Yes. I have a similar opinion.
Zhang Linghe is obviously perfect for the role, they did really well with him. He has everything, from enough acting experience to appearance that resemble HC, AND really attractive and handsome looks.
Funny, i also wanted Ding Chengxin as XL the most, but i am sure he will at some point in time play in a danmei adaptation, maybe when he is ready and with a role that fits him more.
But i started to get used to Zhai Xiaowen being Xie Lian, because he does have this innocent, kind, easy going, but especially kind of like in his own world /confused vibe, but also giving this oblivious impression that Xie Lian has. I think his appearance and his personality being close to Xie Lian is the reason he was chosen, since this is the way the actors is chosen when they don't have acting experience- they usually chose someone that has habits and behaviour similar with the character he is casted for. This happens a lot, not only when it comes to the casting in China, but in Korea and Japan a lot.

Yes. The fact that the emotions are portrayed to be so raw, is was it makes the movie so fascinating. And this movie is an improvement from the two miniseries made until now. The actors are as good, but the writing and directing is much better put together.

It seems the rights/license for the adaptation of TA belongs to H&R Century Pictures no Mango TV.
H&R Century Pictures is Liu Xueyi and Ren Jiulan agency, so that`s the reason of the rumours a while back.
If is true the rights were brought by H&R Century, they will probably collaborate with Mango tv in some way.
Also the actors casted will most likely be from H&R Century , since this is what it happens most of the time. Outside actors are casted only if the actors are not a good fit for the characters.
H&R Century Pictures ( or HR/ Huanrui) is Yang Zi agency too, and i heard this agency really push they actors to take the roles they want and the dramas they are involved in.
But the good thing is i think this agency has influence and it has a lot of really popular and established actors. So maybe Thousand autumns LA is not as doomed as some think.

But just bear in mind that most of these are probably at the pre-production stage and it could a while before we even see any movements. There's been reportedly over 59 BL adaptations from end of last year that have been bought.

So i found out what the relation is between H&R Century Picture/Huanrui and MANGO TV when it comes to TA.
"MGTV holds the airing rights, not the production license. Some of these also aren’t under Huanrui directly, but rather companies they work with frequently, so people just say they’re under Huanrui since they’re going to be the main force anyways.
The dramas Huanrai has made until now aren't really considered high quality (Love and Redemption was their first hit in a long time). Depends on how you define successful, but guess they're most known for Noble Aspirations (mixed reviews though) and Swords of Legends" -

In other words MGTV only holds the airing rights, they will not be the ones that will actually produce the drama. Huanrui is the one that will decide everything. Hush, i am so relieved.

Something interesting is happening in China related to the casting in danmei adaptations.
It seems the actors and agencies are seeing the advantages and the value in playing in a danmei adaptation.
I just saw a rumour of "#ZhangBinbin to play one of the male protagonists of “FOG” (FOG电竞) live action #cpop"
FOG is a danmei novel from the sport trope ( games), and is a decent enough novel. It has a good and original story, and i understand why they will made a danmei adaptation, but i never imagined Zhang Binbin accepting to play in a danmei drama.

They seem they want to cast Zhang Binbin and Zheng Yecheng for the main characters in FOG. Zhang Binbin costar from Love O2O.

Yes. All recently rumored actors are basically confirmed, since they are photos of them going at the training they have to do before the filming start. They just didn`t made an official announcement about the cast. Maybe they want to be prudent, since sometime the cast has to be changed, but this very rarely happens.
