I don't understand why this has such a low score here 8.3, this is one of the best historical that I've ever watched.…
People voted it down as soon as it premiered because of their dislike of Sekyung, Eunwoo or both tbh. I totally agree with you that it deserves a higher rating!
One episode left! I feel certain this will end up as one of my favorite dramas of the year, but I'm also scared to find out how they'll wrap it up in just one hour.
About Eunwoo and his acting: I think anyone who wants to watch this show but is concerned about his performance should try it out at least through episode 5. He improves every week, and by the team we've reached the end he's grown so much as an actor that I can't help but feel proud. Also the story is immersive enough to give him room for that improvement without hurting the show. Long story short: I think people are overly harsh on him because they feel he has an unfair advantage as an idol. But he's honestly no worse than other young rookie idols with similar experience as him. He's made some missteps, especially in earlier episodes, but he has a lot of potential and he has a clear understanding of his characters that shines through.
I love EunWoo and Im the biggest astro fan, BUThis acting at gangnam beauty was lacking.Did he got better in this…
Acting's pretty subjective, so I can only tell you that I find his character very endearing here. Aside from an out-of-place moment or two in the first few episodes, I have no complaints. I'm sure you can watch a scene or two to decide if it's something you want to watch. Like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1phxMXlYH_k
The sheer number of reveals in today's episode! That was so awesome, it really felt like a mystery thriller. Also, Dowon keeps getting more layered as a character while till maintaining the gender role reversal that made the story so appealing in the first place.
As I look at the BTS videos from youtube, I realize what a wonderful job that the producer/director has been doing.…
Totally agree! It's lovely to see the atmosphere on set and witness the hard work of the director. And I'm positive the ending will be uplifting, because the drama as a whole has been. Solomon's Perjury, the writer's previous drama, was much darker than RHGHR and still had a positive ending.
Why does Netflix say that the next episode will be on September 18? That is two weeks away.
Yeah, Chuseok is this week in Korea, so a lot of dramas aren't airing. That's why the show will end on Sept. 26th instead of the original date of Sept. 19th.
Today's episode made me emo. They were so cute, and then it got so sad! Eunwoo also did a lovely job in the final scene, I'm enjoying the trajectory of his improvement as an actor. I'm definitely on my toes for tomorrow.
May I know how the rating of 8.3 came about? I am totally impressed with this drama overall. Where did the 1.7…
It got downvoted as soon as it was possible to do so, lol. Presumably because people didn't like the leads, as @savageaf said. But purely from a writing/pacing/thematic perspective, I think this drama is one of the best of the year.
And I don't think the acting is bringing it down, either. It's SSK's best work, imo. And while CEW is green, he's improved every episode and has not been a hindrance.
Sorry i didn't learn where in the drama indicates that the CP was a child of the streets, in which episode can…
Not of the streets, just that he said he grew up outside the palace when he was talking to Sahee. The reason being that he wasn't the Crown Prince until his uncle died and his dad became King.
This episode was amazing! Loved Rim stepping up to the plate, Officer Seong being super surprising, Crown Prince AND Queen Dowager both stopping the King... And Mohwa's flashbacks were beautiful and bittersweet, I'm very interested in how Haeryung's childhood will factor into everything.
Next up: Rim and Haeryung's fledgling romance tested already, plus the Temptation of Song Sahui!
Am I the only one who doesn't ship Sae Hee and the Crown Prince? I find her a little shady, and I really think…
I don't think he'll be able to trust his wife or give her a child until her father is dead or exiled, which might alienate her further. He knows she's not to blame for his aversion, but he can't help it. On the other hand, he is gonna get the shock of his life when he realizes the woman he's falling for (Sahui) is also reporting to the Second State Councilor. Even though I am sure she has genuine feelings for him and would turn against the SSC in a heartbeat for him - or simply once she learns it's the right thing to do.
The cuteness this week! Haeryung kicked so much butt, the King actually has layers, Yi Rim was adorably whipped and actually had some gumption, Crown Prince and Sahui making those eyes.... The ending!!!! I am well pleased.
