Just found this on MAL, h ttps://myanimelist.net/anime/41919/Mo_Du_Zheit already has a PV here h ttps://v.qq.com/detail/m/m30q8dgfz7qy1sm.htmlI…
Like btstaeing said, the pv has been released by more than a year ago, and being that this is a Tencent production ( Tencent makes donghuas too) the release of a donghua pv means nothing, as it may take a long time before the donghua will drop even if the pv is released ( Tencent is not like bilibili where at short time after a pv is released the donghua is droped). I observed this from watching the release of other donghuas by them. Before the release of Mo Du donghua, i think the release of the drama will take place first but who knows.
what do you think the chances are of them releasing it, but not in China itself? I've been thinking about this-…
Yes. That period and the few years before has one of țhe best made bl movies ever - the two part movies Iresistible love/Uncontrolled love ( i think this is one of the best bl movies China has made), and A round trip to love were the last untouched by censorship i think. Like love movie series, Yandai byway no.10 were some good ones made before them. I think the release of Addicted heroin was the main reason for the changes made at the time. From what i remember, More than a word and Til death tear us apart were affected a bit by censorship, as they were released right when the changes were implemented, so they have a degree of censorship made, especially Til death tear us apart from what i remember.
what do you think the chances are of them releasing it, but not in China itself? I've been thinking about this-…
I personally think that both Immortality, Winner is king and other chinese bl dramas can be aired and more bl dramas can be made, if some minor changes are made to the already filmed cdramas for the romantic undertones to be undertones, nothing more ( definitely not how the romantic relationship was in WOH, i think bl dramas make in a similar fashion like WOH will not ever be able to pass censorship anymore, and only bl dramas that keep things subtle like Untamed will be able to air hopefully). I hope like everyone else that Immortality and other bl dramas will be released if not this year at least next year, when things calm down a bit. What happens right now is much more bigger than making changes to the chinese entert industry, but also to how the chinese enter is perceived by people. It seems they are concerns that bl dramas released influence young people more than it should ( and i think is valid if it happens, because bl dramas released in China are getting more attention than bl dramas made in other countries for exemple, and they are made in a way that can fascinate young people (by this i mean children), especially xianxia, historical ones, since they have good looking leads, good stories and characters that can make young people infatuated. I read that more and more chinese teachers, parents are making complaints that kids are buying bl novels, because they watched and liked the drama, without even knowing properly to what they are getting into. In other countries, especially South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and western countries, bl dramas aren` t made in a way that they can attract that much attention from all kind of age groups, and they are usually watched by people who are specially looking for them ( the targeted audience), so i understand the concern really, because the appeal of bl cdramas made in China has seen recently a surge of popularity and attention that surprised even me, really. I also think the ban towards the "effeminate, pretty men", refer to the make up the actors are made to wear in cdramas, and they want this changed. I agree with this since sometimes when i watch cdramas, all actors, actresses just has too much make up and are so flawless, and usually it don`t even fits the character. And when viewers watch the actors being so flawless, especially minors, they begin to follow the way the actors look in dramas and make them want to be as perfect as they are, and is harmful in long term. In my opinion is better for actors to wear less make up ( they are beautiful/handsome without that much make up anyway, they are naturally beautiful that`s why they have the celebrity status) , a more careful subtle one, than some heavy make up i saw in some cdramas. Sometimes i can`t continue a cdrama when i see the characters being so flawless, being hair, make up everything in any situation, it just gets OCC too many times i can count, and it make me sad. So maybe because probably i am older than the majority of the people commenting here, but i think those changes will bring good things long term.
what do you think the chances are of them releasing it, but not in China itself? I've been thinking about this-…
I mean nobody can stop you for thinking that, but everything that happened in the past and happens now point out otherwise. Things are getting stricter, not lessened. I don`t think production companies will take the risk to go against what is considered the norm in the chinese industry. Right now, actors are giving up their foreign citizenship and getting chinese citizenship only so they would not be targetted ( a recent exemple is Nicholas Tse), as they think is a safer option and they are giving up to represents advertisments that are usually picked up by woman celebrities ( like for lip gloss and similar things ) who can bring them a lot of money, so they conform with the rumoured news. Everything that is rumoured to happen right now even if they aren`t written in paper affects the entert industry, this is what i want to say.
what do you think the chances are of them releasing it, but not in China itself? I've been thinking about this-…
Is 100% because of the rules really, i mean i don`t want to crush everyone hopes, but i haven`t heard of any drama that was made by China, not released in China but for international fans first. Is just don`t happens. Take for exemple, Zhao Ge, who is a Huanyu production i think, initially was shelved because of an actor scandal, or something similar, but is a high budget drama that has Yu Zheng involvement in it, and if they could they would have released it until now, but with ZZH scandal it will most likely not be released ever. Another exemple is Golden hairpin, that has finished filming, it has Yang Zi, is a high budget Tencent production, but because of Kris Wu scandal they have to reshot a lot of scenes, cast another actor, a lot of money lost, or they will not be able to be release it, which is really unfortunate for Yang Zi. Golden hairpin is a very sought after drama, it has Yang Zi, why do the production team bother to reshot a lot of scenes, and lose a lot of money, when they could just release it outside of China, is obviously is because they aren`t allowed to do it. Wang Yibo and Chen Xiao has a crime/invest drama that has failed to pass censorship three times i think, because it has scenes related to the crime genre that the director don`t want to be removed, so it has to be reviewed again and again, why they wouldn`t have released it outside China if they can.
what do you think the chances are of them releasing it, but not in China itself? I've been thinking about this-…
I think most likely yes, is what it happens for years, anyone who has watched cdramas especially for a long time, or if you ask someone who knows more about how the chinese industry works will tell you the same. The opinions expressed by me is what i observed from watching cdramas and movies in the recent years, from reading chinese entert news from i like to think reliable accounts. I read about this in cdramapotatoe account too. For exemple if you take the path that a cdrama has to take to be able to be released in a platform, being Wetv, IQIYI, Youku etc, it has to be submitted for censorship, then get a broadcast license, and only then if nothing happens until the drama gets a spot to be broadcasted ( like a scandal from an actor, some new rules released etc) only then the drama will air. The drama that has passed some of those phases and didn`t managed to be released, are shelved (put on hold, not released) until the rules are lessened, or things are calming down, or in the worst case, don`t pass censorship, or is stuck in a phase, they will not see the light of the day, but will not be released, not even out of China. I read they are dramas that has finished filming in 2018, and aren`t able to be released even until now. Only cdramas that are made in another countries, but has chinese actors in it, and they want movies usually to be screened in China, are released for international fans first( as it wasn`t China who made the movies, as usually they are movies). After the new system that every cdrama, being BL or BG dramas has to pass censorship, who was added i think after the years 2015-2016, i don`t know exactly, but it wasn`t added for a long time, every drama and movies has to folllow those phases. Before, China had bl movies, like actually bl movies how South Korea has made in the past, that has kisses, intimate scenes, basically, how other countries make bl movies. but after this new system they aren`t being made anymore.
I want to share that the novel that this drama is based was picked up to be translated starting today. I will add the novelupdates link in the discussion thread i will make for the novel. I will add the link here too. When i made a novel thread in the discussion sections of other dramas in the past i had not problem with them, but recently, i observed an annoying thing- Is not shown in the page that the discussion thread was made, people has to actually click on CREATE A DISCUSSION ( this suggest that a discussion thread don`t exist when in fact is there when you click on it) and is just incovenient. https://www.novelupdates.com/series/bat/

No. I know for sure that for any cdrama and cmovie to be released out of China, it has to actualy air in China first. It has to air in a chinese platform first succesfully, like all eps aired and not be pulled out, because if is pulled out we will get a partial number of eps, they will still not release the whole drama even in this situation, not without some heavily editing of the scenes, like how it happened with Guardian. I wrote this so people know what to expect, this wishing for the drama to be released outside the China, without actually having to be released on China is wishful thinking, it just don`t happen, in a way because they will lose a lot of money if they do that, but because they can get in trouble with the govern or other organizations that regularize this, is not as easily as people think. Like you said Yin Yang Master: Dream of Eternity has actually aired in theaters in China, was actually released, so being released already, they can`t stop the movie being available to international fans.
