If you didn't know about the webtoon wouldn't you look at NamSH as a father figure older bro towards those he…
I can see that and did view that as another way to interpret Yeo Joon and Soo Hyun's relationship (perhaps even more accurate interpretation since they apparently aren't a couple in the webtoon?). On the one hand, it reads as YJ seeing NSH as a substitute brother (and maybe father) figure and he's hoping/yearning to find that love and acceptance from NSH that he doesn't get but wants from his biological family.
On the other hand, I haven't read the webtoon and didn't know anything about this drama before starting, but I still thought YJ and NSH could be love interests lol. I'm not someone who typically shouts, "This should have been a BL!" when I see a good bromance, but this one hits differently. The chemistry between YJ and NSH is so palpable and so much more intense than that between YJ and So Bin. To me, looking at chemistry, it makes more sense for YJ and NSH to be the couple, or keep both boys single and focus on their backgrounds and platonic relationship. Or, at the very least, find some way to give YJ and So Bin more chemistry to make their attraction believable lol.
yes she did, and both characters were in TT2, and one of them was main character.
lol oh lord I can only imagine. That sounds….interesting, to say the least.
Yeah the problematic Mame plot devices I can take or leave—some are more tolerable than others—but my big issue with her scriptwriting is that her dramas are largely filler and smut with 2% plot development per episode lol. It gets boring to me, and that’s not even counting the overused tropes.
I didn’t watch TT2 (could barely get through the mess that was season 1) so I have absolutely no idea who these characters are or what their backstory is lol. Seems like the special episode is good for filling me in, so I’ll probably give it a watch and see how it leaves me feeling.
It’s now maybe back on—what a rollercoaster! Lol. The writer wasn’t happy and pulled out but now it may be fixed. Idk I’m gonna cross my fingers until it actually comes out at this point lol
Haven’t watched the special episode yet, but I see from comments that this is connected to TT2. Does anyone know if Mame wrote the script too or just the book?
I’m afraid so 😣 It may still happen but I guess everything is uncertain. There’s tons of comments on the page talking about it if you haven’t already checked lol
I didn't read the novel, are their story really messed up?
I remember hearing that it was very abusive and romanticized all the wrong things, but the writer or director (can’t remember who) said it wasn’t going to be as bad in the series—like basically I think they were going to add consent lol). Not sure how the overall response to that was, and maybe OP can provide some more details about the relationship in case I’m wrong.
