I think the dad intentionally caused the ruin of her mum's family, so that he gets to marry her. And she has been collecting evidence against him because of that. She wants Huanyan to leave and not get caught up in the Zhuang family's destruction.
Can someone who knows what happens to her family at the end of the novel spoil it for me? I know the drama adaptation…
The uncle (Che Xingde) and aunt(Che Yanqin) get their comeuppance. Apparently Wen Yifan wasn't his only 'victim'. Around the time that Yifan was living with them, he raped and killed one of the girls who'd lived in the same neighborhood (Yifan in fact knew her). The girl had been brought up by her strict father after her mother's death, and had walked out after a row with her dad. So the police simply registered it as a runaway case. The aunt Che Yanqin knew about it, but simply helped him hide the body. The news comes out after the Che Xingde assaults Che Yanqin's daughter-in-law. The family tries to hide it again, and unlike Yifan, she doesn't call the police. But the relationship between the mother and son gets destroyed and he moves out of the family home. Che Yanqin now blames Xingde for destroying her relationship with her son, and during one of their arguments brings up the matter of helping him hide the body. The daughter-in-law happens to hear this during a phone call, and immediately reports it to the police. Now it becomes a murder case, and Wen Yifan also investigates and writes a report on it. They find the body, and CX gets sentenced to death, while CY gets sentenced to 3 years in prison. Her husband divorces her, and she's abandoned by everyone. As for the stupid mother, her new husband cheats on her, and the stepdaughter also takes the side of her dad, so she's left all alone and comes looking for Yifan again, and tries to beg for her forgiveness. There's a beautiful confrontation between the two, and Yifan finally speaks out about how not being wanted by her mother had left her questioning her self-worth... how it had tormented her for so long. She then tells her mother to never contact her again, as she's finally reached a place in life where she no longer cares about her. She wishes her a good life, and tells her she'll be deleting her contact information (to signify the end of their relationship).
i like how he lets her deal with issues herself when she wants to but is still always on standby around in case…
Yep. He respects her and gives her the space to make her own decisions even if he might prompt them along 😂. I loved Ling Buyi from LLTG as well. But the way he dominates Shaoshang, and simply pushes forth their marriage initially was quite off putting.
for those who read the novel, is there a happy ending ? I know that the drama is different but if it's HE in novel…
Yep. Definitely a HE. Everybody else gets their comeuppance. Song Mo and Ji Yong have the occasional pissing contest. They have 2 kids, and SM is a very doting father.
His dad is definitely a big one. Though he becomes more of a comical villain after a while, cause he keeps getting…
Not a villain. but a second male lead. He and Song Mo have a constant pissing contest. The big villain is the rebel king that Song Mo supports in the first ep. In the novel he's Liao Wang, here Qin wang.
dear novel reader, please spoil me who is the main villain 🤧
His dad is definitely a big one. Though he becomes more of a comical villain after a while, cause he keeps getting tripped up by the main leads. There's his brother Song Han as well- he's incredibly disgusting.
i want novel spoilers.. can someone share?Who is revengeful lady, what is her real story, what is ML's background,…
Mu Sheng's mom was a succubus. They have split personalities, with resentful woman being the alternate personality. It only comes out once the succubus gets completely betrayed, and consumed by hate. And then it takes over the whole identity of the succubus. So technically, she's no longer MS's mum- she's dead. MS is also a succubus. It's the personality that comes out once his ribbon is untied. Once he gets consumed by hate, he'll also be taken over by the alternate personality. In the novel, MS used to mark MM with his blood so that he'll recognize and leave her unharmed even if he were to go berserk.
Nah. He misunderstood his own feelings for Qin Zhenzhen. And then it was more about their egos. By the time he figured it out, and wanted to reconcile with her, Su Rongqing had already appeared, and he was heartbroken upon realizing that she'd genuinely begun to like SRQ. But again, his ego made him unable to give in and admit it to her face.
why was she beating the drum, but everyone was just watching(she is jiang li ???!!!) did something bad happens??…
She beats the Dengwen drum as Jiang Li only in the novel, asking for justice for Xue Fangfei's father. The Princess had replaced her father with one of her cronies, and this guy tortures her dad by putting him in prison. So she exposes his corruption and brings attention to the Princess, as well as disclose how Shen Yurong had wrongfully accused XFF of adultery and then killed her. The princess is aactually pretty obsessed with SYR, and in the book, it's him who holds all the power in their relationship, unlike in the drama, where he's merely a reluctant participant. He's lot more cold-blooded and harsh and controls the princess very well. She reveals herself to her dad and brother, as well as the princess and SYR before they die...but that's it. She marries Xue Heng as Jiang Li and lives out the rest of her life in that identity. Because in the book, it's her soul that's in JL's body. XFF actually dies. And yes, Xue Heng is also aware.
I like the characters so much. She's so free-spirited and direct, and him so impassive and calm. The love may…
Actually, he did it precisely so that she would be forced to go back , and get married. She'd have been able to escape long ago, if he hadn't held her back. He was the one who established the marriage in the first place.
I'm on board with Tae Oh ending up with either of the Kang siblings: Inha/Huijoo. They've both got better chemistry with him than NHW. And honestly, the only reason why Inha even became interested in her was cause of Tae Oh.

He was a scumbag even as a kid. Just look at how he treated his mother.
