Well I'm here to pour some sunshine to this comment section. Seems like people are getting bored of the slowness of the plot. Tbh, I'm really loving it! I love the slow burn romance they're building up. I mean it feels quite natural that way. They did indicate from the beginning what kind of a character JYZ is. He is cold and distant. And SL is the total opposite to it. Also JYZ seems to come with a lot of emotional baggage, we're yet to unravel it. So I don't think it'll be right to make JYZ and SL seal it so soon. I love how gradually they're opening JYZ's character layer by layer. And we've come to a delicate turning point with that after the latest episode. I dunno if it's just me, these kinda romances gives me the most feels. Like I know it's cliche but it's so soft and caring. The plot is simple yet intriguing. I like how they don't rush it. I know it's frustrating to wait, and given the short episodes it's almost unbearable. But still I love it. And the cast is doing a great job too. I love how the second couple is taking the lead here, in a way they're keeping the audience excited while giving the mains the time to come to their finish line. I always watch this with a smile and it's honestly a good watch to end a tiring week. Especially when you're working from home! I really hope people would love this show more. It's not supposed to be this complex, dramatic story. It's more of a cliche, but sweet kinda one which is for healing and happiness. And the cast deserve more love too. Also after knowing Aaron was actually in an accident and those scars are real and this being one of his comeback projects, I want people to appreciate it more and give it more love! Cuz honestly they do deserve it!
CQL/MDZH was always in my "To be watched" list since the series came out. Even the first time I heard the novel was translated to English, I knew I had to read it. But somehow time was an obstacle so I never watched nor read the story. They were both long to watch and read. Then the pandemic happened so here I am. A completely changed person. I had forgotten about it and accidentally came across this XZ/WY video on insta. And also got to know some surprising turn of events that lead to a situation regarding XZ. I really was sad to know they weren't publicly appearing no more. And it's almost been an year. I have missed so much, so I gave a try to watch the series again while reading the book cz after some research found out it was a bit confusing at first. Well reading the story while watching it kinda actually did help cz the confusion in the first few episodes were cleared up. Best decision ever. It was a rollercoaster ride from then on. I found out about the Donghua, the Manhua and the Audio drama. I've currently finished the series and the main story of the novel, keeping the extra chapters cz I don't wanna let go of them yet! This story was immaculate. It impacted me in an undescribable way. Actors did a perfect job in their portrayal of the characters. It was as if each character was written FOR them. Just phenomenal. Though with heavy censorship I believe they were able to convey the message of the novel perfectly. Eyes can speak beyond words and simple gestures can give a lot of meaning to the situation. If someone asks me what's the Greatest fictional romance I know, it'd definitely be MDZS, without doubt. But this was much more than romance, it was about sacrifices, losses and pain, families and about the people you cherish. Author made a heavenly story, kudos to her creativity and imagination. Since I'm in this black hole I don't think I'll ever get out. And I won't mind being stuck here. Overall, this has been an amazing adventure. It ripped my heart into pieces, made me cry till my eyes were swollen and made me smile like an idiot. Kudos to the production team, the cast and everyone involved. They made a cinematic masterpiece. I will always keep coming back to WangXian and their journey. Hope the fandom stay strong and pray for a day that we can see them together on one stage again.
I finally mustered up my courage to finish this. I couldn't do it last week cz I didn't want it to end. But I did it today. I cried, I giggled, cried more and giggled more. One the BEST BEST BEST series I've watched so far! I think this is the second best Thai BL for me after ITSAY. The story is one of a kind. It warms up anyone's heart and gives you this longing for a love that's beyond a 1000 stars. I love the friendships, the hardships, the companionship it portrayed! I felt like I was in Pha Pun Dao with Tian. I love how the story not only focused on the romance but also on other perspects in life! After seeing BTS videos on what the production team went through to bring this series to life, gotta say every single breath they put in to this literally paid off. Not a single shot was wasted for nothing. They deserve the recognition. The spotlight! Aof is truly an amazing director. EarthMix pairing was one of a kind, their chemistry was an utter delight to watch. The rest of the cast too did an amazing job! Overall this series was a cinematic masterpiece! I hope other BLs would take notes from a show like this on how to do a story with a unique plot without always going with lousy stories just for the sake of popularity and clout. I am kinda tired of seeing over-sexualized BLs. Sometimes all we need is a good plot and some good eye acting! Intimacy is such a tricky thing, you don't always need skin on skin to show it, but some great acting through facial expressions is enough to make a lasting impression on the audience. And EarthMix did exactly the same. I honestly didn't even care whether they kissed or not at the end cz the amount of feels they gave me throughout just by their stares were enough to make my heart weak and stomach fill with butterflies. Also, Kudos to the whole team involved. It was a brilliant production. The author of the book was a phenomenal storyteller! This will go in to my list of the very few BLs that I'm sure I'll never get tired of and will keep coming back to rewatch! Thank you for a rollercoaster ride of emotions and lots of unconditional love! I'm leaving with a warm heart and a peaceful mind! I will miss my Fridays filled with feels!
I think it's best to watch this show without thinking too much in to it. They seem to be cute shorts without much depth and seriousness and I think I can do it. Honestly the Tuesday story was really cringy and I want to know what they were thinking when they wrote that script! Clearly the actors need a lot of training, especially the guy who played Ake. He seemed to have only one expression throughout. But since I managed through the cringe guess I should give it credit for trying at least. Hope the other stories won't be as cringy, and they can redeem for the first storyline's lousy story. I suppose they would've made it better with a more consistent script but they just didn't. For an example I like what SK's BLs doing right now, though the episodes are really short the plot is strong and the acting is superb. It's a good example for quality over quantity. Looking forward for the next episodes cz we will be seeing some familiar faces with decent acting, so hopefully Y-Destiny wouldn't be just another BL made for the sake of popularity and trend.
If Sam was fully drunk he wouldn't have been able to nail all the emotions with nuance and skill, all the facial…
I just don't want the actors to feel bad after seeing many negative comments when they've clearly done a great job here. It was a script after all and this was farrrrr better than some dramas where they glorify force intimacy when here it was clearly vulnerability in both characters sides.
If Sam was fully drunk he wouldn't have been able to nail all the emotions with nuance and skill, all the facial…
I know right?! I completely agree with you. I know some may find the sofa scene a bit uncomfortable and they have honestly have reasons to. But I tried to think from both characters perspectives so I kinda understood why they did it the way they did. Sam acted just the way a drunk lover would be like when he's in love and pain at the same time, and Yu acted just as a lover who's in love and denial at the same time! I would've questioned it a bit if the consent completely went one way and it was totally one sided, but from the get go Shu Yo tho being in denial started to kiss Shi De back. And when Shi De started to cry and kept apologizing he knew there was far more to the story than what Shi De lead on. Shu Yi clearly wanted him to tell him the truth but emotions took over for both of them. I felt Shi De was covering his vulnerability with his aggressiveness. And Shu Yo was covering his concern with his resistance. That scene was a hearbreaking scene. And I thought both of them executed it so damn well!
Came here mostly for Sam. I just wanted to praise him for today's episode cz he was definitely the MVP of the night. I know people have a lot of concerns about the aggressive/rapey nature of the sofa scene and Sam being actually drunk. But as far as I know he only took a couple of shots before doing it and wasn't completely drunk, I'm pretty sure he knew what he was supposed to do. People seem to exaggerate it a bit. Anyhow, yes it was aggressive, yes I agree it could've been a little softer. It is a drama and guess they're are bound to make it more dramatic and outta line a bit. Honestly I didn't give too much thought in to the aggressiveness cz I tried to see it more from both the characters perspective. Shi De was obviously overwhelmed with emotions and Shu Yi, tho he doesn't want to admit couldn't downright deny him. He was kissing him back everytime, even when Shi De was forceful. But that doesn't completely justify how Shi De acted. Still I don't think that scene was necessarily bad as some viewers making it out to be. And Sam being drunk whatsoever doesn't make him a bad actor. I'm pretty sure it must've been a couple of shots to make the scene more realistic and get in to character according to the particular nature of that scene. More or so he did sort of a method acting too. And some of it being improvised as well. Which also makes it a point why some take it as a reason to think that scene was bad. This is just my opinion, and I do understand that anyone can disagree, you're welcome to have your say too. From Shi De sitting outside to him crying to him silencing Shu Yi with soft kisses, I was fukn stunned by Sam's delivery! It was super raw. Yu always surprises me with his greatness and I'm still surprised he's a newbie. But today, that few minute scene and that screen time was owned by Sam! It wasn't a hot scene for me, it was rather a painful, angsty, vulnerable heartbreaking scene! Lot of untold truth! Taiwan BLs are undoubtedly God Tier! Even with short episodes they deliver such quality content! And mostly with new actors too! Just amazing! Anyways, today the spotlight was definitely on Sam, and Yu equally supported the cause! Maybe some of us do have moral concerns, but the overall episode for me personally was delivered flawlessly!
Absolutely loved this drama. One of the best I've seen lately in k-dramaland. The first half of the plot was very fast paced and engaging, I do have to admit tho the second half felt a little slow. Overall pacing was good and I love that they managed to wrap up nicely. About the love story, I do have to agree with some of the viewers on how the romance was mostly between Cheoljong and Bong Hwan. And So Yong's involvement was quite less. I really wanted BH's quirkyness and the bad ass attitude to stay with So Yong but seems it all completely left her only leaving some of the memories. Because the void of BH's personality in SY is quite visible and even the King feels it. What writers missed here is they wrote their love story based on BH's personality, SY must've been there but BH was already overpowering it. Because as it was shown King and SY had a broken relationship when BH took over SY. King thought he cared for Hwa Jin more, which was the case and always left for her for solace. What made King look at SY and made him rethink his perception towards his Queen was BH's personality. It genuinely made Cheoljong curious on finding more about SY and her true motives. So I think BH literally paved the way for the King for SY's heart so the writers could've made the wise choice to not completely write out BH from SY at the end. But I'm happy we got our well deserved ending. I really liked it and I'm sure this will bag a couple of awards for it's performance.
Okay finally finished watching. Omgaaaaaahd. It was superrrrr sweet! I loved the series and I super love the movie! The whole cast did great and it's the perfect present for Valentine's. Tony and JC were just perfect! Couldn't be more happier than this. Thanks for giving this joy ride and making us happy during trying times like this!
I got invested in WBL the moment I laid my eyes on it and it was the right thing to do so. Yu is exceptionally good for an amateur and you can say he's a natural! No doubt on Sam cz the boy is charming enough and I love how he expresses his emotions. Loooooove the first season! A refreshing story. Great acting from everyone. I wished we could've seen more in to the relationship of Bing Wei and Zhe Yu. We didn't get to see them becoming a pair properly. They are really cute together. Shi De and Shu Yi are just perfect. Chemistry is in sync and they are a delight to watch. Gotta say that last scene slapped hard, literally too (≧▽≦) Shu Yi went all in. I felt it through the screen! Bahahaha I kinda knew Shi De had it coming. I think we'll start S2 just as S1, only our OTP are now grown up and working men. They'll go back to bickering with each other, lol! And of course with the pent up angst and passion I'm looking forward to a fiery romance. Excited for the doc's story too. Hopefully we'll get more Bing Wei and Zhe Yu also. March do come soon. Waiting is hard.
I love how Korea is becoming bolder and bolder with their BLs. They are discovering the power it holds when the production consists of a good plot and a great cast. I don't mind how they're airing the episodes too, shorter episodes but 2/3 each per week. It's understandable that they still can't make full length episodes but these attempts are working very well. I actually love the shorter episodes. If the story is good and the cast can pull it off, there's nothing more you could ask for. I'm sure if they keep up with this progression, we'll have a full length series one day. Starting from WYEL, all K-BLs aired have been really good. Very light-hearted, non-toxic, fluffy and cute. To My Star is my favorite so far. They really took it an extra mile with this drama. I love the contrast between Seo Joon & Ji Woo. The definition of an introvert and an extrovert! Their chemistry was on point. I love how subtly they showed their love for each other! I admire how expressive and bold Seo Joon was, we need more characters like that in dramas. He never left feelings unsaid and didn't let miscommunication nor misunderstandings hinder their relationship. He was like no drama in my territory. I loved how he was open to revealing their status to the public if Ji Woo was okay with it, tho he is the celebrity. Shows how much he cherished Ji Woo. And loved how silently Ji Woo took care of Seo Joon. Oh my!!! They were perfect for each other! Looooooooved the ending, I was pleasantly surprised, and my uwuness intensified in tenfold! Best way to wrap up the show! Kudos to the production team, they did a splendid job. The actors should get more recognition, and hope this will help them get the spotlight they deserve. Korea is the next big country taking over the BL world. And we ain't complaining! Keep it coming baby!
Loved it! Easily one of my Absolute favorites now! There wasn't a single dull moment. Plot was consistent. It was fast paced and on point. Can't wait for the next season \(^o^)/
Omg Shi De & Shu Yi are gonna be the death of me!!! 5th episode was so beautiful. I love how they showed Shu Yi's feelings progress from "I don't want to like a boy" to "I miss him like crazy". They managed to show that his affection wasn't about pitying Shi De's feelings but actually falling for him slowly. I like that Shu Yi wasn't forced to like him overnight or something but gradually comes to a realization of his true feelings towards him. I'm impressed with the actors, especially Yu cz as I heard this is his debut role. I really loved the confession scene. Both of them were genuinely crying. It was very well executed. I really felt the emotions. Taiwan really is the best in quality for BLs! I'm also excited for our secondary male lead couple Bing Wei & Zhe Yu as well. Love to see how their cute relationship builds. Sam and Yu are exceptional in this series. I pretty sure they're gonna blow up from this, and be their big break! Looking forward to the last episode and S2 (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
Ummmm can someone tell if there's a spin-off or an alternate timeline for this movie as another show? Cz I accidentally saw clips of them being in school again and it seems like a different timeline. I didn't understand since it was in Taiwanese. Seems to be airing in Netflix. I'd love to know some details! It's on Insta and Youtube.
Omg,,,,loveeeeed the 4th episode! We got some giddy scenes this week. I was a puddle while watching it. My Friday's are definitely better with this and the Korean BL To My Star! Taiwan really knows how to make quality BLs! Hope this show gets the recognition it deserves! Can't wait for next week!
I enjoyed S2 as much as I did S1. I binged both seasons back to back, I patiently waited for it to finish cz I wanted to binge! I do understand some are disappointed with the ending, well I too would've like it if it turned out the way it was originally planned, I mean they went through hoops to bring Chang back to palace in one piece. And he basically washed it down the drain ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I do understand the reason tho, but it was a little underwhelming tbh. And also seems like we won't be getting a S3 any sooner but rather a spin-off. Guess we'll have to wait a bit for that to happen. But I am super excited for the spin-off, given the goddess JJH is there! Hope it'll be as interesting as the parent story! Very much looking forward to it. Overall S2 was pretty good but S1 felt pretty awesome and a little more exciting than S2. But I enjoyed both seasons very much. The whole production is anyways going down as one of the BEST of all!
Hands down one of the best shows out there. The plot, the acting, the action, the thrill, the whole damn production is a cinematic masterpiece! There's no time for loopholes, it flows so effortlessly. You don't have time to even think of theories, the story is so fast paced yet everything is in place perfectly. Love, love, loved it!!! I binged it overnight, and it was a fukn rollercoaster ride. Never felt such an adrenaline rush over a TV series in long ass time. This is a definite MUST watch!
I dunno about others. But I frekkn loved it! It was a good start for a first 2 episodes. I see some complaining about the cliché plot, but for me after a tired week of working and stressing out, watching something cute and funny is a breath of fresh air! Plus, the leads chemistry is on point. I was gonna decide to continue watching based on their acting, cz I really despise BL cringe acting, guess I'll keep on watching. They're actually good. I don't see any awkwardness at all. Really looking forward to seeing how the story develops. And it's already good news knowing that it has a sequel coming up as well. Seems like the producers have good faith in it. Given it's a Taiwanese BL, I'm expecting a satisfactory ending too. Let's see what future holds. Anyone having doubts to start this, please go ahead you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's actually cute.
It was such a beautiful cinematic journey! Loved every bit of the movie. Bittersweet yet fulfilling. I'll have my own ending to it. Loved the songs, I'm gonna keep them on repeat for awhile. A good attempt by the director. I like the realistic touch to it. All stories doesn't have fairytale endings, and given the context of the plot and the true events it was based upon, I think the ending was satisfactory. Edward and Tseng did amazingly well, I was frekkn emotional throughout. Hope this movie will bring more light to the message it carries and people will be more welcoming and loving of eachother. I can't imagine what most people in the LGBTQ+ community must've been through during those times and still go through to this date. I hope for a day when all people will be able to give love and get loved unconditionally.
that after the latest episode.
