Another feel good BL from Japan. It's cliche, stereotypical and the same recycled plot. But most importantly it put a stupid smile on my face and gave me butterflies. Bahaha love the main characters. They're unapologetically dramatic. lol. Love the over exaggerated love Kaneda has for Senpai and how Senpai seems to be in love with Kaneda from the first day itself. Throwing aside the logic, unoriginality and the predictability, you can't deny the cuteness overload and hilarity. This and Old Fashion Cupcake give me the weekly doses of serotonin I need. There's something about J-BLs that make them naturally adorable even with overly dramatic plots and acting. That whole country is undeniably the ones who can be cute without even trying. Anyways, I'm loving the show so far. If you want to feel good at the end of the week, and want to watch something simple and cute. This is it. Sometimes we just need to relax and watch a feel good show.
Goshhh YinWar is literally delivering without holding back. Damn episode 3 was all about feels. I feel sorry for both Vee and Mark. Mark for always falling for the wrong dude. Vee for not taking a stand for himself. Both of them for having to suppress their feelings for each other. Vee is obviously wrong and is also a cheater, but damn we can't help but feel sorry for him. Like he's a jerk but still you want him to have his happy ending. I felt sorry for Mark the most. He's always the one to get hurt. And this is just the beginning. The jealousy, angst, sadness everything was snowballing and on top of that to get being honest blown up in his face. In a way Vee just can't put his recent nemesis-turned-beloved-nong above his 3yr girlfriend. But gosh the way that 2 faced bish pretended to be lovely knowing she's actively cheating AND she knows the nextdoor neighbor too knows it but still went on with her act is just beyond me. Love Mechanics has come so far since their En Of Love days. The replacements of BarRen makes so much sense here and it suits the series more. YinWar is exceptional in their roles, I was so focused the entire time. The story is good, acting is wonderful, chemistry on point and beautiful cinematography. I hope they keep a consistent plot. So far everything makes sense and suits this kinda plot. We are sure to go through a rollercoaster of emotions with this series, more crying and angst. So much more to come and I can't wait to see how it goes.
Gahhh, Nozue and Togawa is giving me butterflies left and right. They've done this series wonderfully. It has the right amount of fluff and a consistent story. And it's all about the main characters only. No side couples, no unnecessary drama, it's straight to business. I love how Togawa isn't shy and ain't beating around the bush. It's hilarious to see how dense our cute Nozue-san is. Lol. I wish it was a bit longer. We need to see more fluff between these two. The fiction aside, it also gives hope to not give up on life's simple luxuries just because we think we're getting old. We miss out on most things that could bring happiness easily thinking we're too late. It's never too late. Whether it's finding a partner, landing a job, starting on your own, going on a Spontaneous trip or even staying home, just go for it. Having little to no regrets when you're at the end of your journey is the best possible feeling. I believe we all can do it. One of my own simple happinesses is waiting for this drama each week. It's actually simple as that. Bahaha.
I'm giving this drama the benefit of the doubt and see how it goes. It's one of those awfully slow-burn ones where they keep us in agony till the last moment to give all sunshine and rainbows. Just like Be Loved in House, if anyone who'd seen it would know how slow it was, but I still liked the pace and liked how it tortured us till the end. Lol. Anyways, whatever Ji Woo's reason is, it better be a good one for ghosting Seo Joon on his birthday and left him to make him come all the way to find Ji Woo. If he wanted to break-up at least he could've given closure to Seo Joon. Given how Seo Joon's personality is it's totally valid for him to be frustrated and not moving on yet. How could he when his partner left him without any reason, leaving him hanging. Ji Woo at least could've made up something believable if he really wanted that much to get away. Obviously we'll later on know he did it for the sake of Seo Joon's own good, I mean they're after all the main characters and we know Ji Woo still cares under that stubborn exterior. I'm still up for the slow pace, as long as it gives us closure in the end. And not leave us hanging. So yeah, I'm keeping my faith on this series. I loved the 1st season. The actors have wonderful chemistry. Good production too. So let's see.
Ok the first 2 episodes were actually better than I thought. I fell for YinWar in En Of Love and fell harder in The Best Story. Especially the latter cz I thought both of them were just spectacular in it. Yin's acting has improved immensely and War has always been an ace at speaking with his eyes. Well we already know about the cheating plot, it hurts to see them doing that to each other. Mark is only gonna get hurt more and given how deeply he gets attached and how he craves attention, this whole ordeal is literally the invitation to a messy heartbreak. Though Ploy too may not be the sweet caring girlfriend she appears to be like, for now in our eyes, Vee is a frekn hypocrite and a cheater. Mark has tried to keep a distance but seems like not anymore. I mean how can he, when Vee is like a frekn leech! Some scenes didn't fit well with me, the opening sex scene and that psycho grabbing Mark outta the blue. The sex scene wasn't written right, it was supposed to be an immoral act but they could've written it better to show the correct wrongness of it. Tho both YinWar pulled it off so well as VeeMark it didn't make any sense. Vee wasn't as drunk as Mark and as the dude who hated Mark and wanted to beat him a few seconds ago, he surely submitted to the persuasion of a drunkard who's barely in his senses. Maybe they didn't want it to be shown as a rape scene. Psycho scene was not very realistic but Yin's acting there just got me. Overall, both the pilot episodes were pretty good. Changing BarRen actually turned out to be better than I expected. I waited for so long for love mechanics to become a full length series. I hope we'll get a consistent storyline. The acting, cinematography, music and the whole aesthetic has been satisfying so far. Hope they'll keep it up.
Episode 8 was honestly so wholesome. Based on the relationship built-up between KinnPorsche I actually didn't feel anything lacking in the episode. Apparently most fans were waiting for VegasPete according to the comments and twitter. I do understand the frustration tho, we didn't even get a glimpse of Vegas today. But I'm still happy that they gave us a full first date couple dump with butterflies and rainbows. I have to praise the palpable chemistry between MileApo. It's not the grand gestures that take my attention rather the small things between them which are far more endearing and heartwarming. Also them being totally in heat was such a sight to watch. Lol!
1. Not them being so soft in bed the morning after a long, hot night! It was so adorable. Love how Porsche was telling Pete his legs were still shaking after getting punished so hard and Pete just encouraging him to hang in there. I bursted with the biggest laugh! And oh my, Porsche putting out his inner seductress with that crawl to bed with his perky booty up will live in my mind rent free! Lol!
2. Bahaha under the table footsies leading up to some button popping-clothes ripping-neck licking-pushed against the door screen-lifted up and straddled around the waist-and-kissed intensely-outta the frame love making!
p.s. Long time no see Ken! At least we saw him briefly today!
3. Not Porsche being so sweet and vulnerable about being in love with a man for the first time. His genuine concern for him and how he opened up to his friends was so sincere. It shows how his feelings runs so deep for Kinn. Bahaha the man's so whipped he had to Google how to make his first date perfect!
4. That whole damn first date made my face hurt. I was smiling from ear to ear like an idiot. Saw a whole different side of Kinn. Throughout the episode he hasn't shown any hesitation to hide his relationship with Porsche. He even teased Porsche to tell everyone. Aww, Porsche feeding Kinn and showing how to eat was so adorable. I didn't see much difference from Mile and Kinn as they have no problem of stuffing their face at any given chance whenever there's food! Lol! He just loves to eat! Gahhh they were so cute while taking photos. Kinn showering little kisses on Porsche to Porsche's adorable giggles! Porsche wanting to buy dinner by the river but instead had to settle for street food while sitting down on the ground with Kinn. Him kissing Kinn's shoulder and clearly overwhelmed with the feels! Both of them so sappy and adorable about their first fukn date! Kinn giving a mobile to Porsche so Porsche doesn't have to miss him. Porsche's little forehead kisses!!!! Them holding hands like kids and being giddy! Them back home with Porsche hanging on to Kinn's back. Kinn giving a soft kiss on Porsche's cheek and Porsche doing the same. Them stopping Infront of the waterfall to kiss and running hand in hand to not get caught. The underwater kiss. Them being barefoot. Carefree and in love! Jeff's voice!
5. Porsche and Pete were the comedic duo we always needed. Bahaha not Pete sacrificing Porsche's ass (in this case literally, LOL) to save his own! So much for camaraderie! I lost it when he came back all disheveled and covered in hickeys!
6. Awwwee Kim and Porchay! That last look on Kim's face was definite guilt! Porchay is too adorable to get hurt in any form! Kim better treat him better.
7. From Porsche making merit to the monk for the presumably dead Tawan's ghost to the horror movie night was comedy gold. I just can't with Porsche's school girl screams! Him losing his shit over an accidentally switched on horror flick to a flickering lamp! Bahaha not him trying to get laid cz he's shitting his pants over ghosts! Not the phallic sculpture! Bahaha so the monk gave it to Porsche to ward off Tawan's ghost! It's not a dildo. But I suppose the purpose of giving it was cz Tawan is a man and monk wanted him to throw it at the direction where Porsche thinks the ghost is at while chanting the mantra! Turns out it was a man owning a real phallic sculpture! Hilarious how Kinn caught it with his mouth! Kinn opening up about Tawan and them talking about it. Tho Kinn still haven't said the L word out loud, him acknowledging it when Porsche was telling how Tawan's ghost being jealous over them being in love! Porsche resting both of his legs over Kinn's leg. Kinn throwing away his shameless pic of the ex. Both of them making merit to the monk and Kinn smiling cheekily & nudging Porsche when the monk asked if Porsche needed a bigger phallic sculpture! Behold the entry of the very much alive, manipulative, evil ex Tawan!
I ranted again. I seriously have no life. But hey, I'm sure plot will get more interesting from next week onwards. We really didn't get much plot development so far, so hopefully they'll accelerate with it in the rest of the episodes. I mean we're halfway through the series now. And VegasPete is coming as we got the evil ex back. So let's brace ourselves!
😳you killed me with this discription. Are you a writer? If not, you need to start writing.
Awww thanks, I'm flattered!! Bahaha I'm not a writer, just a fan of KinnPorsche who's in too deep with the little details and is overanalyzing everything. I think I'm sleep deprived at this point. Lol! But I shall keep reviewing my madness here, I'm happy to know you guys are enjoying it!
It's all about the little details of the last scene for me. Why it felt so raw and authentic is because the actors was literally LIVING it. MileApo were honestly embodying the KinnPorsche characters. And Kinn went way beyond my expectations.
1. Kinn's little nod of asking for permission before unzipping Porche's pants. 2. The little strings of saliva between their kisses, and how Porsche grabbed Kinn's neck to stop the kiss and proceeds to take his face in both hands to kiss him again while Kinn unzips. Jeeeesuss! 3. The little smiles of Kinn between ecstasies. 4. The short faltering breaths of both of them. 5. The way he was calling Porche's name. 6. The way Porsche wet his fingers (it was so believable at this point, I was doubting whether it was fake or not. I mean it's such a natural thing to do when being intimate, you'll never expect they'll show something like that. I'd like to acknowledge the intimacy coaches for directing it in such a detailed and natural manner). 7. That freaking sound! THAT.freaking.sound. My soul left my body at this point. You can feel the climax and how everything stills after the release of their emotions and ummm...their pleasurable neuromuscular tensions. Lol. On a serious note. MikeApo was freaking spectacular here. 8. The way they didn't let the background music overpower KinnPorsche's moment (Those raw sounds are what makes the whole scene very aesthetically pleasing and make the audience connect with the characters. I always felt that background music in such scenes kinda just lower the feels of those moments). 9. The way Kinn was grabbing Porsche's hair! 10. The way Porsche looks down and smiles back up, and I'm pretty sure by the end he was doing the job for both of them as Kinn's hand was on his waist. His little sexy smiles when he knows he's driving Kinn crazy. 11. The way Porsche slowly puts his hand on Kinn's waist and just pulls him in. The way the shirt pulls up with his hand and shows Kinn too is naked. 12. Kinn is overwhelmed with emotions. He was near sobbing I think and that's when Porsche's locks him in a tight hug cz he felt that Kinn was breaking. Kinn was grabbing his neck so hard, as if to say he never want a single fiber of Porsche away from him. The way he was burying his head into Porsche's shoulder and was sobbing cz he's in love again and maybe it scares him to know how much Porsche's existence is affecting his own existence.
Gosh I'm freaking reading too much into this I should staaaph. Lol!!! But it's kinda fun analysing these scenes as it's been some time I'm actually this intrigued by a BL.
Honourable mentions: 1. The lighting was perfect for the situation. 2. Loved the mirror as we could see Kinn's face. And how the reflections added more emotions to the scene. 3. That single ray of light which was beaming when Kinn turned Porsche around to face him. 4. Sound engineers deserve a raise!!! 5. Apo had that little scar on his right shoulder which he got for real during the opening fight scene at the casino. He mentions it in BTS and was treated as well. I think a door jabs him there.
Let me know what little things you guys found out. Bahaha I really need to get a life!
Okay that was one of the longest hours of my life. It was a freaking rollercoaster ride. All KinnPorche scenes were chef's kiss in episode 7. I'm eternally grateful to see how they've changed character traits of these characters from the book. Especially Kinn. He is so vulnerable for Porche and it's so refreshing to see how he's out with his feelings. That balcony scene was one of the best, it went from horny to endearing in seconds. It's like he has a lot of pent up feelings inside and also afraid of history repeating itself. Especially in the last hug scene, he squeezes Porche's neck so hard from the back like he wants every fiber of him on him. Seemed like he was sobbing and you really feel for him. Porche dropped the L word and Kinn's mood switched in a whim and you'd see how he was regretting what he said to him seconds ago. Kudos to both MileApo for that last act. It was profoundly executed. Not because of the nature of it but because showing something passionate, hot and so intimate in such a natural, believable way is extremely hard. I felt as if I was invading their privacy. The rawness of their emotions, the atmosphere, the sounds, everything around it was just perfect. Usually I don't feel the emotions of the characters during intimate scenes as most actors fail to show it naturally. Like when it comes to BLs the kisses, hugs or any intimate scene looks a bit forced or just so robotic. I rarely see especially on Asian BLs where the flow is natural. They kiss or hug only with their upper bodies like you'd see that their waist down is so far apart from each other as if it's illegal to be crotch on crotch. The audience should be able to feel the love between the characters, hence the actors should be able to convey it as it is. MileApo are taking the crown for being the best onscreen lovers in that case, as they just yeeted any shyness or awkwardness out the window. It's not about how vulger it looks or how many times the tongue was out, you gotta be able to relate to their emotions, anyone could film an intimate scene but only a few call pull it off flawlessly. I'm really glad they decided to go all the way and not leave anything behind. It's for a mature audience and they're living up to that statement. I hope we'll get a solid mafia subplot, and see a bit more action. As much as the intimate scenes are reaching the maturity levels I need the storyline too to be as equally mature and logical. The book was honestly disappointing in that matter, so hoping that the series would do us justice. I'm still glad the authors gave us these characters otherwise we wouldn't see this masterpiece come to life. Anyone who complains this is too much, either you're not age appropriate to watch this or do not understand the concept of this series. It's catered towards a different audience and gives several cautionary messages of what it contains. It's airing at late hours and have two versions, the cast is not a very young cast but who's reaching their late youth years and stepping into their midyears. They have such professionalism and I admire that they do not do any cringy fanservice and knows how to handle the press with solidity. Bahaha I'm glad I'm finally watching something age appropriate as for someone in her late twenties, it was sort of getting monotonous watching highschool and university BLs. Anyways, we are halfway through the story, they've changed quite a bit from the book, which is a smart move, story and character wise. Tbh the novel literally don't have much to offer. Half the time I was rolling my eyes and wanted to slap Kinn in many cases, but the series is making me love Kinn and everything in general. I don't want to praise too much, but so far it's better than I expected. Hoping to see some serious plot unraveling, related to mafia or otherwise. After all if this is an action BL it should live up to the standard. Excited for their first date. Let's see how that goes. I have a feeling that Tawan is alive, but it'll be interesting if they've changed that backstory to surprise us.
For ppl that have read the books is tankhun actually crazy ? Idc abt spoilers may someone answer
He's not actually crazy, a bit reckless and wayyyy too silly. He's carefree and doesn't take anything seriously. It's more of a personality trait. Kinn is the more responsible and mature child in the family. Tho Tankhun is the eldest he's sorta off the hook cz Kinn takes care of everything. He's supposed to get married as his father wants someone to carry the family name but plans sort of falls through,,,lol cz of a certain doctor. Getting kidnapped kinda gave him a way out I guess as his family didn't push him to do anything cz of his bad experience as a child. He's super caring and protective towards the people he loves. He's more like the spirit animal of the clan.
One thing for sure, KINN in the series is WAYYYYY better than the KINN in the novel. He is very delicate with Porche and I loved how he spoke so seriously about "that" night and felt remorse for what he did. I love he apologized to Porche and certainly was guilty for what happened. The production team has done well on Kinn's character. The novel Kinn wasn't this remorseful, he did apologize but some how the Kinn in the series feels so much superior and the best version of the two. The last scene was beautiful. Kinn cares so much that he even wanted Porche to leave. I think that was the highlight of episode 6. By then you can see how Porche has totally moved on from the incident and already has deep feelings for Kinn. He got the reaction he wanted from Kinn earlier. Perhaps if Kinn dismissed the whole scene and didn't say sorry as he did, I don't think Porche would've properly recovered from that night. The genuineness of his feelings was real enough for Porche to come back. I'm sure he was confused about his feelings and thought it was wrong for him to feel a certain way towards the man who wronged him in such a way, but he only was able to accept his true feelings in the end was cz Kinn was honest with his feelings. The unspoken care and tenderness towards each other was very evident from their movements. Hand holdings, little stares, giggles, soft touches and pinky promises!!!! Gaaahhhh I had to bite into my pillow everytime. And Miles Smiles are die for. He is extra beautiful when he smiles. Also I'm sure Apo was being himself in most of the scenes today, he is so mischievous, hilarious and silly, I can imagine him pulling pranks on set to annoy others. MileApo duo are one of the best BL pairings tbh. On screen chemistry is just chef's kiss. I also love the fact that they don't do any cringy fanservice. Their off screen selves shows their maturity and compatibility even without trying. Loving the fact that they're closer to my age (Not forgetting MaxTul) which is a bit refreshing cz most BL pairings are pretty young to be flaunting over and actually giving us a BL that's different from the norm (universities are overrated at this point). I'd hope to see a bit more action and Mafia plot cz the story of Book 1 really didn't have much going on. I hope they'll focus on a serious subplot apart from the romance cz the novel felt as if it was Mafia only for namesake. When it's a big budgeted show, the plot should be good. Otherwise I don't wanna see another Bite Me, that series had all the aesthetics in place with a good cast but the whole script just ruined it royally. So far KinnPorche has been delivering well. I love the plot changes and character tweaks, hope this continues. If they keep this I'm sure this will be the banger of 2022.
Here after watching ep 5. I think I'm gonna keep standing with my statement that the series is much better than the novel. Since Book 1 is the only book that's translated to English I dunno how the plot has progressed in the other books. So from the 1st book's standpoint they've adapted the novel better than the novel itself. I really hated the way how KinnPorche's relationship was established in the novel. Kinn was way more aggressive and he didn't give two cents on how Porche must've felt. He knew he was hurting Porche but still continued to hurt him. Porche was introduced as this strong-willed and carefree person. But I felt while the story progressed he became weak and vulnerable. Like he had little too much influence by Kinn. I hope the series would keep their conflict of interests continuing and not make Porche mentally vulnerable. The novel also emphasized bit much on the husband/wife dynamic between KinnPorche which clearly was unnecessary in my opinion. For a Mafia story I thought they should've equally depicted their strength and masculinity and not give such roles in their relationship. Also the main story had little to no context. You get some interesting revelations by the last few chapters but the majority of the story really had no depth nor context. There were a few hot scene, if you may call it, but those too were portrayed in a very uneasy manner, at least the ones when Porche was still coming to terms with. Well I like the direction the series is going. Kinn is much more patient and content. Porche seems to be the same but I do hope he won't give in to Kinn easily. Technically he was straight. Porche hasn't even thought of batting for the other team untill Kinn took advantage of him when he was drugged. It was really sad to read how traumatized the whole thing was for him. So really want to see how the series Porche is gonna come to terms with it. And one of the other major thing is I really hope they give more significance to the Mafia-ness of the story. Because the 1st book sorta only kept it as an accessory, there really wasn't anything happening very mafia-like. It was like a namesake plot device. I really wanted to read some thriller, action filled subplots but nope... So I really hope they'll give us some good plot for the series. Like how Not Me gave us an intense romance all the while tackling social issues as a main plot device. It handled it so well, we really wanted justice to prevail at the same while the Romance was blooming. Also liking the significance they've given to Kim. He is mysterious and I like how they're keeping our curiosity. The series is done well so far. I dunno if they've adapted the other books as well, cz there really isn't much to take from the 1st book. Anyways, I'm living for MileApo chemistry. They're more of a mature BL couple we know from the usual Young new comer couples. I've been watching some of their off screen videos, and just love the fact that they give zero to no effort to show any cringy fanservice. Apo is already experienced and am pleasantly surprised how Mile is nailing his debut role. Both of them perfectly compliment each other. Apart from MaxTul, MileApo chemistry is just effortlessly charismatic and hot. It's nice to see BL actors closer to my age acting in roles that actually suit their maturity levels. Both of them have a mutual interest in cocktails and their conversations are never boring. I'd watch them make drinks any given time. You can clearly see how professional they're as actors. They know to show the audience the difference between their on/off screen lives and maybe that's why their bond is so natural and real.
For me, the series is smoothing out a lot of what i didn't like in the novel. For me, personally, the show is,…
Totally. I really hope they change the story a bit while keeping the general concept of the novel. Cz I seriously didn't like how KinnPorche relationship started off in the book. Sometimes I felt as if the author was trying so hard to push Porche into doubting his sexuality. Cz he clearly didn't have no intention whatsoever to even test the waters or bat for the other team at the beginning. He happened to be taken advantage of without consent and just couldn't take it off his head. And Kinn pushed his limits until Porche finally reciprocated. I know they both fell deeply in love with each other, but I think it could've been done differently. In that case I like they've made the Kinn on the series more content and patient. The novel Porche tend to be more vulnerable while the story went on, but I think Porche should have more liberty and control over his life. To stand his ground. I want his and Kinn's conflict of interests to keep continuing without Porche always giving in first or breaking down fast. They both give very strong energy, and for a Mafia story it's great to have two strong main characters. I do hope the series hasn't done a direct adaptation but rather an enhanced one. So far I'm loving the series, it's much better than the novel.
Ok this might be an extremely unpopular opinion, do feel free to give your opinion too. I think the series is much better than the book. Usually novel adaptations fail to live up to the standard of the book but I feel that this series has overpowered the novel. When a drama is adapted from a book I tend to finish the book first. Personally I prefer the book over the drama cz sometimes the producers just don't deliver the essence of the novel. So after so much trouble I found a copy of KinnPorche and just read it in a whim. I don't mean to be harsh or rude, but honestly I didn't think that book 1 was all that significant story wise. I dunno about other books as I haven't found any of it in English so I'm only talking about book 1 here. We got some story in the latter part of the book, like the past revelations and some subtext to the main plot but other than that it was just meh for me. I like the premise. And I like how Porche was this carefree and strong person. But when the story was moving forward I felt as if he was getting more and more vulnerable. Also I sorta didn't entirely like the whole husband/wife dynamic. For two strong characters like KinnPorche I don't think it's important to define their roles. I dislike it when they make it the first trait to show the readers of their relationship and it just continues be more and more emphasized. This is why Behind The Scene is still one of my favorite BL novels. They just broke most of these stereotypes. Till the end chapters there weren't much development in the plot and though Porche did fall deeply in love later, I seriously disliked how Kinn just went on to put force on Porche. And for a Mafia story, I was expecting some complexity with more thriller and political aspect, some serious subplots maybe but it never happened. As an example, a stroy like Not Me not only gave us an intense romance between two couples but also tackled some serious societal issues. So I was hoping to read on some more Mafia related scenarios sadly there really wasn't much on it. I do understand the first fam/second fam conflicts but that too just came by the end of the book. In that case I think they're better at fleshing out the plot in the series as I do feel the maturity in the characters and the story than in the novel. Maybe the story is better in the other books, and I only can comment on the story of Book 1. I do hope Kinn would be more considerate of Porche in the series and maybe let Porche have more control in his life. I literally started getting pissed when Kinn had men following Porche though he told that it was for his own safety. I mean Porche is a fighter, he really can take care of himself. He should be more respectful of his boundaries. I wanted KinnPorche in the novel to be more unique. Not the typical BL couple. But it kinda fell short on my expectations. So far I love how they're depicted in the series. I want Porche to fight back more on Kinn. Stand his ground. I hope to see some serious action too and some mafia subplot not just to keep the mafia trait for namesake. I like the characters are more mature in the series. And the whole ambience is great. I'm yet to watch episode 5 but surely I'm loving the series more than the book. This is solely my opinion and just take it as constructive criticism. I'd like to hear feedback from my fellow readers too if anyone else has read the book.
I accidentally came across this K-BL, it was so adorable and magnetic I had to finish the whole thing in one sitting. Well it had very short episodes so it didn't take a lot of time either. Anyways, truth be told I was pleasantly surprised. Haven't seen this cast before neither did I knew the leads, but for amateurs they were pretty smooth. The chemistry was strong and they were really adorable. It's admirable to see that S.Korea is delivering such great BLs. Even though the episodes are short somehow the storytelling is not rushed. It has the adequate amount of elements for the plot to flow without any fillers. I really enjoyed watching this BL. It was a great watch. Hope I'll see the actors again. They have a lot of potential. Hyuk Joon, the one who played Da Un caught my attention. He has such a deep voice and he acted pretty well. Even Eun Bin was great as Si Won. The K-BL era has been thriving the whole time, so hoping it'll continue to the future like that.
This was one of the fluffiest, adorable and one of the cutest k-bls I've seen recently. The acting is great, their chemistry is just chef's kiss, not a single awkward moment and they did justice to the original story too. Love the actors. For such amateurs they certainly did a wonderful job. I'm in love with Seo Ham. He's effortlessly charismatic. Jae Chan is so freaking adorable I just wanna put him in my pocket and protect him at all costs. Them together is the perfect idol onscreen power couple! I'd be delighted if they have a S2, they really do deserve the recognition and hype. We'll have to wait till Seo Ham finishes military but it'll certainly be worthwhile. Overall this was one of the best BLs from Korea and it's impressive to see how they've evolved in this genre since lately and is becoming more daring, bold, carefree and creative. I hope this progress is constant. Cheers to that! Hoping to see more content like this in the future!
One of the best BLs to come outta Korea so far. Love the acting and the plot. The leads have great chemistry. They're adorable. I don't find them cringy nor awkward. Also giving us much longer episodes is a winner. It actually does right to the story. They don't have to rush or force the relationship. I'm truly enjoying this. Lately there has been a boom in K-BL, I'm glad they're opening up more to the LGBTQ+ content. That's progress without doubt. This will be over in another 2 weeks, wish we have more episodes but still I'm grateful that they're giving us longer episodes. Can't wait for the next episode, episode 4 clearly stirred up our little stuck up Sang Woo, bahaha and I'm living for Jae Young's boldness, that guy has no filter, he really is meant for Sang Woo,,,lol
I thought I'd have a hard time moving on from BBS but tbh, I think I'm doing really good so far. Maybe that's cz GMMTV still have pretty great ongoing dramas and gotta say Enchanté is also slowly turning on my excitement. And I'm seeing a lot of OhmNan content on social media as both of them seem to be participating in a lot of promos these days, so technically I still get to see new updates of them everyday and it kinda fills the void of BBS ending. Well coming back to Enchanté, I just love Akk! I think he became my favorite from the 1st ep onwards. He is caring and sweet but I like how he shows that in a discreet manner. He doesn't seem clingy and just helps whenever he can. He's not the kind to try and take the best friend spot of Theo's and be possessive over him. I know the dude is crushing on Theo so hard but he lets him have his space. I don't know about ForceBook much and I've only seen them briefly on Safe House before, but should say they have great chemistry. Tho it's another university story the plot isn't boring for me. I like it so far. And Force is slowly forcing his way in to my head, I just like his aura. The series is better than I expected. And I also get to see Gawin. And also twice a week now! I'd listen to him sing all day. Their acting isn't the greatest but at least for newbies the leads are pretty decent. I haven't found anything to be cringy so far. And I don't understand why people say they look alike, they definitely don't look similar to me at all. Book's face is much softer and Force has this rugged look on him. Anyways, Enchanté is a nice surprise and I find myself liking it slowly, maybe I'm not as hooked as I was with BBS but I definitely am starting to look forward for Fridays.
Here's to defying stereotypes, here's to showing a HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP through and through, like PatPran were as solid as ever NOBODY could stop them, even when we were crying buckets in the 11th episode they had already planned out their clownery in detail. Here's to challenging the same ol' recycled plot devices. Here's to BEST FUKN CHEMISTRY & AUTHENTIC ACTING! Here's to showing how a BL should really be done! Bad Buddy didn't have this extravagant plot, it was cliche and predictable, but the simplicity itself made it extraordinary. The cliches surprised us, clowned us even. It gave excitement. It took us through a rollercoaster of emotions. Even the most cliche stories out there could make a difference when the actors are phenomenal and the storytelling is creative and unique. This series really had one of the best onscreen chemistries I've see between two actors. Not an ounce of awkwardness nor cringe! OhmNan raised so many bars! Other BL actors really should take notes from them. P'Aof really went off with the plot. He challenged almost all of the dumb stereotypes and the usual toxic BL tropes out there. He taught how a show should be done! The last 12 weeks have been nothing but happiness. They wrapped up the story well. I really don't expect a S2. PatPran couple is unmovable if we need a plot for another season writers have to create a whole new universe with some unimaginable plot,,LOL. Cuz creating tension or drama between them just for the plot would not work, this is the couple who clowned us all, they'd clearly kick the plot to the gutter and break the 4th wall to smack the writers,,lol! So this could be the perfect ending for our PatPran! Kudos to the WHOLE Cast and Crew for bringing this brilliant project alive. Hope OhmNan will get more great projects to showcase their talent. Both of them are such versatile and experienced actors for their young age. P'Aof literally created a game-changer in BLs, acting wise, plot wise, OST wise, cinematography wise, best chemistry wise, the whole effin'production quality wise, therefore hoping to see more creations like this from him in the future. Bad Buddy is the new standard in BLs as it should be, cz if every creator out their take this as their bar to raise against then I guess future BLs will undoubtedly make a difference in the society. Last but not least, I thoroughly enjoyed this comment section, thank you for being a part of this beautiful journey, even if it's through one word, we were all part of this joyride! And now it's time to say our farewells to our BEST BUDDY for the last 3 months; BAD BUDDY! Cheers to happiness, sadness, excitement & the lasting memories! Bad Buddy did this! Here's to a bag full of awards and recognition! They deserve it all!
Barely two days left till the grand finale of the greatest BL series ever made yet. Tbh honest it's not even an exaggeration. The acting, the story, the cinematography, the OST everything of this drama was well thought through. Yes. The plot is nothing fancy or anything in-depth. It's predictable and somewhat cliche BUT behind the cliches it has managed to give us a rollercoaster of emotions. Made us extremely happy, extremely sad, extremely angry, just all kinds of feels, surprised us and dragged us down, we're in the comments section at least couple of times a day cz this show is literally make us feel some type of a way. The simplicity and the realistic storytelling is what makes it extraordinary, that's why we can look past the predictions, the cliches. That's why this is different from the others. The acting is not cringey! The leads FIT well. There are no toxic side stories. The problems seem realistic. They're defying stereotypes and challenging social norms. We are shown a healthy relationship in a BL after a long while.
*PatPran* They don't questions their sexuality, it's all about love. They don't assign gender roles it's all about equality and versatility. They don't give up, they fight back. They aren't afraid they show courage. They may separate but they will unite. I know people want rainbows and butterflies, but PatPran showed me that sometimes a reality check could be far more logical than acting on a whim. Apart from the rivalry their parents have been good to their children, I understand what Pran is feeling and I salute Pat for being a selfless lover. When you think of their decade long grudge it's very illogical to think that it'll be solved overnight. Yes they could've not returned but imagine if you're just off school, started college, no job, need to study for a few more years while living out, prolly your parents pay for college and rent etc...and as Asians we do depend on our parents until we come to a certain age, even if you're 25 they'll consider you a kid especially if you're unmarried LOL..so it was realistic they came back, reality isn't always as cool as they show in dramas and I'm glad they showed a bit of reality here. Also they understood their parents problem, tho it don't involve them they put family first cz that's how families work. It's sad but that's the truth. Anyways I'm sure through reality we'll get a very fair tale ending. I personally am not against an open ending too cz it'll give a certainty for S2, given how Bad Buddy blew up all over and OhmNan becoming the ultimate OTP, GMMTV definitely will want this hype to go on for some time. Whatever the ending is, this series has already done it's job. Raised so many standards in BLs. Acting wise, chemistry wise, plot wise, music wise, overall production quality wise, every aspect has introduced a new standard to the BL genre. I'm happy this came to existence and happy to be a part of it as an active viewer. Anyone discovering this now, you're gonna witness a BL which is going down in history. S2 or not, seeing OhmNan as a pair again or not, the cast and the crew are already leaving their mark, no validation needed. See y'all on Friday!
Anyways, I'm loving the show so far. If you want to feel good at the end of the week, and want to watch something simple and cute. This is it. Sometimes we just need to relax and watch a feel good show.
Bahaha.
Honourable mentions:
Overall this was one of the best BLs from Korea and it's impressive to see how they've evolved in this genre since lately and is becoming more daring, bold, carefree and creative. I hope this progress is constant. Cheers to that! Hoping to see more content like this in the future!
Can't wait for the next episode, episode 4 clearly stirred up our little stuck up Sang Woo, bahaha and I'm living for Jae Young's boldness, that guy has no filter, he really is meant for Sang Woo,,,lol
Well coming back to Enchanté, I just love Akk! I think he became my favorite from the 1st ep onwards. He is caring and sweet but I like how he shows that in a discreet manner.
