PS: Just scrolled down and saw how much vitriol everyone is spewing. Guess I'm in the minority (again).
I agree with everything you have written as well. I love how realistic this drama is, it feels like i am watching a really mature BL drama or a japanese LGBTQ movie, and i love to watch japanese BL/LGBTQ movies.
I think Makki being “emotional slacker” is because of the trauma Meiko and Eiji caused him. I mean he is very…
You are assuming things that you have not way to know and i hate this.
I read countless of comments that made me shake my head, not only on this page drama but others too, but i don't go assuming things or telling them there is something wrong with their perception or the way they watched it.
Reading the drama helps indeed but i can separate the drama and the manga very well.
Japanese dramas are usually well written, is just that the story is presented in an indirect way most of time and people have to analyse people motivations and make connections to figure out why they do the things they do.
I read the manga, but i also i am used to the way japanese dramas are made.
HAHAHAHA. I am so glad to see more and more people taking Makki side and being happy on the direction the story…
Only the IN THE APARTMENT BL manga has a translation. It has the story of Makio and Asato, which starts in the drama starting from ep 8. The manga In the Apartment has two volumes and only the first 4 chapters of the first volume has an english translation. The remaining of the chapters and vol 2 has a portuguese translation. Hopefully both volumes will be translated in the future because of the drama.
I think Makki being “emotional slacker” is because of the trauma Meiko and Eiji caused him. I mean he is very…
Makio is not an angel, but he is the biggest victim in my opinion, because he suffered and was wronged the most.
Eiji and Mieko are as complex as Makio, but i don`t like their characters.
Maybe you believe that all of them are equally responsible to what happened in the story but i don`t. Let`s respect each other opinions, i also respect yours.
Episode 6 ruined this drama for me. I dont know if I will be able to continue watching. Like I'm so emotionally…
Like the synopsis says, the relationships and the bonds between the characters changes so if you only lieked the drama because of their friendship and rooting for Eiji and Makio you will be disappointed. But if you really like the story, the drama and want to see how the characters end up and especially how Makio story will develop i think you should watch the drama until the end. The last 3 eps are adapted from a BL manga which focuses on Makio and another new character.
Honestly I have never ever been this much happy on entrance of a new character in a bl series but as soon as Asato…
HAHAHAHA. I am so glad to see more and more people taking Makki side and being happy on the direction the story takes. 😌😌 EP 10 shows how karma will hit hard both Eiji and Mieko. They definitely got all they deserved.
I saw episode 9 and I was like why Makki left, I was confused, at first I thought that Asato will help to fix…
It`s so fun reading your commnt. The three of them had sex together ( with both of them sleeping with Mieko) only one time ( at least this is what it was presented clearly) and it was for the sake of conceiving the baby only.
Makio only liked Eiji, he doesn`t like Mieko in a romantic way. Makio tried to dissuade Mieko from agrreing to do it several times too. It was obvious from Makio reaction and atittude that he wasn`t happy with this happening. I thought that he felt trapped between those two. He should have just dumped Eiji sorry ass sooner and i think he realised that in time.
But Mieko did liked Makio which is why she suggested to be a surrogat mother for their baby and why she lied about Makio being the father of the child.
All of them have sex one single time, which was 12 weeks before Mieko found about she is 8 weeks pregnant. They all had sex together about 12 weeks in the past, but she was 8 weeks pregnant which meant that Meiko has slept with Eiji after. If she would have been 12 weeks pregnant, both of them could have been the father but she was 8 weeks pregnant and Maiko didn`t slept with Meiko after that one time, so only Eiji could be the father in this case. This is why Makio was sure he couldn`t be the father of her child.
And you are right, Eiji and Mieko sleep together without telling Makio most likely and has started to spend more and more time together without him so this is why he started getting jealous and decided to confront them.
I have the same opinion about you in relation to Makio. He was the one that suffered and was crushed the most in all this. I also like a lot the drama despite how heartbreaking the story is. The complexity of the characters and the story fascinates me.
No. It's not up already. But they only released the other ones recently.
The sex scenes. There isn`t one in ep 9 between Asato and MAKIO?
Well is not as explicit as in other BLs from other countries, but is still more explicit than in other japanese BL dramas and i want to give the production team a thumbs up for it for the way they presented it ( it was filmed to have a strong LGBTQ vibe).
It`s a big improvement from the way those scenes are presented in japanese BL dramas.
I think ep 10 has some, maybe not really intimate scenes, but lovey dovey moments hahaha.
I think Makki being “emotional slacker” is because of the trauma Meiko and Eiji caused him. I mean he is very…
I feel exactly the same about this. I feel many people are seeing the characters actions based on what they want to see and what they think is fitting for the characters to feel based on their own limited or narrowed perception, but failing to see the whole picture. I feel some people are judging them based only on what they say and do, and not taking in consideration that people are more complex than this, that the circumstances can make people do things they don`t like, that not all people like to show all their emotions for everyone to see but are more reserved. In my opinion, Makki is the kind of guy that he use casual and easy words to be able to smooth things over. This might give some people the impression that he never cared about Eiji, that he goes through life without thinking things over, but this isn`t true. I feel that MAKKI is a very deep thinker and he always takes time to thinks things over, is just that the way he expresses himself ( which in a way is a way for him to not let people get to him, to still mentain a distance from them but also alllow him to fit in) might make people misunderstand him. People should look more at his body language and facial expressions than taking everything he says in a literal way. In my opinion, MAKKI loved Eiji ( otherwise he wouldn`t react the way he did) and he likes ASATO ( because otherwise he wouldn`t approach him the way he did, and his voice wouldn`t be cracking and looking emotional so many times in his presence). It`s also obvious how much Asato presence affects his mood and what he says. He definitely has feelings for him, but like you`ve said, Makki can`t help but keep his distance from him at the same time, to avoid being hurt again.
Again, i am frustrating with reading some comments. People are complex persons and i feel some people aren`t treating the characters as people. Japanese dramas/movies are extremely well written with complex characters and well acted, which allow us to be able to see them almost as close to how we are acting in real life. And i am sad to see people reducing them to objects in a way.
Makki relationship with Eiji has changed him ( people don`t stay the same after an experience like that), has hurt him deeply, and while Makki has always been the kind of guy who took the initiative and seemed carefree, he has a certain part of him that he tends to keep hidden from others. What happened with Eiji, has made Makki be afraid to get involved again at the same level. Which is why he doesn`t ask for more this time and is only contented with a relationship without strings attached. Asato has to be the one to change their status here, because Makki won`t do it. Many things that Makki experiences with Asato most likely made him remember of his experiences with Eiji. This is why he looks at the same time both happy and as if he is hurting. He likes Asato, but he needs reassurance, genuine affection, commitment and to move on from his past fo him to truly let Asato in.
Some things will be solved next EP and some things i will let my imagination do the work for those two.
The real BL/LGBTQ part start from ep 8, which adapts In the apartment, the sequel BL manga of More than words. But…
Hahahha. It`s up to you but i think is better for you to finish it rather than left it halfway and thinking of it being that drama you never managed to finish watching. Ep 10 gives a nice conclusion to the story and has really beautiful moments.
No. It's not up already. But they only released the other ones recently.
I watched a censored version of it ( some kisess/intimate parts were definitely cut)in Bilibili and connected it with the manga.. Furritsu is still working on the ep, so a subbed version is not available yet. Everyone is waiting for Furritsu to release the last ep.
Yes. They sleep again together. I am sure that Makio really felt hurt and betrayed by those two and we can see…
He'll be able to do it. We will have to give them time. They already started to get much more closer from ep 9.
In my opinion Makki started liking Asato first and approached him to be with him in a romantic way because he really likes him, is just that he can't help to keep his distance from him in case things would go wrong like in Eiji case, so him appearing cold sometime is just because of the Influence of the past.
I read the manga and in the manga Makki liked Asato first and he still approached him over and over because he likes him despite how sometimes he appear like he is hurting and not really happy with their relationship. He is in pain because his previous relationship still has a take on him, but i think he really likes Asato for him to be so courageous in his pursuit of him ( despite how he become so glommy and passive compared to the past)
Makki shows his affection in subtle expressions and from what i could see he is easily affected by Asato. Makio needs to settle his past as well which will happen in ep 10 and as long as Asato shows him more affection, Makio will commit to him fully. Makio is a very loyal person and i think Makki can feel he can trust him and this is why they make a really stable pairing.
and the things is you can't really curse them either, and that is even more frustrating, because they made them…
Yes. Exactly, His the series was a BL while His the movie was definitely a LGBTQ movie.
In my case i place this drama as being in between a BL and a LGBTQ drama.
I wish they would do a second season or some sort of continuation, but i think the chances are small for this drama.
I understand. In my case, i just really love Makio and Makio and Asato story too much and combined with how well made it is, i just have to give it a high score.
and the things is you can't really curse them either, and that is even more frustrating, because they made them…
LGBTQ is good enough too. People don't have to agree on everything.
I do think it has quite a lot of BL tropes to be considered a BL, it just that it has a much more heavy realistic vibe. But isn't no purely a BL too. I guess just hard to define it easily but i still love the way the story is told.
Mieko is a really weird and manipulative woman, both he and Eiji are weird, but at least in the end Makio is aware of it and he won't let them influence him anymore. I loved to see this.
and the things is you can't really curse them either, and that is even more frustrating, because they made them…
@8880089 It's a BL in my opinion. The last 3 eps has heavy BL content and the rest of the eps do focus on Eiji and Makio enough to be added in the BL category.
It can also be considered as in between a BL and LGBTQ drama too, but it can't be considered a hetero drama or a ordinary slice of life or other ordinary jdrama from other category.
I think is more accurate to say that is a drama that can't be placed in one single category easily but it doesn't mean people who consider it a BL drama are wrong.
They are wrong for considering Mieko a strong female lead in a BL lol. Like she is the weakest female character in almost all BLs i watched. She only rely in others to gets her way.
I read countless of comments that made me shake my head, not only on this page drama but others too, but i don't go assuming things or telling them there is something wrong with their perception or the way they watched it.

I found this drama to be really fascinating in this sense. I can't stop thinking about Makki.
