After watching this episode, I suddenly remembered the teaser where Korn and Knock were acting sweet and they…
They'll throw ina happy ending in the last episode, magically.

That's really harsh. I mean, 20% rate with 1? The series makes a lot of mistakes, that's true, but it's not that…
I see no redeeming quality.

It's not totally realistic as three couples (all friends) being involved in cheating is ridiculous, it is not…
I explained quite precisely what and why it was unrealistic. Re-read it until you understand. It's not the concept of cheating that is unrealistic. It's aspects of the plot and the many cheap contrivances and out of character actions they go through to achieve melodrama.

"So, these two regular, closeted engineers that somehow have a fanclub devoted to their relationship. A fan finds out that one of them cheated - already quite outlandish and contrived - and exposes him. In the heat of the confrontation between the couple the father of one of them conveniently walks in and witness the scene, doubling down on the drama. Is this the 'realistic' writing? Because a Mexican telenovela would be less overwrought"...

"Since last episode, conveniently, Knock is super in love and being nice to Korn to make today's scene more dramatic. HOWEVER, up to then, Knock not once before this season seemed to love Korn at all. He seemed disgusted every time Korn touched him. He was childish and dismissive of him. He was rude. He took him for granted. He was a complete jerk to Korn all the time. Suddenly, when it's convenient for the plot, he changes his demeanor completely to suit the episode, completely out of character to the way he has acted so far"...

You fans of this season need a better defence than "the show is not bad. It's the watchers that are immature". If you can't counter-argue people's many justified and fundamented complaints, then don't say anything instead of dispensing condescending deflection.

Omfg. FINALLY someone who saw it the way I did! I was confused about what I was seeing because sometimes it's…
In Together With Me both were drunk, neither was unconscious and both were very willing participants. That was not rape. If it was, who raped whom, since both were in the exact same situation? What happened there was starkly different from what happened with Kengkla and Techno, where Kengkla planned the situation, Techno was barely conscious or understanding his surroundings, Kengkla abused Techno who was not really willing, was passed out. Later Kengkla tried to use the fact that he was a minor to blackmail Techno into a relationship. That was very dark and very different.

Because it's a bad, poorly written drama. I don't think anyone has any problems with it being a drama. Together…
It's objectively badly written. It has huge gaping plot holes considering Bad Romance and Together With Me. Even if you ignore those and pretends only this season exists, characterisation is all over the place and inconsistent. Tone is a mess, varying wildly from scene to scene. Pace is sluggish and half the scenes could be excised. The plot is often too convenient and contrived. Long before everybody cheated - which is a plot they repeated for *all* couples - people were already complaining of how poorly written it was.

Of course taste is personal and people have different opinions and analysis. But I am tired of the narrative of, "if you have problems with The Next Chapter is because you can only appreciate fluff and don't like realism". This show is far from realistic...

Take today for instance. These two regular, closeted engineers that somehow have a fanclub devoted to their relationship. A fan finds out that one of them cheated - already quite outlandish and contrived - and exposes him. In the heat of the confrontation between the couple the father of one of them conveniently walks in and witness the scene, doubling down on the drama. Then he collapses on the floor. Is this the 'realistic' writing? Because a Mexican telenovela would be less overwrought...

Together With Me: The Next Chapter has problems in its writing and directing. It's not fair to accuse people who point that out with fundamented arguments to "not like realism" or that they don't know what gay people are like - because these people seem to think *all* gay people are jerks and/or cheaters.

No one is taking away the right of you enjoying this or seeing it differently. But there's nothing wrong with all the people who find fault with it. There is a lot of fault to be found. So drop the whole condescending tone of "I'm sorry this is not a cute rom-com". That is not what we have a problem with here. It's with poor writing and directing.

And as for TinCan, it's realistic that in real life some relationships don't work out or are left hanging, if realism is something you hold so dear in fiction...

I totally see what you mean. But there's something you may not be considering...Knock loves Korn. How do we know…
Here is why this is badly written... "Knock loves Korn". Yeah... Since last episode, conveniently, Knock is super in love and being nice to Korn to make today's scene more dramatic. HOWEVER, up to then, Knock not once before this season seemed to love Korn at all. He seemed disgusted every time Korn touched him. He was childish and dismissive of him. He was rude. He took him for granted. He was a complete jerk to Korn all the time. Suddenly, when it's convenient for the plot, he changes his demeanor completely to suit the episode, completely out of character to the way he has acted so far...

If this was a real life relationship, these two would never have a happy ending, because between Bad Romance and The Next Chapter, they treat each other horribly 90% of the time and only seem to really be there for each other when the writers need to write a happy ending in the last episode. They don't communicate. They sulk and pout like children. They are completely immature and hold grudges and act vengeful towards each other all the time. Knock acts like Korn is rapist whenever he touches him.

Sometimes it feels Together With Me was a completely different series, with completely different characters, but played by the same actors. Given the writers seem to have ignored that show and forgotten Korn has a sister and Bright is Knock's brother, it's almost like it was a parallel universe.

One thing I forgot to mention, KUDOS TO TUL AND MAX FOR THEIR AWESOME ACTING on the CHEATING CONFRONTATION! Tul…
They are incredible actors and I hope to see them in many roles to come. Max is in another series on right now, Bangkok Rak Stories, and he's great in that as well. I hope both land new roles in 2019 series.
So, everyone's defence seems to be that this show is realistic. I'm not even going to address that three very toxic relationships are being touted as what real life relationships are supposed to be like, I'm just going to talk about the quality of the writing here. Realistic?

Why is everyone getting so upset with the writers? It's a fictional drama. The actors are pouring their hearts…
Because it's a bad, poorly written drama. I don't think anyone has any problems with it being a drama. Together With Me, the first series, was also a drama, and people liked it a lot better. However, it had better characterisation, less plot holes and it was a lot less mandolin. People are entitled to criticise those faults, the same way you go on and on about TinCan at the LBC page.

In the novel - Pete break up with Ae to save him - cause Pete's father wanted to break Ae and Pete. Pete's father…
Actually, that felt very cliché and contrived, very BL-tropey in the way the first part avoided. That characters wouldn't discuss it for years, but still not move on, and have no resentment, all of that is very unrealistic and more akin to a telenovela. There are many ways the character could deal with that situation and they tried nothing. And regret nothing. And resent nothing... You could absolutely have a break-up, hindrances or even antagonists. It's just the way the novels go it's so Harlequin novel that it just undermines the quality work preceding it.

Actors sign on for TV often before they read the scripts; it's very rare for a TV series to have all scripts written…
It's not the subject matter per se. It's how badly it's being written. You can make a series about terrible people, like the very famous Tv show "House", but there is a way to do that. These writers are doing an awful job. There are huge plot holes, inconsistency, dull scenes, overwrought melodrama. They are simply destroying a follow up to a very beloved show. They are so bad, so bad that they are managing the impossible, to completely erase the chemistry these actors display in real life. They deserve the criticism.

We all know how the season will end. In the last episode everything will magically be solved, forgiven and we'll get a chiché, unearned, unrealistic happy ending... That won't change the fact that all these episodes were atrocious.

No one knows how this season will end, alot can happen from now until the end. I understand everyone is upset…
Actors sign on for TV often before they read the scripts; it's very rare for a TV series to have all scripts written in advance even before contract negotiations. This is solely on the writers. The fact that the story has been filled with gaping plot holes, inconsistencies, out of character moments just to fit the very melodramatic plot shows us they are not doing a good job.

A lot can happen until the end, but, even before the cheating, a lot has happened so far. These characters have been nothing but horrible to each other. You can make entertaining series about disgusting people, it's true. But this is mostly boring because the show is trying to pass these two as regular protagonist, not anti-heroes. Half the season in, I don't see how any writing can fix any of that.

Cheating must be really easy for you, since you dismiss it so freely.
