Title More than Words Spoiler
I would do exactly what Maki did
Yes. Maki already made up his mind that he would leave when he opened that conversation. This is my opinion about this.

I think he would have changed the mind only if Eiji would have said something to make him feel that there is a way for them to continue to be together, but Eiji didn`t and that was the end for them.

thoughts on Ep 7:a spoiler
I think this reveals how different this show can be perceived if looked from a different perspective.
In my opinion Makio had all the right to do it and someone had to do it.

In the first place Makio agreed to do it ( them conceiving a child that way) in consideration of Eiji and because Mieko was willing to do it.He didn't wanted to be a father, and i think Eiji and Mieko weren't prepared to be parents too, but Makio especially was really caught in the middle because is not like he wanted a child or Mieko to have such a big part of his relationship with Eiji.
He wanted nothing of that, he only wanted to be with Eiji.He didn't liked Mieko as a woman but because of the pressure he felt because Eiji wanted for them to have a child and because Mieko wanted to give them one, has followed along with them.

Makio was aware this wouldn't work and this is why he tried to dissuade Mieko several times. No one wanted to back off and no one has said anything when things has gotten even more awkward. Someone has to start the conversation even if he sounds like a brat and even if it sounds selfish because things couldn't continue that way.

Eiji wanted to give his name to the child without considering his opinion, he cared more and more for Mieko and Mieko started taking a big part of their life and even tried to manipulate him by lying to him.

Makio was wrong for running away, but what was he supposed to do. Eiji didn't do anything at all and he couldn't stand watching them together anymore raising their kid and him watching them from the sideline. Makio knew the break up will be inevitable and he just made things easily for Eiji and Mieko. He could have said even more hurtful words but he didn`t.You mentioned about him being selfish, but all of them were selfish and no one ( both Eiji or Mieko) were considerate of him.

In my opinion Eiji and Mieko has a bigger responsability for this issue and is only right for them to bear it.I am 100% sure Mieko knew that there is a big posibility this won't work long time when she decided to help them with the child. She isn't totally innocent in this either.

I would do exactly what Maki did
Me too. Exactly the same thing Maki has done.

Honestly there wasn't any other option left and Maki is still an ordinary kind of guy.

Hold up, wait a damn minute, they don't know who the kid's dad is. Damn what the hell happened in ep 6, lordy…
No. They do know. This is confirmed in ep 7. Eiji is the kid father, but both of them had sex with Mieko. Mieko lied at some point about this but she admitted that she lied.I am even more angry at Mieko for suggesting the idea and Eiji agreeing with it, after finding out about it. I was like, just how big the pressure Makio has on him to sleep with Mieko when he doesn't even like her in a romantic light.I am happy Makio got away from them and avoided involving with them further. That was a really toxic environment.Maiko has his part of responsability, but they decided to do this at Meiko suggestion, it was for the sake of Eiji father to have a grandchild and it was obvious Makio was never happy with it.The right thing would have been for Eiji and Makio to break up if Eiji wasn't able to stand up against his father , eventually becoming independent on it's own and continue to be with Makio and Mieko to accept this. But they didn't wanted things to change between them, especially Mieko sigh.

- Mieko is probably the character I understand the most despite her crazy idea and abnormal attachment to her…
I love your take on it. It's similarly with what i have written in a previous comment.Yes. It will 100% go downhill from here starting from next ep. I think that starting from next ep people will side more with Makio and get frustrated from watching what happens with Mieko and Eiji.Ep 7 frustrated me so much. Things escalates so much to the point that Makio is forced to do something about it lol, because the situation was getting ridiculous. From next ep, it becomes obviously that Makio has never agreed with this idea, and he just wished for someone to stop it.I was really angry by how much Makio is hurting because of this ridiculous situation which could have been avoided easily.

I hope there’s a season 2 for this. Eiji! Makio! Please!!!! Huhuhu
The story for those two ends in this season. I wish for a second season too, but not for those two.

The ending of ep6 has got to be the weirdest turn of events I've seen in a long long while. I've never been this…
Ep 7 will be even more shocking. This drama has a really unpredictable story.

Love the show, because the production values, technical aspects and acting are top notch. Story is typical but…
I agree with you in all this. It`a funny how we agree on everything.

I have the same opinion with you about some characteristics of the japanese cinematography. This is the main reason why japanese movies/dramas are the only ones that are watched by me constantly. The way the story unveils almost always keeps me in my toes and surprise me with something. In the case of this drama, i mentioned in other replies how i love how original, realistically and unpredictable the story is.

I sometimes feel that is exactly how conservative their society is, that is the main catalyst for their cinema presenting stories that are this bold, unrestrained and unpredictable, most likely for them to have a medium in which they would be able to breathe easily and experience the things they want to do but don`t dare thu ( in a theoretical way)?

About all this messy situation, i also think is just too unfair how in all this mess, Makio, who was always the most honest with expressing his feelings and living th most true to himself so he won`t have regrets, has to suffer and sacrifice the most. In my opinion, i think Eiji loved Makio too ( i watched the last eps too), is just that he isn`t fitting enough for Makio or prepared enough to be in a relationship with Makio.

Eiji is the oldest among the three of them, but Makio feels to be the one that has the most common sense and is the one that has the most relatable and realistic reactions. After all that happens in the last eps, i don`t feel a tiny bit sorry for Eiji, he should live his life taking responsability for the choices he made back then. I think when you will watch ep 7 you will get frustrated even more. Makio was a saint in this ep, both Eiji and Mieko doesn`t deserve Makio. I genuinely felt that Makio has not choice but to follow along, because he was aware otherwise his relationship with Eiji and his connection with both of them will suffer. He did made sure to dissuade Mieko, but she was firm too and Eiji was only thinking of himself and he pretended to ignore how much Makio is hurt by this situation.

In the last eps, Makio is tormented and unable to move on from what happened between the three of them, all the while until he meets Asato. I don`t want to reveal more of Asato to not spoil you. I believe that by meeting him, Makio was finally able to move on and find someone he genuinely like and enjoy to be with. Their interactions are really relatable and heartwarming in my opinion. I totally disagree with what someone has written- that Makio has decided to involve with Asato because he only wanted to be in a relationship with a guy (After he avoided dating anyone all this time. It was also years since that time, he didn`t do it only because of this), because to me is obviously how much he comes to care for him and how much effort he made for their relationship to get stronger and stay afloat. I have such a soft spot for those two guys.

What i can say about Mieko, like how Makio becomes in the present, she is a tormented soul too. I really understand her and i know she suggested all this with a selfless reason, but i got the feeling that she is aware what she is doing and she still chose to do it. I suspect the main reason why she did it is because unconsciously she wanted a place in their life and a more deep connection with both of them, being how they were the persons who were the most important in her life.

Anyway, i really liked Mieko presence and involvement in this story, is just that like you, i don`t like those kind of kindness and friends who seem to do things that benefits you, but still aware it will bring you trouble in the future. I usually try to distance myself for those people.

I really hope you will love Asato, because while he has his own issues, he has that kind of personality that makes him able to offer Makio the stability and care that he needs.

Popularity is not only about good looks or being attractive. In my opinion Makio is popular because of how sociable,…
Huh. I don't find the actor who plays Eiji to be that gorgeous. I mean he is good looking but compared to some others really good looking japanese actors, he is as good looking as most japanese actors. It might be because i also watch non- BL japanese dramas and movies, but the majority of japanese actors are good looking and people are just used to it and doesn't mention this that often as with this drama.

Popularity is not only about good looks or being attractive. In my opinion Makio is popular because of how sociable,…
@Maggi64 I guess i find those things superficial and it doesn't bothers me. I don't like when people start to generalise those things. Yes, maybe they casted a much better looking guy than how the character is in the manga, but many of the things people say can be debated. Maybe other people close to Eiji and Eiji himself don't see himself as being that good looking. Not all good looking people are perceived as such by their family and not all good looking people get popular. It seems to me that Eiji is not the type to want to be popular and try to be popular ( quite the opposite). If a good looking guy doesn't want to attract attention and engage with people around him, he might not get noticed that much.I don't know, i just think that the personality of the characters is more important than their looks. I find is more important how they perceive themselves than how others perceives them. In my opinion, the actors fit their characters well and play them with great conviction and passion. They really do a great job at acting, and to me this is the most important thing.I hope all people who started watching this drama will continue watching because a lot of unexpected things will happen. It has many twists and i guess a really realistic and shocking ending. I personally really like the ending for this drama. It might be the ending that i like the most for all japanese BL/LGBTQ dramas that i watched until now. I love how unpredictable the ending is.

Popularity is not only about good looks or being attractive. In my opinion Makio is popular because of how sociable, helpful he is. I remember that in my middle or high school years, the most popular guys weren't always the most good looking ones, but the most friendly ones and the ones that has given a confident aura. I don't know how to explain better.

I saw your other reply to me, but i will reply to it later today, because it will most likely be a long reply and i don't have as much free time as before because of work.
