for a long ride.
