Well written article, even though I disagree on the autism of Moon sang tae being misrepresented. As a person…
Sending hugs to you, both my siblings, 1 have autism, the other one is a slow learner + ADHD, totally get the burden part. I think this drama wrote that part quite well, symptoms are accurate too (I swear they can play their favourite video on loop the entire day!!)
Contrary, here writing is exceptionally well for a fluffy romance drama. First of all it is explained in excerpts…
I do agree with you that she's a habitual liar- but not in a serious criminal way, her lies are what get her through day-to-day life since young. She needs to be quite independent from a young age due to her upbringing. I really like the comedic tone of the drama, really happy watching this, the SML is stupid but he's also so funny to watch, kudos to the actor.
----Little bit of spoilers up till ep22 ----
Male lead part, I watched till ep22, so far they did explore that part, he went to see a psychologist and they kinda explain his changes, which I think its legit. So far so good I would say, given this drama in its lovey-dovey romance genre. I especially find this scene by the botanical park in the rain extra romantic, there's also another scene upcoming in ep22 that is also romantic in the office and they went for BBQ after work, it felt really realistic, that I actually see the leads in drama that works till late night, and enjoy some late dinner after work. I really do see the ML and FL matching well as a couple in terms of their personality, they have this not-giving-up vibe. If you see the FL being 'tortured' at work, she still manages to do her work AND think that she can learn more with ML's guidance, which is such an important trait.
This drama is really better than expected. What I expected would be a lovey-dovey but stupid plot that focuses just on the love relationship part, but instead, other than the amnesia thing which usually happens only in dramaland, the plot is quite diverse and interesting. Best part about the show is its comedic tone, they try to make some scenes really funny, and they are! The 3 female leads in this drama are actual professionals in their career (not the typical dumb-stupid girl we get in Cdramas), the FL is basically the bread-winner of the company that she is working for, the SFL is a prestigious lawyer, very capable in doing what she does, and the TFL is the CEO of her family's company (SML's elder sister).
The FL is what I call a strong female character despite her upbringing. So far so good I would say.
THANK YOU FOR THIS REVIEW, i rated it a 10/10! More people need to watch this, it came out high quality despite the budget, it keeps you waiting for each episode every week (i watched it while it was on-air). Everything about this is a masterpiece, most importantly, the script is good and they take the audience seriously with no dumb story plot or too modernized scenes.
PS: the male lead is secretly very romantic in his own way (awwwww!!)
Am I the only one who is ok with the amount of screentime the trio have? I feel like they already explained everything…
i think its because the love trio and Myeolmang couple feels like 2 different stories. Everytime they skip to another scene, i feel like i'm watching another drama and its weird
I still don't feel any chemistry between the leads, and I probably never will. Maybe because their interactions…
errrr, because this is a fantasy drama? I'm sure there are stories about terminal illness that goes with the vibe that you just mentioned. Maybe fantasy drama is not your type of drama
Dropped the drama after 3 episodes mainly due to the plot. Don't really like how they built the female lead's character. Not liking the robot heart setting either. The male lead is kinda depressive, his friends should encourage him to see a psychologist and not sweep his problems off the shoulders just like that.
i watched the first few eps, its really bad, trust me
i've watched ep 1-6. Its a very typical Chinese novel kinda story (those very cliche kind), arranged marriage story, fine, twin exchange, fine. But the way they put the characters and their behaviours are very illogical. FL agreed to marry in place of her sister but she ran away halfway, stole a car in the process and fell asleep in the car with a stranger driving (it was the ML but also a stranger at that time). ML hid his identity from the FL because he thinks her reaction is funny? Do mind that all these happened without any context or explanation from the plot, the plot did not explain why the leads have such behaviours. The entire thing feels like a child play to me. Its a very rough production.
Again, everyone has their own opinion, and this is mine AFTER I watched the first few episodes, I have watched a bunch of fake marriage plot dramas but this one didn't make it to my passing line.
