I rewatched episode 5 and I saw in the present days that when Hee Do is supporting Min Chae when she's just a child, she has a ring, but not on the wedding finger.

At this point in time, I am also most interested on the dynamics in the past rather than what has happened in the present! I love them both and I want to continue cheering for their happiness and their dreams! But it's also fun with all the theories and everything~

Yi jin and Hee Do realized that it is love at 25 and 21. It was a healthy relationship built on mutual respect…
I feel you on this as well haha, but at least if Min Chae is Yi Jin's father, we can still see more bits of their relationship. I think they might also make the present characters play their younger counterparts, if they start reminiscing their past , as other dramas also did.

I do not think he will die nor be in prison. Aside from this theory, there's a possibility that they just moved on for good and Hee Do found another man but their relationship did not become successful and did not get married and meet Yi Jin in the present again. Or Hee Do married Min Chae's father but died...

While I think this another theory is still acceptable, I don't think this is a good resolution because I do not think Hee Do will just fall in love with another man and have a child with him. But, well, there's still "times" playing with us with all the time skips they did on previous episodes...

It's 4 am in the morning and I decided to create a theory on who's Kim Min Chae's father, check my reply! ♡
Yi jin and Hee Do realized that it is love at 25 and 21. It was a healthy relationship built on mutual respect ❤️, however, the "times" decided to get it away from them. It could be a problem from Hee Do or Yi Jin's family.

They believe that it's best to support each other from a far. Just like how Hee Do did not get angry at Baek Yi Jin suddenly leaving when they're 22 and 18, and instead, still rooted for him and prayed for his happiness!

So, both of them focused on rebuilding their lives.

I think this separation could be from Hee Do's side, as they first separated at 22 and 18 due to Yi Jin's side.

So, fast forward, 5 years later. All seems well for the both of them and it's destiny that they met again.

At 30 and 26, both are adults and still love each other. However, it seems like "times" have changed and it changed them as well. There were also unresolved ghosts from Yi Jin's family and past.

Or, there's a dream that is worth pursuing. So, they separated for good—tying all loose ends. They were happy for that short time, and once again, respected each other and chose to move forward. In episode 4, I do not think Hee Do resents Yi Jin or anything in the present.

Hee do learned that she's pregnant, but she chose not to tell Yi Jin due to the "times". The "times" could've been "bad" or an "opportunity" to Yi Jin, that's why she did not disclose he's Min Chae's father. She believes that it's the most appropriate on the situation.

Her mother also knows that as well and that could been the reason why she asked Min Chae in episode 4 if she knew Baek Yi Jin or the person in the photo. She did not agree at her daughter decision at first but respected it.

In the present, Yi Jin is also alive and doing well just like Hee Do. In this theory, it would be so dramatic to make Yi Jin have his own family. 😆Soooo, he still doesn't have a family and diligently works hard at his current career!

As Min Chae reads her mother's diary, she learned that her mother only loved one person and that is Yi Jin and starts to put things together. Hee Do and Yi Jin will meet again and will reminisce their past.

The daughter learns that Yi Jin is her father, but she's not angry.

I think this is really possible because we don't really see the father. Min Chae will ask Hee Do about this and would like to meet Yi Jin.

Hee Do and Yi Jin will reconcile and rebuild their friendship in the present times and the ending will be an open to interpretations if they will get back together.

Of course, even though it's open ending, Yi Jin will be happy knowing that he has a daughter and wants to be a good father. Seeing how he's family oriented, there's a higher chance they will now have a good family as the "times" opened that to them! 🤗

So, that's it!

Note: I got this theory from everyone else who believe (1) Yi Jin is Min Chae's father but he doesn't know and (2) Min Chae will make Yi Jin and Hee Do get back together. I just waved it all together to arrive at this conclusion. 😌

I think the "times" will also play a very important role in their love story, as it did in their dreams! 🤗 I think the "times" playing on people and our relationships with our loved ones is harder to conquer than on how it plays on our dreams.

Disappointing from lee byung hun.
Just read the whole comment thread from this, but I think what the commenter is saying is that it was disappointing from his/her/their point of view, because it doesn't seem to be a masterpiece type of a drama according to his/her/their taste or that its vibe is something he/she/their is not into!

With that, I want to share my opinion as a person who've watched the teaser multiple times, Lee Byung Hun surely knows a good drama. The drama seems promising. I also love the writer and have watched many of her dramas and she was good!! I've also watched many of the casts in these show and they were really good, honestly, I was a little surprise to see some as supporting casts, but I guess you cannot just turned down a good drama! This drama seems to have a refreshing vibes and something out of the common and ordinary action dramas that in my opinion, overly congested in the streaming markets. So that's it. I am also a fan of such dramas who manages good comedy and is able to hit my emotions, so I'm so in for this one!!

well said chingu though I am "saving" a few more episodes then start watchingI started ep 1 and feel the angst...…
I think you should definitely start watching this drama now to savor the moment even better. Hehe. My experience as a binge-watcher made me forget about the little things, hence, watching slowly like every week makes me appreciate the drama more.

For your question, it is still not yet revealed if Kim Min Chae is really Yi Jin's daughter or not. But it was confirmed that Min Chae doesn't know about Baek Yi Jin and even his face when in his 20s. So, I think there might really be a possibility, that she's not his daughter, unless, there's really an interesting and sad story that happened that would make her really his daughter. While, the two leads up to episode 6 has still not cross the lovers / romantic story line, they have a very special relationship and a very special friendship and we are slowly seeing how it will build their relationship as lovers soon at the right time. That being sad, I think it it such a very very sad thing for them not to stay together in the end and I would dare say that fate really messed them up!

Y'all, I love love love episodes 5 and 6 so much! Episode 5 made me so emotional and I just want to keep rooting on the happiness of both of them and their dreams—Hee Do finally being a national fencing team player and Yi Jin's dream to reunite his family and just to get back up on life. I really lost it when I saw Yi Jin on the payphone kept on playing Hee Do's voice message and when he reached her hand and they both run together even apart! Yes, that's the beauty of this drama! Two people who share grief, root for one another, and want to seek happiness together—tightly holding hands while running even though they are apart! They are so far away and yet, they still bring comfort to each other. What a powerful message of their special friendship. No matter what happens to both of them in the future, I will really treasure episode 5 and I believe both of the characters as well!

Now, episode 6, I think this is more upbeat and I loved how it emphasized them trying to move forward on their dreams and also an episode where both Yi Jin and Hee Do grow up and climbed up. With Hee Do trying to have a boyfriend and her becoming Yu Rim's rival, on the other hand, Yi Jin is starting his career as a trainee reporter.

We also see more of Hee Do's hard work coming into fruition and just by looking at her, you really see how happy she is and it makes you become inspired as well. I also want to add that Hee Do is so pretty when her eyes glisten, when she smiles and when she talks about fencing. Now, I've come to fully understand why Yi Jin misses her and why he finds comfort in her.

I know, some might want to keep the romantic interests going years later, I get that, but some beautiful relationships are rooted in friendship and emotional support to one another. I just knew they already have special spots in their hearts, they will not deny that because they knew it as well. ♥

I'm so rooting for both of you, Hee Do and Yi Jin! Fighting and continue fighting for your dreams!

What's up with the comments section repeated mentioning of Nam Joo Hyuk's acting? I haven't watched much of his…
I also forgot that I've watched him Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo and his character's story made me sad T-T

What's up with the comments section repeated mentioning of Nam Joo Hyuk's acting? I haven't watched much of his dramas and I've got different opinions based on the genre and characters he has acted. He was fun to watch in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, I think he was not mature enough in Bride of the Water God, I am yet to watch Light In Your Eyes, but I read good feedbacks that he's good there. Now as Baek Yi Jin in Twenty Five Twenty One, I think he was doing really good and I love his character.

I guess there's no reason to always bring down an actor, they're all just doing their best at the moment and will continue to learn. Just think about how you do in your jobs, sometimes, we have projects that suck and there are projects we are so proud of. I've got that, sometimes, I make fun of my work, sometimes, I want to boast all day. Critic all you want but not to the point of spoiling too much enjoyment from others^^
