They were a delicate pair. A short series with a deep context. Bittersweet and heartwarming. If you're in for some melancholy but warm feels at the same time, this will do.
Bahaha I get the whole concept of this series being Mature and all but dude that was hella cringy. This is why Thai BLs are going to the gutter with every new release. There's no substance to the material. There was no direction to where that first episode was going. There are mature BLs out there, I mean Japan does a lot, but at least they take it seriously. They have good acting and a proper plot. I hope I'm proven wrong in the coming episodes and this series leads somewhere but so far the plot and the acting has convinced me otherwise. It's simply the first episode and giving it the benefit of the doubt is only fair. I wish the actors were given more workshops and I dunno who wrote those dialogues cz if people went around talking like that I'd have a hard time taking them seriously.
I would say that some HIStory instalments were so-so. Similarly My Tooth Your Love and Plus & Minus. However overall…
Totally agree. Even with the cliche content, they at least try out different themes and story settings. Same goes to Japanese and Korean BLs too. I'm not feeling the Thai BLs much cz they always recycle the same plot without even trying.
I think this was one of those BLs that was made for the pure purpose of boosting your serotonin levels. It was not a complicated plot, we got the usual BL cliches and the lead couple had great chemistry to top it all. Nothing was hard to digest, it's an easy watch for anyone who wants some fluff and cute moments. Shame that we only got the last episode to see them actually being together but they sorta made the whole episode of them being cute which was nice. Taiwan rarely fails to give us bad BLs and has always proved why they always top the game. Can't wait to see what's next.
It's been a minute since a BL got me giggling and smiling ear to ear. The leads did a pretty good job, it was an easy binge-watch with a very cliche but adorable college/high school romance plotline. I enjoyed it a lot. Would love to see them again. The chemistry gave me the same feels as Our Dating Sim couple, maybe not to that extent but close. I'd like to see them again if they do another BL. Korea strikes again with another praise-worthy BL. I feel like we might get another season cz seems like they gave a love interest to the second lead that wasn't revealed to us. Nevertheless, it was a sweet feel-good drama with two leads who had great chemistry.
Tang Ying and Elvis became one of my all-time favorite on-screen couples. Their chemistry was so natural and authentic that it felt so real. The story was so simple and authentic, that everything felt more or less relatable. It was a mature, slice-of-life, well-paced, and wisely thought-through plot. The romance was palpable and slow-burn, and the writers built it up naturally. I'd definitely watch more C-dramas if I could find plots like this. The chemistry was fire and the story was just right. Kudos to the production team for doing a marvelous job.
Kinda late for this, but I finished it. I was reading through some stuff about this drama and I don't understand why there's this weird hatred around the main actress. I think her acting was commendable and given the romance was slow burn the slow pacing is expected in a drama like this. Well for starters, I do think they didn't have to drag the story for 40 episodes. They could've easily cut 10eps short. Given how firefighting and medical stories were prioritized I think they did a good job doing justice to that aspect. Those scenes were well-acted and depicted. The main plotline was kind of unnecessarily dramatized by the whole FML's family being against her relationship fiasco. But I guess the driving point of the plot was that so they just had to keep going with it till the end. It was a decent story. I loved the whole cast. I especially enjoyed the early bromance the ML had with his subordinate/best friend who got transferred later on. It was such a lovely bond to witness. Also, the overall brotherhood among the firefighters was heartwarming to watch. Good for a one-time watch. I don't think I will exceptionally remember this drama much down the line, but it was a simple and lovely story.
I just finished watching this drama. Have seen the leads before but I didn't know much about them as I rarely watch C-dramas. This is the first time in a long time I watched one and I instantly got invested. LOVE LOVE the story. There's no direct plot necessarily, it depicts a very authentic office life of present-day corporate individuals. I could say very close to reality. Most of the time I find Chinese dramas to be cheesy and overly animated when it comes to the story and acting. I also dislike how they dub over the voices. This series pleasantly surprised me. I binged it in like 2 days. The plot was mature and as an adult in my late 20s, the characters felt relatable with their inner monologues and daily life struggles. I love the relationship build-up between Tang Ying and Elvis. They were not the typical lovers you'd find in a usual C-drama but more original and authentic. I love how slow-burn the romance was and also how it wasn't the center of attention at the same time. There are a lot of business subplots among the romance that somehow made the series feel more genuine and realistic. I like how the main couple worked through their shortcomings and were persistent. It was a nuance to see how the show managed to keep the momentum going even without a main plotline. It was just everyday things connected together. Definitely a great watch that'll leave you with good feelings. It's a mature story and will be relatable to any adult juggling office and personal lives. The relationship between Tang Ying and Elvis was sexy, mature, and very realistic in my opinion. If you're up for a slow burn and love slow burns like me, this is it.
As adorable as Amane is Ryuji on the other hand is one of the greenest flags I've seen in a BL. His whole character was caring, understanding, calm, supportive and just wholesome. I love how non judgemental and straightforward Ryuji is. He's honest about his feelings and lets Amane know what his standing is without giving forced confessions. This series was too cute but unfortunately too short. I wanted to see how their relationship is gonna build up now that they acknowledged each other's feelings. Like for starters how highschool's gonna affect them going forward etc. Nevertheless, Japan never disappoints when it comes to wholesome BLs. They know how to use the extreme ends of both heartbreak and wholesome in BLs.
No Way they're leaving us like that. They better be already doing the script reading for S2. These two need to come back ASAP. Bahaha I need to see them mouthing out loud their feelings for each other!!!! I was frustrated at the lack of communication and assumptions but somehow it seems like that's how the characters are written. But it just drives you crazy seeing them being dumb with each other! The chemistry and the awkwardness somehow worked well in sync. Love the pairing and Japan did yet another good job at a BL.
They're quite the adorable pair. The start is great and the leads are interesting. I wonder why it's only 5 episodes tho. Seems like a promising series.
Ooo they did us dirty leaving us hanging like that on episode 6. Last week's preview suggested otherwise for this week and NOW waiting till next Tuesday is like torture 😂 this is what happens when good shows starts airing once a week and you happen to watch it in real time. I should at least wait for a couple of episodes to air till watching these shows 😅
One of the Best BLs to come out of GMMTV. Hands down. Their chemistry was great. And the plot was unique. Not that it didn't have any flaws, but far far better than the recycled, dollar store plots they use for other pointless BLs. Not Me and Be My Favorite are two of the most refreshing and well scripted BLs from GMMTV so far. They should try making more like this. It's sad when they choose quantity over quality. Anyways, super grateful to have watched this. I'm gonna miss my Kawi, Pisaeng pair on Fridays. Love to see Krist and Gawin as an onscreen couple again. They blend well for a surprise pairing.
Absolutely in for the chemistry. I was just getting comfortable to ride along regardless of how ridiculous the plot might turn out to be but now I learn it's only 8 episodes. Well then the leads better start being gay soon. We only have 4 episodes left. I'm glad that episode 4 started with hope, now it needs to continue.
Despite the fact that this series is leaving me with more questions than answers, I can't help but watch it for Charn and Tinn. I thought this was gonna be another "Chains of Heart" but surprisingly these guys are way less shitty plot-wise. At least it is going somewhere regardless of the fact that it might anyways end up being some illogical reason for all of the mess everyone's going through right now. I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt for now.
I love everything about this show. GMMTV hit the jackpot with this. This is the kinda BL that deserves all the hype. I nearly teared up in the dining table scene with Pisaeng and his mom. The way he was falling apart in front of his mom and his quivering face was too much to bare. Gawin did well in that scene. Everyone's dreading the famous episode 11, I hope to God that we'll get our happy ending with this couple. Honestly, this show is much more realistic and natural than half of GMMTV's typical BLs. The fact that they're not only giving a solid storyline for the leads but for all the supporting characters too makes it more admirable. We see how each character comes to their own realizations and consequences of their behavior affects them. High key one of the best BLs of this year and also KristGawin became one of my favorite onscreen pairings for BLs.
Bahaha not them making the female classmate and little Duo into Fujoshis so discreetly. It's so obvious what the so-called novel is about which makes it more funnier. Ep 15-16 only served us Wu Bi & Su Yu content that I'm kinda dreading the coming episodes. I am not anticipating anything beyond their bromance as the current relationship already is serving us well without stating the obvious. There's a certain kinda feeling when they don't explicitly show the romance and let the audience interpret however they want. I feel that way it feels more intimate and exciting. The subtleness between the leads makes it more appealing to me than a mere makeout session. They have such good chemistry that at one point you'll see them being silly together and the next them being each other's support systems. You know the show is well produced when it can make you laugh and cry at the same time. I have nothing but praise for these two rookie actors, they're doing a marvelous job. A well-written script and natural chemistry is all you need to make it to the top. To me personally, the subtle level of intimacy in shows like Untamed, WOH, and Guardian could overpower even 10 NC scenes of a stereotypical BL with a dollar store script (hint: Thai college BLs). This too is easily gonna go down as one of my favorites for that same reason. These two boys are gonna break our hearts and mend it back again. My only hope is that they'll get a well-rounded ending.
They are the masters of the subtle art of an epic bromance. I don't care what you want to call this, for me this goes beyond any platonic relationship, Su Yu and Wu Bi have become each other's safe heavens at this point. They don't have to label it romantically, we don't have to do it either, they can call themselves brothers for all I care, but lo and behold episode 13 was the dawn of all realizations from both of them. The fact that Su Yu kept thinking about him, Wu Bi suffering alone, getting jealous, and finally both of them reuniting, it couldn't have gone in any other way. One of the other things that especially depict their relationship is the opening and closing OSTs. The lyrics are so sentimental and shows what kind of relationship both of them have with each other. It's so heartwarming and spot on. Wu Bi's jealousy and possessiveness can't be explained platonically, cz the man literally throws daggers from his eyes at anyone who remotely interacts with Su Yu in a friendly manner. This drama is one of the best examples for showing how to have chemistry and passion without stating the obvious. Nowhere it is mentioned that the leads will be lovers but the producers are capturing what we need to see as we know it. This makes me wonder how many masterpieces China is capable of creating if they loosen up the ban and give the creative liberty to produce more content like this. I mean I can be happy with this level. I won't ask for much. I'm already sobbing seeing this. My soul will take a walk in the park if they really decide to green light BLs one day. Thai BLs in the meantime should take notes on how to do college BLs without recycling the same damn plot. Cz if you compare that to this, it's like one will be nominated for Oscars and the other will be for Golden Raspberry Awards.
If anything this show certainly makes me curious. The leads have chemistry and the story isn't so bad either. At least they're trying to do something different. Thai dramas are very heavy on the revenge trope and I like that we get that in a BL too. I'm waiting till the leads come to a middle ground and start easing into each other. Tinn keeping his guards up is understandable cz Charn still looks like he's playing with him and he certainly has an agenda. He looks like he's been hurt beyond feeling any pain anymore. I hope the buildup to all the mysteries will be worthwhile in the end instead of being some sloppy reason.
OMG. Episodes 11-12 attacked me from every direction. I almost cried. This show knows how to tug at your heartstrings. The chemistry between Wu Bi and Su Yu is fierce. I don't care what they call this at this point. From Wu Bi's perspective he definitely doesn't seem to take this as bromance. For rookie actors they are doing a phenomenal job. When Wu Bi lost it when he saw that Ye Wanying had been staying over at Su Yu's room, I literally felt the pain emitting through the screen. When he told how he was outside the room and didn't want to disturb Su Yu cz it was so late and then he find that woman in his room it felt like a personal attack to me. That scene was well executed. Honestly, as much as I love the OG version I really love this version as well. For one, the actors look their character's age, and they are really doing a great job. The story is well scripted and directed. Tho I do find some filler scenes, they can be easily neglected and skipped to get to the important ones. Also need to praise the generous run time of the 4 episodes of each week, it literally makes up for the waiting for the coming week. This show's gonna make us cry more, but that's what makes this such a heartwarming series.

p.s. they have a great OST
