Glad someone noticed that too, based on the responses I got- you're one of the few mature and self aware people that I would enjoy watching/discussing a tv show with lol
She was even more ruthless in the novel. They have literally toned down both duke su and xue li by a lot from…
You don't need to attack me personally by questioning my expectations. Its not so serious.
I mainly meant it was a "character flaw, " period. If she did things like that throughout the drama then I can live with the fact that cruel revenge and plotting is part of her character, but something like that randomly popped up at episode 35, after 35 episodes of her simply being the "good innocent pure victim."
Nothing wrong with critique when watching a drama, its like trying to silence my observations just because you don't agree. You don't need to try and control the narrative, let people have their own observations freely, and you're free to do the same.
She's not playing a petty trick. She's fighting for their lives. If the princess doesn't unravel the whole empire…
She is fighting for her and her loved ones lives, yes. Did she play a dirty trick to move a milestone in her plan? Also yes.
The princess killed the imperial doctor, before she did- she mentioned that she will leave his family alone.
Jiang Li never even tried to look for the physican, so no she never thought of "picking him up later," she went on as if nothing major happened.
Let's also not ignore the fact that Jiang Li is a very good liar, sure its mostly bc she has a false identity, but she pathalogically manipulates and lies to get her way. Maybe not as cruely as the princess.
We tend to forget or ignore when the main leads do cruel things or crimes for the sake of their character development and always side with them no matter what. But hold any other character accountable for what they do and label them as "evil."
We need to be okay with acknowledging that even main leads can have some darkness to their character, and not jump at any opportunity to defend and constructive criticism of their character.
This is a revenge story. Itβs impossible to get revenge on someone, especially someone as powerful as princess…
Did you not see the scene when she was talking with Duke Su and said that based on the Princess's personality/patterns, she predicted something will happen to the imperial doctor and didn't act surprised?
A revenge story caused by people dying unfairly due to plotting and corruption, doesn't mean she has to get other's involved in her revenge and use them as a pawn. Its one thing if she directs her revenge at her enemy without harming others, but another thing to know someone will get harmed and still do it for the sake of her "plan" that may or may not even work.
Yes Jiang Li did "calculate the variables," and as she said her plan took a slightly "different turn" when the princess got married to Duke Li instead of Shen. So yes she knew what she did, just bc she didn't directly get her hands dirty, didn't mean she didn't know what was gonna happen.
Nothing wrong with holding someone accountable for something they stirred up to begin with.
Can we truly blame Jiang Li and Duke Su for that tho? The princess didn't have to kill the physician, she chose…
o you recall when the Princess told the imperial doctor to be taken to drink some "tea"? and that he doesn't have to worry about his family? I'm sure we all know what they mean by tea/medicine in such a situation so yes he was killed
So are we just supposed to ignore that someone might have died just because Jiang Li decided to play a petty trick on the princess? We get the revenge plot with Jiang Li and Duke Su since both their parents were unfairly killed without justice. But getting an innocent person killed like a pawn, while knowing the imperial doctor would likely be harmed or killed?
It really irked me how Jiang Li and Duke Su shared a "knowing look," guessing the princess would kill the imperial doctor after he evaluated her fake pregnancy to silence him. It's one thing if Jiang Li innocently didn't know an imperial doctor would get harmed, but admitting that she knew he would get harmed by her dirty trick, smiling, and acting like she knew this would happen, showing no remorse?
It wasn't even a real pregnancy, just a fake one plotted by Jiang Li. And she shows no remorse for getting someone killed, just like the people she hates did to her family? Ugh, that makes me mad. Liked her and Duke Su until now. What a character flaw. So much for someone who supposedly cares about people's lives. The imperial doctor wasn't even her enemy, just a worker who happened to work for the royal family, like Duke Su and anyone else.
If you've watched beyond this, don't spoil it for me just to prove a point lol.
I did personally see the chemistry/romance between Yi Heon and Se Kyung, which makes sense since its a censored…
It is based on a BL manhwa/novel, the original story is BL, not my fried up imagination. Good on the actors for displaying the chemistry despite the censoring.
Homophobia is a YOU problem, go cry in a corner for all I care if you're gonna come at me all negative and shit.
I heard the sinister fantasy supernatural Moonlit Reunion which will come out in 2025, the plot involves the female…
The plot for Moonlit Reunion is definitely my cup of tea, thank you for recommending it!
Yeah what I mean by identity swap is really any of the following: involuntary body swap where 2 people switch bodies/souls (like Moonlit Reunion), twins or identical people who voluntarily switch identities, a twin or identical person taking the identity of their lookalike who died to get revenge, someone who fakes their identity takes on another's identity for revenge (like in The Double), one way body swap where person A's soul moves into person B's soul but person A's body dies so they have to stay in person B's body (like in "High School Return of a Gangster).
Pretty much any body swap, identity swap, doppleganger swap etc
lol historical ancient flirting is so much hotter than modern flirting cause there's always that added element…
Haha thank you for the additional suggestions, now I'll defienltly have something to watch after this and keep the dopamine hit going xD
Yeah now that I think about it, I've heard of Nirvana in Fire but read spoilers of the end and was scared to watch it, idc if there's a of bloodshed as long as main leads are at least reborn and reunited xD. But since its so recommended, I may finally watch it

Thank you I'll for sure watch Nirvana in Fire too! I do tend to like longer drams, that's why I watch hundreds of dramas in a year but barely 1 movie lol. I also thrive for revenge plots!!
This is a random thought but the gangster is at least in his 40s-50s, so while he's in the high school boy body and decides to date someone of the same age group as the high school boy, isn't that considered pedophelia? Idk just a random logical thought lol

I've been trying to figure that out myself, but kept my logical brain in the closet so I can enjoy it xD

Ashile Sun and Duke Su are the real deal and set the standard high!
