Yeah, for me there’s something off about Solo and Gui but I just can’t place my finger on it. Maybe because they’re both kind of stiff and reserved, so their dynamic is rather one note and monotonous. And I haven’t felt that spark between them, which I think is bc they didn’t really have a buildup in their relationship. No tension.

I think they mean most “bi” characters in Thai BL aren’t actually bi. They’re “gay for you,” which is tired and needs to be retired lol

And also bc they’re probably written by actual screenwriters/people who went to school for it rather than any Joe Schmo who writes fan fiction on a WattPad-esque platform. (Lmao sorry I don’t mean to be petty towards some of the Thai BL shows but it’s true).

The synopsis sounds soooo similar to Nothing But Thirty (not to mention LZF stars in both lol). Are the dramas super alike?

Lol no you’re spot on. A few of us have noted that before about how they never focused on singing and never sang live. I noticed a few looked to be lip syncing too. It’s ridiculous. I miss when kpop bands actually sang live while dancing. I missed the part about the contestants being able to choose how much would be real or not. Was that during the assignments? That’s interesting.

Glad I’m not alone in that! The finale was so tedious to watch even without knowing the disastrous results. I ended up skipping through most of it. It’s 3 hours 50 minutes long, and they managed to devote the entire last 50 minutes to revealing who the 7 winners were. It was ridiculous! And BTS and TXT were awkwardly sitting there, I had secondhand embarrassment. BTS at least got to talk some, but they weren’t really utilized at all except as trophies for BigHit or to get more views I guess. And then the eliminated contestants were there too looking understandably miserable. It was quite pitiful. :(

I don’t know, the only character I can’t relate to is Gui. I feel like all of the other characters have enough character and individuality that gives me a sense of who they are, but Gui is so...blah. He’s just there. Blending in with the scenery even though he’s a lead role. I hope they give him more development/backstory.
