I didn’t say one way or the other how I felt about it. I wasn’t as thrown off by it as I was expecting to be based on the comments here because it wasn’t as explicit/major, but I also understand where the people who are upset are coming from, and I felt they were being misconstrued and their argument wasn’t being accurately addressed, so that’s why I’m pointing it out. It’s that potential violation of privacy that I believe people don’t like. I don’t want to speak for them, but that’s what I took from their comments, and it seems to be getting looked over/misconstrued.

I was soooo anxious thinking she would mess up while Seo Jim sang lol. The only sabotage I can think of is that maybe Seo Jin can’t sing a high F because of how she acted immediately after the fact, so now there’s these high expectations that she can’t deliver on once (if) she gets her voice back. That’s kind of lame though lol so there must be something else.

I’d say SKY Castle because Penthouse has 3 seasons. They’re definitely similar but SKY Castle has a more serious tone whereas Penthouse said, “Give me allllll the makjang craziness” lol. I think (hope!) you’ll enjoy both!

I agree with you! I think compared to other BLs, this one is definitely up there. But when you're comparing it to other crime/mystery/thriller dramas, it's around average. In addition to what you said, I think music choice has a lot to do with it as well. I wish they used more dynamic music for some of the more intense scenes (and maybe some more dynamic camera work as well). I found the end of episode 13 very moving, though. Looking forward to the finale!

Lol oh yeah I gotchu! To me it seemed like a lot of the comments focus on the “normalcy” of the person doing the peeping as a means of justifying it rather than on whether the people being watched felt violated or not, which I feel is important to put out for consideration. In other words, just because it’s normal to peep because it happens all the time doesn’t mean it’s okay if the ones peeped on don’t agree to it (which again, for others, disclaimer: haven’t watched yet so idk how this couple felt lol just speaking generally). As an extreme example for comparison, you could argue that it was normal and part of Japanese military culture at one time to keep comfort women, but that doesn’t mean it’s acceptable. Not saying you were justifying it of course. Your comment just made me think of that distinction about consent lol
