Another wholesome and fulfilling episode from BMF. This show is thriving and serving us left and right. I'm so glad they have taken a more meaningful, mature, and emotional path from the conventional way of BL storytelling. The script is well written and the characters have depth. Episode 9 was an eye-opener for all the characters and as the audience, we learn that we can't please everybody around us and that sometimes we just need to do what's right even though it might be painful.
I just love Pisaeng so much. His character is one of the best BL boyfriends I've come across so far. I just like that he stands up for what he believes and goes after what he wants. He never shied away from being gay nor hid his feelings for Kawi. He doesn't lie even if he knows that truth hurts. He does seem too good to be true but his character is setting a great example for all these toxic BL male leads. Scriptwriters should take notes that bad boys are always not that sexy. I've lost count of how many times we have seen somebody forcing themselves leading into falling in love. I am tired of this trope. Hence, I've nothing but praise for Pisaeng.
Overall this show is a breath of fresh air from the stereotypical BLs we see from GMMTV. This is how BLs should be represented. The standard ITSAY brought to Thai BLs is yet to be broken in my opinion. They set the bar so high none of these commercial BLs are even an inch close to beating them. But BMF gives me hope that Thai BLs can do better. Not Me and BMF are by far my GMMTV's best unconventional BLs. Krist and Gawin are deserving of the spotlight and I need to commend the whole production team for thinking beyond the stereotypes.

While both shows are technically under GMMTV, they were produced by two different studios. Hidden Agenda is by…
Oh that's explains a lot. Both studios are in two different ends of the same spectrum. Quality wise at least it's so evident. Parbdee definitely have invested in their screenwriters. Even the actors do a better job. The only good thing that came out of Step by Step was Man. The story had potential but it went downhill so fast. Dee Hup have the budget but they just invest in crappy plots and cast only pretty boys with mediocre acting.

It's like GMMTV have personality disorder. At one end they have this praiseworthy BL Be My Favorite and on the other end they have this?!!!
I get that this couple sells but it's only Joong carrying the show. We have some older talented actors as side characters when they deserve to have better spotlight than they get. I especially like Pod and I still can't forget his character in DBK. If not a BL at least give them a straight series. Just wasted potential. GMMTV have such good talent that they simply don't utilize enough.
I'm not gonna dive deep into this story as this is the same dollar store plot we get in all Thai BLs. It's not bad for killing time but nothing beyond that.

Ok so I don't wanna put all the eggs in one basket so I'm gonna wait. So far except for a few slightly cringy scenes I liked the first episode. What was that opening scene, I mean winning a case is one thing but c'mon that was such a silly move they pulled to win it. Apparently exchanging the spectacle saves the day. I was like how the heck do they compare a barely unrecognizable drawing to an actual person. It could've been a bear or a cat, even I wouldn't know. BAhahaHa I dunno why I got triggered by that.

Anyways, for once I'm glad it's not yet another college BL. My only hope is it doesn't turn out to be another Chains of Heart. They start off as this very serious story just to fool us with the most illogical, stupid plot.

I like the fact that Charn isn't your typical male lead. He seems a little psychotic and obsessive. I'd like to see how he'd turn out to be. I'm impressed with the first episode and hopefully it'll keep progressing. Since it only has 8 episodes I hope we'll get a fast paced story. Love the leads. They seem to have chemistry. Hoping to be surprised in a good way with this show.

Title La Pluie
I dunno what's wrong with Thai BLs, they just progressively keep getting bad. Nothing has been up to the rest of the Asian BL standards. Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and even Chinese bromance dramas have better plots, acting, and quality than Thai BLs. They just put out BLs for the sake of it, screenwriters don't even try, the scripts seem like they've been ordered from Ali Express and the actors act like they can't wait to finish their lines. If they are capable of making masterpieces like ITSAY I dunno what are these back-to-back releases of discombobulated BLs. The only Thai BL I genuinely enjoy at the moment is BMF. Others are not worth writing about.

La Pluie had a very interesting concept which they masterfully ruined even without trying. Nothing was explained about the whole soulmate situation and what rain has to do with it nor how it seems to disappear for everyone else when one soulmate declares they don't want it. The main couple literally didn't have anything interesting going on in their lives except them making sure the audience knows they are soulmates and rain is important to make their characters engaging. I don't even want to start on the second couple.

The final episode didn't even feel like a final episode. We find Tai taking a whole ass road trip just to show that the show was sponsored by an airline and reconcile with Patt after a very boring self-monologue about his love for Patt. I finished the episode in like 15mins. I'm just frustrated that they keep passing budgets for dramas like these when they can use it for an actual meaningful plot. The production quality was decent enough and for that, they could've at least tried a bit harder.

I'm just giving constructive criticism cz lately none of the Thai BLs have met the standards of a proper BL. I'm not saying I'm waiting for another ITSAY but that's exactly what I mean. Nadao sure left a big void. But they went with a bang.

One of the most sensible BLs from GMMTV. They really have brought their standards up with the release of this drama. The plot progresses, evident character development and each episode moves forward without being fillers. Without investing in repetitive, bland stories with only pretty casts with mediocre acting, they should actually try and do stories like this. You could say the the screenwriters have done a good job as the audience don't skip any episode nor complain about the story. At least it doesn't seem like a Wattpad teenage author wrote it.

Gawin and Krist are delivering perfect chemistry and their characters mostly resonate with reality. But Pisaeng is kinda too good to be true. He's like the epitome of selflessness and I don't think even a handful of men like that exist in the real world. The dude is not a green flag rather a green concrete pillar.

4 more episodes to go and I'm wondering how Kawi's gonna handle the newfound romance moving forward.

Finally managed to finish this series. I actually liked this in the beginning cz it was a slow burn and they put effort to make the office environment look real. Given the name itself being Step by Step I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. But sadly the plot seriously begged to differ. There really was no plot development. At.All. I really don't know from where these companies hire their scriptwriters cz they royally screwed up this drama. Every episode was more than one hour long, and the beginning was very promising, but they managed to completely annihilate it by the end. The only thing that kept me going was Man. He singlehandedly turned me into a fan girl I ended up sitting through it all.
The cast wasn't bad but it was wasted potential. Yes some of them really need more coaching but the plot too contributed to the lousy way everything turned out be. I don't even understand why they even bother to introduce us a second couple if they don't want to commit to them. Most dramas actually have the audience rooting for the second couple more than the leads where here they just abandoned them without even trying. That's some shitty writing. All we saw was Jaab moping around half the time and I don't even know where Jane even disappeared to.
I'd really want to see Man in more series. He gave a new standard to mature men in BLs. The last few scenes in the final episode gave me butterflies cz his casual outfits are just a perfect fit. I really liked the scene where he was sitting on the kitchen counter top with his blue shirt and jeans. He's always a treat to the eyes. And his adorable laugh. Gosh I really need to stop writing about this guy.
Anyways, in conclusion, this turned out be a big time hit and miss and reminded me of Bite Me the series. That too had two talented leads but the story failed them. Step by Step started stepping backwards rather than moving forward.
Thailand really need good scriptwriters for BLs. But I will commend their effort in overall production and realistic office life depiction and of course introducing Man. Ben will need more improvement but he does seem promising. I liked Bruce's character too and the rest of the cast was ok.
Hopefully I will see Man again regardless of the genre of the drama cz he deserves to get that spotlight.

This show unfolds so beautifully that it's too good to be true to be coming from GMMTV. Surely this is one of their best BLs of all time. The plot is unique, the characters are realistic, the chemistry is chef's kiss.

I think Kawi needs to learn everything the hard way cz he needs to realize that not everything will go his way. I hope that Pisaeng will stop giving in to Kawi and let Kawi feel the worth of him. Since Pisaeng is unconditionally always available, Kawi just has taken him for granted. I can't imagine the love Pisaeng has for Kawi. 8 frekn years is a long time. Boi you need to learn how to say NO.

Every episode progresses the story and I'm super glad Thailand for once is giving us a BL with a good plot development.

Can't wait for next week.

I love it. Just the right amount of feels. The emotions, the softness, the vulnerabilities of each character, even the opening and ending OSTs can make you tear up. I don't mind even if it ends up being bromance cz both of them already have natural chemistry. I can foreshadow a cryfest in the future since this is adapted from Addicted.

It's amazing how China has mastered the subtle art of bromance or rather male affection that it's so beautiful to watch. The Untamed, Guardian, Word of Honor are some of the masterpieces of this art and I have a feeling that this will too fall into the same group soon. The OSTs have lyrics that are very suggestive of a romance even though I wouldn't keep much hope.

Facial expressions, especially the eye acting can depict thousand emotions that can surpass any physical intimacy. Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese BLs/Bromance series really know how to execute this.

I'm now a fan of this show and really look forward to see how it's going to unfold.

Actually the drunk kiss part happened after he told Pisaeng that he still liked Pear. That last scene on the balcony…
Oh for real?! yeah that makes sense. I totally missed it. Well then this makes it a whole different situation. I'm waiting to see if Kawi will continue to walk on eggshells or let Pisaeng move on or just realize his actual feelings.

Ok this should be by far one of my favorite Thai BLs. And coming from GMMTV, this is truly a surprise. They always seem to prioritize quantity over quality so I'm really glad this series is proving to be otherwise. Kawi's character development makes me feel like a proud mom. He still has a long way to go but at least he's being clear to Pisaeng without leading him on. I like that he admits he still likes Pear though his drunk self kissed Pisaeng. I just hope that Pisaeng doesn't get his heartbroken. He is one of the greenest flags in a BL. That man will give anything without expecting anything in return, and that's what makes it more painful to see him being treated less.
The story and the characters are very heartwarming and they're actually more realistic too compared to other BLs. Gawin is truly shinning in his role and I'm totally happy that he was chosen for this series. Can't deny the fact that Krist is frekn adorable as drunk Kawi, he dropped the biggest uwu moment when his pouty self was whining and playing with Pisaeng's hair. I totally agree with Pisaeng, I mean what more reasoning do you want to like Kawi when he's just so cute like that.
I really hope they keep up with this consistency. The plot is progressing well and the characters are delivering what they should.
Looking forward to next week.

Okay, they served for all the lost intimacy in previous episodes in one episode. Not gonna lie, Mr. Jeng can literally just recite a washing machine user manual I.will.be.on.my.knees listening. Gosh that man is ethereal. I was trying to hold my screams the whole time. Khun Jeng delivered without holding back. This is why I need more mature men in BLs. The way they handle "things" is totally different.
Aside from that today's episode was slow as usual. I understand the office rumors and where it's heading but assuming that some time has passed since Pat has started working at Jiang Group, he still seems too vulnerable and emotional. I almost rolled my eyes when Jeng told Pat can take over his position in 3yrs. He's still a baby and from the way he's handling things the boy has a long way to go before becoming anything. I know all of their judgements are clouded by being in love but at least Jeng should think things through a little bit. We'll be getting the cursed episode next week but I hope the leads will not give up easily. For once I need to see them fight head on without being scared. I know I'm throwing shots in the dark and it's always very unlikely that BLs will have any logical plots that would be more realistic but for the sake of the quality of this production the least they could do is TRY.
There was so much wasted potential. The second leads, Ae's best friend, Put, Chot,,,none of these characters were used for their worth.
But I always commend them for trying to be realistic about the office theme, it's a good effort.
Anyways, I'm glad I was introduced to Man from this series. The best thing to come out of this, period. I hope they'll end in a good note. I don't think a S2 is necessary. If S1 is like this already I don't think they'll come up with any better material for the next one. But please, I'd like to see Man in a well versed serious drama. Doesn't matter whether it's BL or not. That guy deserves the spotlight.

Absolutely loving this show. By far one of the most relatable and heartwarming BLs to come out of GMMTV. I stopped watching most of their recent BLs cz I felt that they choose quantity over quality but this is quite the surprise. I love Gawin and him as Pisaeng is the highlight of this drama. Krist is doing exceptionally well too. For an unexpected pairing both Krist and Gawin are really killing it. Choosing this for their comeback project is the best thing they've done this year. The plot, the characters have this very warm, emotional presence and each of them shows something relatable to the audience. I hope they'll keep up this consistency. I love it when you actually can see a plot progressing and true character development.

Okay, so Jeng is the prime example of a man desperately in love. His crying scene with Jaab and the ending scene where he sends the text to Pat after so much hesitation and the teary eyes were literally punching my heart. The timeline is honestly confusing a bit, I think it's on the choppy editing. Am I to completely ignore that they had a very intimate and emotional date last week and Pat has forgotten almost everything about it???!!! Like boi,,,you were in his arms while he was pouring his heart to you and you saw his ex and you clearly now know he's gay and suddenly you can't comprehend the fact that Jeng likes YOUUUU??!!! He woke up and didn't remember ANYTHING at all?! His rejection was harsh but it's understandable, my only confusion is why he rejected the way he did. He acted as if Jeng's advances and the subtle gestures were totally outta hand and surprising. For a gay guy, he's totally clueless when a man is showing interest in him.

From next week's preview, it seems Pat will come to his senses. It's the last 3 episodes, I want some quality JengPat content. We've been super patient for 8 episodes. I like that this is a slow burn but blame it on the inconsistency of the flow and the editing, the plot gradually became a wasted potential. But truly this is going to be one of my personal favorite Thai BLs cz I like the theme and it's refreshing to see a non-college BL coming from Thailand for once. The best thing to come out of this is Jeng. Man is a gem to the industry and he clearly gave a new standard to mature men in BLs. I'd love to see more of him after this is over. Maybe it's my age, but it's really refreshing and exciting to see an older character in the lead role doing something that resonates with the usual daily office life. I do commend the production team for trying to bring the close reality of an office to the series. Some may have found it boring, maybe it was a bit draggy but it was a good depiction. Anyways, I'm glad this BL happened. Compared to the total trainwrecks that ended recently (Thai BLs) I'd choose this over those a thousand times.

p.s. this was based on the cut version btw. I didn't watch the uncut version this time

Thailand is back in the game with their slow burns lately. Step by Step is serving us a mature guy while Pisaeng is giving us all the feels with an unrequited love. Gawin and Krist was the surprise pairing we never thought we'd need. Their chemistry is well off and the story so far has been interesting. I like that they ain't jumping to make Kawi - who's supposedly a straight guy, a gay guy just cz he knows his friend likes him. BLs are so quick to turn characters who've never even batted an eye at a guy fall head over heels for the next hot guy. We need to see the relationship build up and how he will realize his true feelings. So I'm super glad that Kawi is clueless and rebelling against it. But I wish he's less mean to Pisaeng cz my boi is so broken at this point. Pisaeng literally needs to change his friends and befriend someone who doesn't take advantage of him. His unrequited love is painful to watch and now since he kinda made it evident Kawi is gonna make it obvious that he's walking on egg shells.
Hope they keep this pacing. Give us a meaningful story. Not make the leads do the stereotypical BL tropes. For once I wanna see something different coming from Thai BLs especially one's that GMMTV makes. Cz tbh their college BLs are just overbearing at this point.

Oh God Yechan is such a big babyyyy. He's adorable with his puppy energy and pouty face. They've done a good job with the casting. It's almost similar to the webtoon. Only difference is Ye Chan is taller than Sun Yeol in the webtoon. Nevertheless, I love the story. It's cute and heartwarming. Wished it had more episodes. 8 is too short.

I need to see Man in more series. Doesn't matter whether they're BL or not. That man is just so FINEEEE. Why haven't I come across him before?!! And the dude can speak English too. Which means we have the possibility of watching some interviews without subtitles.
Well the story is actually going Step by Step, clearly the pacing is a bit too slow now. I know this is meant to be a slow burn and I'm fine with it. The run time is close to the length of a movie and to be honest there's only a less amount of context that is relevant to the plot. The rest could be skipped. That's what I do. If they've invested so much in production at least they could've built up a bit more solid plot. I love Jeng's character and the actor actually is good in his role, but I think the costar is still average in acting and needs a little more improvement. He's quite young and obviously he has time to grow. I hope their relationship will kickstart from next week as it should be. 4 more episodes to go and it better deliver the results of the slow burn.
I really liked that episode 8 served us a lot of Jeng and Pat only content. I really liked the casual Jeng. He's totally smitten by Pat, I just couldn't help but smile at his obviousness. Though the cliche ex trope is there from both sides I'll let it slide as long as Jeng and Pat shows maturity and proper communication. I just hate it when they make assumptions and miscommunications the crux of heartbreak for most BL couples. Bahaha I might be stretching this too much but in the upside I'm actually enjoying this. It's been awhile since I came across a watchable Thai BL. One reason is Man of course, I mean it's high time we get mature men in BL roles, cz I feel like I'm too old for all the overbearing college BLs. Manifesting for more older men in mature BLs.

Okay GMMTV you've surprised me after awhile with an actually descent BL. I'm glad to see Gawin in action after a long time, it's high time ma boi get some well deserved spotlight. The story is interesting so far and Kirst and Gawin was a surprise pairing for me. But seems like their chemistry is hitting off well. I understand why Kawi is so immature and Pisaeng doesn't deserve to be treated like that. I hope they'll keep up with the consistency since so far I like the pacing. Even if it is a slow burn as long as they don't do unnecessary typical fillers like most of the Thai BLs I will be okay. Hope that both Gawin's and Krist's comebacks won't get wasted.

After an eternity I'm actually invested in a Thai BL. Jeng's character is driving me nuts. My face was hurting from smiling in the karaoke scene when Jeng was all heart eyes at Pat. It was pretty darn adorable. GOSH it's been awhile since a Thail BL character is just generating such charisma, hotness and shit ton of testosterone like that!!! Why don't we have mature men in BLs!!!!??? We need more. And I just love how the story is pacing.

They aren't making Pat jump right at getting romantically involved with Jeng. I mean his character never had closure from his previous relationship and obviously it's understandable he's still frustrated and confused about his ex. I'm so glad they're showing how it's between Pat and Put so it feels natural to the audience about their falling out. Clearly Pat is over Put. Put was too late coming for his redemption.

And I'm so glad Jeng's not the kind to push himself at Pat and just use his authority to manipulate him. He's one of the greenest flags of BL series. A proper gentleman. I like how their chemistry is built up slowly in each episode. It's not flashy but subtle and their relationship is the literal depiction of the series title Step by Step.

Though the run time is a little too long I don't think it's much of an issue cz we always can skip the boring parts. I'm so glad we're actually getting proper context to a BL for once. I mean I understand each character's pov. The second couple hasn't impressed me surprisingly. Usually I tend to get invested in second couples in dramas more than the main couple but here my total attention is on Jeng and Pat.

So looking forward to next week. The story just started getting interesting.
