I think that you will like the Immortality, because the book that it is base on is full of TWISTS and TURNS. I think that the Husky and His White Cat Shizun/2HA has not been fully translated into English. I am starting to research this book and thinks that it may beat the Untamed with the story line. Of course, things may change if the script does not follow the book. The Untamed's live action drama did change a little from the book, but it mostly stayed true to the plotline.

Yang Zi and Yang Mi can act. Dilreba improved a lot in Eternal Love of Dreams. She just needs to learn how to cry. Arthur Chen in this drama is playing cute and I am not sure of how much "acting" he is doing.

I started to fast forward her scenes, then I just drop this drama all together. Ancy Deng is doing a better job than Cheng Xiao.

Tencent is billing Immortality as the new Untamed. So if Arthur Chen phones in his performance, then his career is done. I am also a big fan of LYX. I think that he knows how important this drama is for his career.

I think that I must have watched the Untamed 10 times including the spinoffs, concerts, and interviews. You may want to also watch the Untamed Special Edition and the spinoff movies, The Living Dead and The Fatal Journey. The acting is consistent and the actors really put a lot of efforts into their characters. The Special Edition is only 20 episodes and focuses on the main couple.

The young actors all said that they gave 110% of themselves in interviews. Some just graduates from college. If you get confused about anything, Tianmin Jun has a channel on YouTube that does a lot of analysis with English sub.
I started this drama due to Arthur Chen’s acting hype. He failed drastically and cannot be compared to even a support character from the Untamed.
Even the support characters in the Untamed have their own side story to tell.
Initially, I held back from watching the Untamed due to the overhype. But I end up watching it over and over again to see what I missed.
Even the characters’ songs are great! This drama now has a band made up of supporting characters and is on the worldwide tour. The name of the band is TUBS.
Sorry for the long post, but I want to share my thoughts with you.

Arthur Chen seemed to phone in his acting skills. The writer used every trope for this drama.

It was budgeted at $20milion. The low light and technical aspects represent the low budget. Immortality is budgeted into $100-200 million. I feel like Arthur Chen did not put a lot of effort into this drama. I agree with you about LYX’s acting.

I am not sure if the whole novel is translated into English yet. Tencent wants this as the new Untamed successor.

I think that she much better than Ouyang Nana in the Great Ruler. This one has more acting experience and is as stiff as wood.

This drama reminds me of The Great Ruler.

I hope that Arthur Chen’s acting improves opposite of Luo Yunxi. Tencent puts a lot more cash into this drama after the success of the low budget, The Untamed.

I am also hoping that there will be a spinoff base on his character’s story with XXC and Xue Yang,

Hope that she has more screen time than in The Untamed.

I think that their funding was cut. The amazing actors did the best that they could.
I am a big fan of Dylan Kuo after the Eternal Love of Dreams.

Yang Mi is not a producer, but her Jaywalk actors/actresses always seem to work on multiple projects together.

I guess that I am just thinking out loud for those of us who have seen The Untamed.

Too bad that Yuan Hao is not in this with her. They had such amazing chemistry in their previous drama that everyone thought that they were dating.

He still has Wang Hao Xuan. Yibo and him had the best fight scenes in The Untamed.

Song Ji Yang just graduated from school. Hope that he gets to shine in this drama. He had such a small role on The Untamed. His story needs a full spinoff.

Hopefully, Li Bowen has more screen time in this drama then on his previous ones, The Untamed and The Eternal Love of Dreams. Surprisingly, he can also act and dance as part of band, The Untamed Boys (TUBs).
