Looks like an entertaining BL to end the week. I'm sure this is not one of those BLs to take seriously but go along with the ride for pure joy. The main lead looks like the clumsy, introverted, who-might-be-gay-or-bi-but-just-don't-know-it-yet type while the other lead is the confident, rich gay boi who has purely taken the job cz of his crush. I'm down for all the BL cliches and slapstick comedy to happen. I'm sure they won't be able to explicitly replicate the comic, but hoping to see some cute, hot and funny chemistry between the leads. Korea is honestly doing a great job with the BLs. I love all the currently airing BLs of theirs.

p.s. Good to see a fellow senior music artist on screen again. I'm sure most of the young BL fans watching haven't even heard of F.T. Island before. One of the hottest rock bands from S. Korea and one of the OG 2nd Gen artists of K-pop. I'm referring to Seung Hyun who's a guitarist of F.T. Island and plays as the comic artist in the drama.

Surprisingly, I like this drama more than I thought I'd do. Korean BLs are well produced and the actors are doing a good job. I think people are getting confused cz of the choppy editing but still if you follow close it's not hard to understand. Besides Jung Hyun's character is complicated that we don't know what his actual motives are yet. He does seem to care for Jung Woo genuinely tho. I have a feeling he might also have a part in whatever happened to Jung Woo in the past. Yes, he did became his saving grace at one point, but looks like he's just exploiting his savior rights a bit too much now.
Tae Young on the other hand is a human golden retriever. He's that one character in the BL who just goes out of his way even if it means going bankrupt to do the right thing and follow his heart. Kinda obvious that TY and JW are gonna be soulmates. TY literally gave up his job for a rookie writer who didn't even know he existed until like a hot minute ago. If meeting him after 3yrs after all that controversy and becoming a writer at the company TY started cz of him is not fate I don't know what else you can call it. Lol.
No one's mentioning what went down for JW to be banned from the literary world but I read the above drama posters on the plot outline and character introductions and it says JW exposed a senior corrupt writer hence paid the price for whistleblowing. Meaning the publication house ditched him and I think other people involved with the situation must've also gotten hurt. So eventually he just got labelled as the traitor. TY also quits his job cz he always believed JW and didn't want to work for the company who ditched JW. JH is the knight in shining armor amidst the controversy hence JW being stuck with him since then. I'm sure they were dating at some point but don't understand what they're now. Looks like they're still together but not really. It's obvious that JW loves writing and want to write again but he's still afraid his past coming to haunt him again and that he'll end up hurting someone. JH wants to help him but doesn't seem like he wants JW to be authentic. TY is the only genuine person who wants JW to persue his writing honestly. And also that female friend and the editor lady too seem like they want JW to truly be happy.
This is what I've understood so far and I think the plot is refreshing. Taiwan, Korea and Japan always come up with unique stories and I admire their production quality and the fine acting. Quality BL is very much progressive in these countries. I don't believe this is a spoiler as it literally can be found in the posters. Just thought I'd put together everything to anyone who's confused ʘ‿ʘ

On Eternal Yesterday Nov 25, 2022
The Damn title itself is Eternal YeStErDaY! Why do I still keep hope then?!! WHYYYYY. And this is Japanese BL. Do I even need to second guess it. Still here I am waiting for Koichi to some how come alive. Gosh my heart broke for Mitsuru in the back hug scene. I know Koichi is always so giddy and happy but he's just trying to keep Mitsuru happy with the little time he's left with. And obviously it only makes Mitsuru think more about what he's gonna miss and that just makes him miserable. He can't have 2 number ones in his life. He's getting unconditional love from Koichi, something he never really felt in his life before. But karma is so cruel that he's not lucky enough to experience an everlasting love. At least with Koichi beside him.
I keep telling myself that they will make something up and somehow turn this around. The sweet ending credits keep igniting my hopes. I want Mitsuru to be happy. That boi never got the affection he deserves from anyone. And the one time he finally opens up his heart it's getting shut right away. Maybe even if Koichi won't be around I really hope Mitsuru will have closure. He deserves at least that much. But I still hope they can have a true happy ending. This is depressing enough.

Episode 8 hits you right in the feels. I love their conversation during the alley walk. Xun An's character has such maturity and content. I'm so glad to see a BL with much depth and feeling. They make so much sense. Tho the plot seems cliches with the love story I love the way they've given meaningful character traits to everyone. Bai Lang is still trying to navigate his feelings for one person while dealing with his own shit and Xun An is giving his all to one person though he keeps getting hurt. But I'm so glad he's keeping his stance and worth and letting Bai Lang come to him after Bai Lang is certain with what he wants. The last dialogue was just what Bai Lang needed to hear. Tho Xun An believes him, Bai Lang needs to be more confident about himself. I really like their slow burn. If this was a usual BL, a forced kiss will solve everything, I'm glad this couple is different. Can't wait to see Bai Lang earning his worth.
Taiwan is my personal favorite when it comes to BLs. They really pick quality over quantity. Korea and Japan follow close. Thailand really should think more about quality. They put out so much content but I rarely find anything to resonate with me.

Enjoying this drama so much. The story is entertaining and the actors have good chemistry. Taiwan indeed makes good content. Easily one of my favorite ongoing BLs.
Bai Lang certainly knows that Xun An is trying to persue him but is avoiding thinking he's unworthy. Since the ex is back we'll get the usual jealousy trope but I'm excited for it. Sure, Bai Lang at the moment comes with a lot of baggage but the doctor willingly and actively wants to have him with all of that. And he too is opening up to someone after awhile, I just hope Bai Lang realizes soon what he's taking for granted.
On the other hand, I go weak everytime Alex randomly speaks English. I like it when they use it in their conversations occasionally. RJ is becoming bolder everyday and I'm waiting to see him making Alex visibly flustered cz at the moment Alex only thinks of him as a kid and doesn't seem to be phased at all or is very good at pretending,,,lol.
Can't wait to see how Mr. Ex is gonna help our teeth couple to get it on somehow.

It's been 3yrs and I still haven't watched the last two episodes. I by no means don't avoid sad endings. But this couple was an exception. They had such a wholesome relationship, it was so cruel how fate played a big joke on them. They were finally free of obstacles and started living for themselves. Especially Yu Xi Gu. So yeah, for me I'm gonna pretend that they had their ending by episode 18. And the alternate ending being their cameo by the end of Life: Senjou no Bokura.
I hope they'll make another drama with Wayne and Huang WITH a happy ending. We need to give justice to their chemistry.

On Eternal Yesterday Nov 11, 2022
Absolutely adorable drama built in a cute depressing plot. As the title "Eternal Yesterday" they are certainly not hiding the fact that this is not gonna be anything fluffy by the end. It suggests something that's going to be the past soon but will forever remain with you. I've already made up my mind and prepared my heart. Just let it come to us slowly. I know Koichi will have to face the inevitable soon and Oumi will have to force himself to accept the truth. But Oumi is already in a detached family and his happiness at the moment is Koichi. It'll be absolutely cruel if they make him suffer again.
Oh well I think I should know better by now since this is J-BL. But a girl can dream sometimes,,lol. Nevertheless I love this. The plot is unique and interesting. Actors are refreshing. Waiting to see how they'll make us cry.

Omg I binged the whole thing. It was really cute. Compared to their tragic BL from before this was so adorable. It did feel slow at times, but I liked the slow burn romance between the bickering couple. The story was obviously not meant to be anything complex but a lighthearted romcom to just relax and enjoy. South Korea somehow manages to bring something special to this genre. Though the plot is cliche and episodes are short, I always liked the way the Koreans make their content. It feels unique. Lately BLs have been blooming very brightly in Korea. Hope they keep them coming.
Also it's nice to see some of these BL actors getting casted in mainstream dramas. It helps them to become more versatile and expand their talent.
Anyways, I'd like to see the main actors in a drama again. They have good chemistry. Doesn't matter whether it's as a couple or not, would be nice to see them again.

I'm really enjoying a BL after a long time. So far the story is solid and lighthearted. For a romcom it does have a bit of trauma inserted but the fluff overpowers it. Love the two couples. I hope they'll go past the fake kissing and give us something realistic cz Taiwan has come a long way from BL fake kisses. I mean they're one of the most progressive countries when it comes to natural intimacy in BLs.
Anyhow, it's too soon for the main couple to get into anything, seems like Bai Lang's imagination is just running wild on Dr. Jin. Can't wait for next week!!!

Their chemistry is stronger by each episode. YinWar is doing a superb job. The story is not the most unique, and we already know how it goes, but somehow Love Mechanics is a good example for a plot that's cliche yet with the right amount of feels, Cinematography and a good cast anything simple could be compelling and worth the effort. War has always been one of my screen favs, but damn Yin has improved immensely, his portrayal is so impressive this time. I live for both of their subtle moments. Like how Vee flirts and sweet talks just to turn Mark in to a tomato. And Mark's obvious little smiles and blushes trying to keep a straight face. Gahhhh they're adorable!!! I love the push and pull and how nobody still hasn't said the actual feelings out loud. Fully understand why Vee is hesitating but him admitting his stance to Yoo and walking away seeing Ploy were some of the important scenes today to show that he's actually putting an effort to work it out with Mark.
Let's just enjoy the fluff for now cz the real turbulence is yet to come. Mark and Vee are far from over being hurt. Especially Mark. Anyways, Mark in a cameo should be as Praram I think, wonder if we'll get his and Nuea's story as well, they'll look good together ;)

I just realized that they never picked up the umbrella Nozue dropped when Togawa dragged him to the alley. Oh well, Togawa seems to have a lot of umbrellas, I don't think he'll miss losing one, lol.

Omg, I think I overdosed on so much sugar from that last episode. Their level of intimacy even without an obvious physical depiction is a craft of it's own. Especially the alley scenes which were perfectly executed. I have no complaints whatsoever for no kisses in the finale. I found Nozue's confession, his hug and even that bold statement of him wanting to kiss Togawa anywhere enough to melt me in to a puddle and make me smile like an idiot.
J-BLs definitely are in a league of their own. The fluff and the sweetness are like naturally embedded in to them.
I easily find it super cringey and awkward when BLs try to force intimacy or over the top cute scenes in to the story, hence most of the time I just fast forward through them.
Both Takeda's and Kimura's chemistry naturally gave off their intimacy and adorableness without pushing it too much. And though there was only one kiss scene they made sure to write it in a memorable way. I know none of us gonna forget Togawa's thumb for awhile. Lol. I mean that's some clever plot device.
It was only a short drama with short episodes. But it's leaving with a bigger impact. Through their romance it's also leaving us something to think about. It's never too late, and you're never too old. Whether it's pursuing love or finding a job or even restarting everything about your life, you only need a bit of courage and positivity.
I REALLY wish this was longer. I hope we can see Takeda and Kimura again in a full length BL, or even in a S2 of this if there's a good script. Their chemistry is too good to be ending in just five episodes. I'm so gonna miss my Monday's dose of serotonin.

I actually wanted more of Seo Joon's background story with his parents. We know they abandoned him, and that's…
I know, I was waiting for a big backstory but it never happened. I mean given it was the last two episodes there's only so much they can do. This is why they missed out on great plot points. They could've touched on SJ's trauma more, we only got to know his fear of the sound of glass breaking in the last moment only. And I'm sure his relationship with his parents could've explained his clingy behavior more without making him come off as pathetic if they have shown it to the audience. I know their approach for this season was the break-up and the surroundings of it, but however the complexity they wanted to show just didn't come through. Like I did sympathize with the characters but not because of their pain, but mostly cz of the stupidity. But it was emotionally well executed. The chemistry was on point. There's this British Show called "Normal People" it's about this couple's relationship. It was near realistic how their love and pain was depicted in that drama. The plot was made of everyday things a couple would go through but there was a believability behind the decisions that were made during their relationship.
SJ and JW's relationship didn't have that base. They really missed out on a great opportunity here cz Woo Hyun and Kang Min had amazing chemistry.

On I Just Want to See You Jul 3, 2022
This is the perfect definition of a comfort show. Those 4 short episodes felt like a warm, cozy summer day. Like a blanket hugging you on a rainy day. Like a hot chocolate topped with melted marshmallows.
Ahhh the innocence of youth. Where it's just young love, carefree and making lists to complete with your crush during the summer break. Just from Yuma's list you could tell how simple their expectations are, all they wanna do is cook, kick rocks, sing and play the piano together, cover up the Uyuni Salt lake, not think too ahead and cherish each other.
It wasn't a story made for deep feelings, just something to show a slice of life of two teenage boys who just wanna have fun, grow tomatoes together and cherish each other.
It will put a big smile on your face and if you're having a bad day, this will definitely lift up your mood. Mind you, it's so adorable but not fast paced. It's a slow story without a big plot, like it was made out of everyday scenes of a normal teenager.
So, I'll cherish this for it's simplicity and warmth.

That was a long journey. S2 was without doubt a turbulent ride. The whole nature of the plot was sad and depressing. And for 8 episodes we watched them hurting. Obviously last two episodes were supposed to give us fluff cz otherwise how could they make up for the grief of 8 episodes. Still I should praise the acting and the cinematography. Their OST was also beautiful. Both Woo Hyun and Kang Min did a splendid job acting their parts. They have natural, adorable chemistry. Guess what kept the story afloat was their chemistry. Otherwise the plot was underwhelming. When the first season does good it's sort of bound that the sequel not meeting it's predecessor's standard. And To My Star 2 was just that.
I'm all for slow burn romance with deep feels and a depressing plot. But the story should be well thought through before execution and when you want to give a glimpse of reality it should be logical. I'm sure they wanted to show the challenging side of a relationship through SJ and JW, but their approach to it just fell short of how a real life couple could've worked through their issues. SJ's and JW's breakup just didn't make sense. It was a petty reason and even how much introverted JW was, the basics of a partner should've been communication. They dated for and year and JW decides to leave cz he was lonely. Not a single effort was made to tell SJ why he left and the whole while SJ thought they had a perfect relationship.
Anyways, I think they missed out on a lot of great plot points. I think the writers could've come up with a better option to show their strained relationship and how they were gonna overcome it. At least I'm thankful they didn't go over the usual cheating plot.
Guess we won't be seeing another season. I don't see anymore reason for SJ and JW to come back. They did wrap it up with the perfect ending. But I'd like to see Woo Hyun and Kang Min again. I'm sure this is their big break. Cz some of these BL actors are now in mainstream dramas. Though they've acted before I'm sure they'll get bigger projects from now on. Prolly we won't see them together as a couple any soon, but I'd like to see them in dramas again.
Still, props to the whole cast and crew for giving us this drama. Though it may not have met the expectations, the whole cast was amazing. The acting was great. It saved most of the story. I'll miss them. But tbh, South Korea's BLs are pretty good in quality and has great casts than some other BLs. They always try to be unique and special. So hope they'll keep up this standard.

Goshhh, I wanna take both VeeMark aside separately and slap some sense into them. At this point both of them are just having separation anxiety. Vee just can't forget his girlfriend and Mark though he's over Bar just don't want another history repeating itself with Vee.
They're clearly not in love yet just have a serious case of not wanting to be alone. Vee before jumping beds should figure his shit out, have some alone time and think if he really wanna persue someone else when he was willing to give his cheating girlfriend a chance and only came back to Mark cz Ploy wanted a break. And Mark should try to slow down with attachment. That boi is like gum,, he easily sticks, chewed until the flavor runs out and thrown away later. He needs to keep his shit together and have some self respect.
Vee needs to keep his dignity and just walk away from Ploy once and for all.
All I'm saying is both of them getting together right now is just bad news. VeeMark need to sort their shit out separately. But since we need more drama guess we'll need to watch them be stupid together. Lol.
Episode 4 was so heartbreaking to watch. The story is emotionally well executed. YinWar are nailing their roles. I dunno how they're gonna stretch out this back and forth for the next 6 episodes, but yeah Mark's pain has just begun so I'm ready to curse more at the screen and flip at their stupidity. Bahaha.
But tbh, I am loving this series.

Gahhh, they're so adorable. Another light hearted BL from Japan. I was so gonna miss Old Fashion Cupcake, seems like Minato and Shin will be filling up that void. Love the first episode. It's nice to watch a simple story, which is very much cliche yet we can purely enjoy it with a warm heart. It's fluff all over the place.
I don't mind the age gap situation. I mean Shin is a senior in highschool, soon to be leaving for college and Minato seems to be in his mid or late 20's, maybe 26-27. It ain't bad nor he appears as a pedo. He's actually sillier than Shin, lol. Looks like Shin will be persuing Minato rather than the other way round.
We're getting 12 episodes this time, so there's something to look forward to for the next couple of months. One of the best things about J-BLs is that they're super enjoyable, even with the over dramatisations. At least we're getting back to back fluffy BLs rather than tragic ones.
So looking forward to this. It was a great start.

Japan always exceed my expectations when it comes to their short length BLs. The story is concise, great acting & sizzling chemistry. It’s too short and just leaves you craving for more. They’re telling us Nozue and Togawa’s story in 5 episodes and somehow it contains everything we want.
I’m beyond sad to let them go next week. I love the story and the chemistry between the leads is so adorable. There’s no unnecessary drama, it’s just about their story. I hope Japan will keep making these slice of life, light hearted BLs. I’m gonna miss starting my week with this. Cuz to end the week Senpai This Can’t Be Love is already in my list.
Patiently waiting for the happy ending for our anti-aging couple.

There is a sequence in episode 7(?) literally dedicated to showing how Jiwoo felt lonely in the relationship and…
Yep, it was in episode 7. I think they sorta started to explain things a bit too late. Maybe they could've given us flashbacks here and there. At this point most of the audience is disconnected with JW POV and thinks he's just mean for leaving SJ hanging like that. They gave us happy snippets of their relationship every now and then. But I feel if they did the same with JW isolation in the relationship without SJ being aware and gave a glimpse to the audience, most of them could've sympathized with him more.
I think writers didn't think through much to justify JW's actions.
I love this series nevertheless. Their chemistry is natural and brings out all those feels.

Kinda understand everyone's frustration with S2. That's cz S1 was much too sweet compared to this. But in a way I do understand the kinda relationship the producer or the writer is trying to portray between JW and SJ. What's flawed is them jumping straight into their breakup from the first episode itself. Like we know they've been dating for an year, but without context we just have to start off with their separation.
JW is as introverted as a person could get. He always had a problem of opening up and communicating more. SJ is his polar opposite. He's an open book and gets straight to the point. I feel bad for both of them. For 8 episodes we are just going through both of their pain one after the other. If we at least could've seen JW's side of how everything lead to their breakup then I suppose this could've been much more tolerable. But currently the way they're showing JW leaving SJ just makes him a jerk. For a person who's already reserved and stoic, resonating to JW's pain is harder as the audience cz compared to him SJ is literally the angelic partner anyone could wish for. Especially he straight up leaving SJ on his bday.
JW has his reasons, his past is not helping him either. I suppose we could've sympathized with him more if writers found a better way to organize this character. He deserves to be loved as much as SJ. For SJ, he just gives his all to the one he loves. And it's totally unfair he's been treated like this.
I hope whatever the outcome is between them, we'll have closure at the end of this series. Tbh, even though this season is painful, I like it. It tries to show how a relationship needs work to work out. And how communication makes a huge difference. Both of them deserves happiness.
The chemistry between Kang Min and Woo Hyun is effortless. They've done a good job. Hope I'd see them again. Will miss them after next week.
