AHHH. You are exaggerating a bit. I mean after all Kiyoi was Hira classmate, and they did interact and know each other quite well in the past. Normal people will usually realise much more early that someone likes them, if the other person would have done what Kiyoi has done. I mean lol, they were intimate and all that, and kissed too, Kiyoi even asked if he never tought that he might like him, and he still didn`t get it.
In the part when Kiyoi confronted him about their relationship and why he don`t want to be his boyfriend, he answered in a totally wrong way too, like i understood what he wanted to say, but those were some messed up toughts. He totally crushed Kiyoi feelings in that part, like i would cut all contact with him too.
Hira is a really special, and unique case, but i understood why Hira was like that too. I think deep down he was scared of being hurt, like he didn`t wanted to believe that he can have a chance to be with Kiyoi , because what if he is wrong, his hope would have been crushed over and over.
Nagira Yuu writed Hira very well, in the end it all make sense.

It can be understood what it happens even with minimum japanese understanding, but there is also a translation transcript ( the content of the CD is translated) of the CD in spanish that helps a lot for people who also know a bit of spanish, or you can copy the words from the transcript and translate it yourself.
The CD should only be listened by adults, it has some explicit sex scenes, and it covers all that will happen in the drama until the last episode.
The CD is a faithful adaptation of the novel., and the drama follows closely what happens in the CD.

He cries more than two times, he is crying when they are having sex too, at least two times more, if you didn`t noticed.
It`s not easy to notice if you aren`t paying attention to the little little details and for people who haven`t read the spanish transcript. He is crying in the shower scene when he says he can`t do it anymore/ before they are moving from bathroom in bed. He says in the bathroom that they should stop there initially, but in the end he gives in. And he is also crying at the end, when they are about to finish having sex. But, i really get him, he has chosen to wait for Hira all this time, it was his first time after all, and while it was finally happening, i think he was overwhelmed too.
Our Kiyoi is a really emotional person when it comes to Hira.

Yes, the sex scenes in the CD are really moving, i almost cried too, i can`t wait to see what they wll show in the drama.

There is someone else working on translating the novel beside Straylations and who hopes she will finish translating the novel until next month. And after she has said she plans to translate the other two novels too.

I agree about this. I am also on the opinion that the production of a second season should be planned carefully, and not based only on audience request.
If the production team don`t have something different and important that they want to address or convey in the second season, is better to stop at season 1.
There are a lot of dramas that has multiple seasons where the other seasons had not managed to be as good and as liked as the first season.
And the popularity and people toughts on this drama are highly likely to change in the next episodes, so is better to first enjoy the upcoming eps first.

Thank you for sharing you toughts. I hope Utsukushii kare will follow Zettain Bl and Pornographer series, since the drama is as you said very well produced and the source material is amazing. Things will only get better story wise in the two other novels available, so is a pity if the story will stop here, but as long as the ending is great, i think many people will be contented too. It depends on the actors too, their availability and desire to play in another season, so we have to see.

Of course Kiyoi will get really jealous of Koyama and Hira relationship, at least in the beginning. But Hira don`t make things easier too, because he is not directly answering what he wants to do with his relationship with Koyama in the beginning.
Hira has decided really early to reject Koyama ( i give it to Hira, i really love him in those moments), so when Kiyoi is asking about what he will do when it comes to Koyama, Hira has already decided, but the dense and oblivious Hira don`t get the clue that Kiyoi is asking because he wants a serious answer that is important to him.
Koyama will do something to make trouble in Hira and Kiyoi relationship, and he is doing it in purpose. Is not something underhanded, he will only say some things that will really make Kiyoi angry, and this will make Kiyoi want to define once and for all what kind of relationship him and Hira have. Basically, what Koyama does will make Kiyoi impatient and want to confront Hira about their relationship.
About the moment Hira will realise Kiyoi likes him, yeah , this is..........GOD, this is the moment i wanted to hit Hira. It will happen very late in the story,most likely in the last episode. Like i mentioned before, Hira low self-esteem, his perception from high school that Kiyoi is really too far to grasp and is not someone he should hope he can have as a lover, combined with the fact that he never thought that Kiyoi might like him ( well this is also Kiyoi fault, his actions were too confusing in high school,). In essence Hira perception of his relationship with Kiyoi, which is something Kiyoi will be shocked too, will result in him really understanding that Kiyoi like him at the very end of the story in the novel. Is a very raw and honest revelation for Hira, and it feels is worth all the wait. The ending of the drama should be really memorable if they follow what happens in the novel and CD.

I will try, probably this will be a long post too.
I think the next ep will also have a lot of content from the CD with some little changes here and there, because this is what it looked to me from watching the preview of next episode.
So, in my opinion i think these are the things that will happen, at most in a slightly different order than in the CD:
--- they are going to show us Kiyoi POV of the things than happened in high school, but we will have to see if it will be shown at the beginning or as scenes that Kiyoi will remember as he interacts with Hira.
---- is obvious from the preview we will have Kiyoi calling Hira and realising he can`t be contacted and also Kiyoi finding Hira again with the "help" of Koyama brother, and making things happening for them to met again.
--- About Koyama and Hira status, i think the most likely situation is that Hira has rejected Koyama in ep 4 and was not shown and will continue to reject him, or he will reject him in the scene where Koyama is shown as being sick.
----They changed a bit the order of the scenes in the drama. Kiyoi has called Hira a bit more earlier than in the CD, at least this is what i remember but this don`t change things much ( in the CD Hira talks with Koyama, don`t go to meet him, and Koyama tells him that Kiyoi has been talking bad things about him to his brother to make Hira resent Kiyoi, but he will not get the reaction he wants, and Hira will not call Kiyoi for a month after, so Kiyoi is forced to call him after/ in the drama Kiyoi has called Hira before him going to meet Koyama because he is sick so we might not have the time skip of one month, and Kiyoi and Hira will interact more and more much more faster than in the CD.
---- I saw coincidentially a photo of Kiyoi being shirtless, and just out of having a bath, so we will most likely be shown that Hira and Kiyoi will become intimate ( you know what i am talking about).
---And about Koyama visit and him asking Kiyoi if he can stay at his house, will most likely replace the scene in the CD where Kiyoi comes to Hira house, but find out that Koyama and his friends are at his house. I think it was changed to be only Koyama, and this will make Kiyoi even more angry.
And after, i think you know what will most likely happen- they will finish the ep by showing Kiyoi finding out Koyama is at Hira house / or they they will show more, and we will also have Kiyoi getting angry, confronting Hira about their relationship, and leaving.
If we are shown until Kiyoi leaves and they will show more detail of that oral sex scene, i think we might get in the last ep, the scene of them actually having sex, i mean not as explicit as in the novel, but maybe they wil show something, since is important to the story.

Yes. They will not have much time to show a lot about him. From the preview i can tell he will bring some trouble in Hira and Kiyoi relationship next ep. This is for the better, but i was upset that he has done it purposefully, without even knowing what kind of complex relationship Hira and Kiyoi has.

This happen quite frequently when i made long posts. I have to edit them a lot of times, and sometime some things i write are overlooked by me.

I`m in the same page with you on this.
A relationship is much more stronger and hard to shake when the people in it, know the other is strong enough to handle things in his own and when they only intervene at the moment when they feel the other person really need it. There is always better for couples to set boundaries they shouldn`t cross, because is only then when they can grow not only as a individual but as a couple in a relationship. Kiyoi is the one that will make sure the relationship between him and Hira will work all the time, because is the voice of reason in him and Hira relationship, and this is apparent when they are intimate and when they really start dating.
I know from experience that being told what to do, what is the right thing to do from another person perspective, or others making decisions on the behalf of someone else is very harmful, because it can affect a person in a way that they don`t know who they are anymore, and sometimes they can become too attached to the relationship, to the point they lose sight of who they really are.
I wish Japan will make more dramas similar with this.
I have made a reply to someone a few minutes ago where i described Koyama toughts about Hira and Kiyoi relationship and the issues he also have to work on, because he has some issues which is why i don`t think he is the right person to be with Hira.

Kiyoi started to like Hira from when they were in high school. But he has realised just how much he likes him only after they graduated, so he was really devastated when he observed Hira has cut contact with him.
I think the moment when he really started to be touched by Hira and his feelings has taken a romantic turn is when Hira has rebelled and was hitting Shirota in his behalf. You can see even from the preview of ep 5 that he is shocked and amazed by him, like he has not expected for him to do that at all. And is obvious something changed after---- he lets Hira kiss his hand, hangs out with him and is even more patient with the weird love Hira has for him.
Kiyoi notice that Hira like for him is not normal, and is really intense mixed with obesession, similar with those hardcore fans of celebrities, but he likes being watched by Hira in that way. And this is because Kiyoi likes this kind of irrational and hard to explain love that he might get from people. This is also why he wants to be a celebrity, he likes the attention, but at the same time he don`t like just everyone who might come across that is similar with Hira. Kiyoi was really charmed by the eyes Hira has when Hira looks at him, the way he can just tell he considers him beautiful for who he is, his personality traits, the way he is behaving and not for his physical trait, not for him being actually beautiful. Hira definition of beautiful refers to the fact that he really likes Kiyoi personality, behaviour, the fact that he is able to do whatever he wants without being considerate of others, because he is the opposite, so he really admires Kiyoi for being the way he is.

The reason why he waited for Hira and didn`t dated or slept with anyone before meeting Hira again, and ever after, because like you said, a lot of people would do anything to be with him, is because he really likes Hira. Kiyoi love for Hira is as intense as the one Hira has for him, is just that the love Kiyoi has for Hira is more normal. He decided he wants to have sex for the first time with someone he really likes, so this is why. God, Kiyoi inner toughts are really something else, hope we will get as many as they can add.

Huh. I don`t know that much, since i don`t know a lot of japanese, so i didn`t read the novels in japanese, i just know where to look for information. But i will try to explain what i think his issues are.
I only know what Koyama is like from listening to the CD and reading the translation of the CD drama, knowing a lot of what happens in the first novel, and because i had a conversation with someone who read the novel and has said that Koyama has some big issues to work on too.
From my observations and other people as well, Koyama has this hero complex, in that the feels the need to save people he encounters from other people he thinks they are toxic, not good for them, but at the same time, his hero complex is so big that he sees only one side of the story, and is unable to see things in context.
For exemple in his relationship with Hira, he thinks that Kiyoi is toxic and not good for Hira only after seeing that reunion with Hira. Well, in a way i would react the same, but most people will most likely wouldn`t want to get involved in other people "business"/personal life, even if they are friends or someone they like, but Koyama has a strong reaction on seeing that interaction between them, and has decided he will do all he can to get Hira away from Kiyoi.
Koyama has decided Kiyoi is only a jerk, asshole, who only wants to use Hira and take advantage of his love from him. But he is unable to see how problematic Hira behaviour is too and that he might also be at fault of why Kiyoi is behaving that way. Koyama has not way to know that all Hira wants is to be together with Kiyoi and serve him the way he has done before (like in that reunion scene Hira wanted to get in his knees for Kiyoi lol, his love for Kiyoi is not that normal.), and he is not even thinking to ask Hira about it, he only thinks that Hira is this innocent victim, and things don`t work this way.
Koyama won`t give up in making trouble even after Hira tells him that he knows that Kiyoi is not a good guy, that he knows how his real personality is, he don`t mind being called whatever by Kiyoi, and even after he understand that Hira knows what he is doing, and him wanting to be with Kiyoi is mutual.
Anyway, Koyama will become a bit manipulative in the next ep and is a bit manipulative in the novel, as he actively try to get Kiyoi angry and this will bring trouble in Kiyoi and Hira relationship. Hira notices the fact that Koyama can`t give up and is hurting himself so he really tries to avoid him for a long time, and Koyama will give up eventually and come to accept Hira decision, so they can continue being friends.
The hero complex might come from him seeing his brother being making fun and bullied when he was young, and is most likely that he himself was bullied or looked down/making fun to, because i think he sympathize too much with people who struggle with things in life in one way or the other. This is might also explain why deep down i feel that he is not as confident, sunny and rainbows than he appears, and that he also puts up a positive, easy going and friendly impression, probably as a way to protect himself. I am not saying he is not friendly, kind, easy going, is that i think he is trying too hard to put this front, for things to go the way he wants them to go.
Koyama is really opposite to Kiyoi in personality and the way they do things.
Anyway the novel and story is amazing, hope more people will try reading it when is translated. Even through it might not be for everyone, it makes for an interesting read since the characters are really complex and the psychological aspects are big and tackled well.
I wrote a lot again. This is my habit, i feel the neeed to express myself as well as i can, to avoid people misunderstanding what i want to say.

Yes. I am so not ready to see Kiyoi when he will be close to crying and when he will actually cry. I am already predicting i am going to get really emotional.
I want to see the next eps you know, but when i think that we will see Kiyoi like this, i want to hit and shake Hira even more.
I don`t know why, but somehow i sympathize more with Kiyoi than Hira.

Oh no. This is definitely not a twist, lol. I mean people who pay attention can figure it out that the real him, when he is not working and when he is not with others is quite different than what he has shown. He is also especially weak when it comes to Hira, the fact that he cut off contact to him has hurt him a lot, so he is still a bit upset. He is still cool, but when it comes to Hira we will see a completely different side of him.
His personality will not do a 180 turn.
I had even watched the preview again and i can predict almost everything that will happen. Little changes are made, but they are few and needed to make the story more realistic.
I want the next episode to pass quickly, is my least favorite episode based on what i thInk will happen, but at least it will be the last episode Koyama will appear most likely.
I really disliked Koyama in the novel. Hira has done a good job on trying to distance for him, because otherwise he wouldn`t have taken the hint to not involve in Hira personal life and they wouldn`t be able to continue being friends. He will bring some trouble to Kiyoi and Hira relationship, but it was all for the better in the end.
