A year had passed and I was able to see again this masterpiece, unlike from before, I was able to even appreciate its soundtrack even more especially the orchestral ones—beautiful and haunting. The rewatch value has also been higher because as you rewatch the drama you will even find more. I hope to those who are yet to watch this will savor every moment of this masterpiece!
After a year, I realized that Flower of Evil's rewatch value has been higher and there's more analysis that you could get from it, also its soundtrack was beautiful and haunting that I just knew I did it bad with the not perfect rating before. ;)
This comment section was a proof that healthy discourse is still quite far on social media...I hope to remind everyone that everyone is entitled of their own interpretations, beliefs and opinions. Also, a drama is a form of an art, therefore, you do not force your own interpretation to one another, instead, you discourse healthily. You don't tagged someone as "stupid" for not having the same interpretation of an art from yours. You believe this drama had many flaws? Or do you believe that this drama was misunderstood and so the characters? Then again, you discourse healthily.
Lastly peeps, just not because the majority likes or hates a drama, then that doesn't mean that was the "correct" one. Happy watching and I hope drama watchers could have their own analysis over a drama and not just join the "bandwagon".
He acted marvelous in Chief Kim and now that I am currently watching Cheongdamdong Alice, his acting was beautiful and very sad with Moon Geun Young! Such a very very good actor.
Moon Geun Young and Nam Goong Min's love story was so heartwrenching, I was just crying with them. Their beautiful acting wanted me to root for them to stay togeher, but I guess, something needs to end or break in order to build new things. I guess that the fall out of their relationship early in the drama was meant to build their selves as new and stronger individuals. As I watch this drama (I hope it will not disappoint me), I will just continue to root for their individual happiness! Fighting! And to everyone who suffers, it is okay to stop and rest and admit our weaknesses to ourselves and to others. We may not make it today, but I believe the world is round and not everything is constant, therefore after resting for a while and gaining enough energy, let's again embark on the great journey of OUR life. This is our life, not theirs, but ours, let's set our own goals and our timeline, what matters at the end of the day is what we believe in ourselves and not others. Our happiness and our well-being matters more than anything about money. Fighting!
This could've been a comfort drama, something that wasn't trying to have a strong plot but has a nice, simple vibe that would make you smile--I liked it a lot for that; unfortunately, the writer opt for that kind of ending. The things that happened in the end was so out of the blue, rushed and did no justice to the main characters. The one thing that I supposed made me annoyed a lot at the end is how badly it was written and executed since the emotions that was supposed to burst didn't came to me.
Anyway, I'm glad I've watched this and discovered Kim Ji Seok. I've watched him in You Came to Me and Became a Star with Jung So Min (same leads), that drama special was so good and heartbreaking, their performance was both quite good, esp. Kim Ji Seok who I now appreciate his versatility. His sincere performance in that drama special could break your heart. Now, I've watched him in other dramas as well and followed him on Youtube, such a funny kind and smart ahjussi. xP By the way, the chemistry of the leads is already good since 2013. ^^
I think there is also some issues with the directing, I think it opted to become more of a comedy rather than romance after the leads got together. I would agree that their romance here is not top notch and there were times I don't know if I should just cringe or laugh a loud at the silliness of the leads, but, since I watch this for fun of course I just laughed those scenes off and prettily enjoyed this drama except last ep. I actually loved the ending of episode 7 where he saw her waiting for her at his house; episode 14 when they reconciled and hugged one another; and also the romantic moments of the leads in episode 15. I believe the drama would've benefitted a lot if they focused more on its sentimental and sincere moments, which now leads me to recommend my favorite drama special, where Kim Ji Seok and Jung So Min were also the leads, "Came to Me and Became a Star".
They were especially good there at their emotional scenes especially Kim Ji Seok. I was actually amused that he could deliver such kind of performance, but he did! Likewise, Jung So Min was good at her subtle emotions. Their chemistry was also very good which I believe you might even find more compelling than here. Kim Ji Seok also had quite good emotional scenes in Top Star Yoo Baek, partnered with over-the-top romcom, but still pretty much balanced. I hope you can watch some of his dramas sometime^^
^ That's what "My Golden Life" is. It is a very emotional story of a family who broke down, lived a difficult life, trying to find the best versions of themselves, fighting for their dreams and hopes, and trying to keep their family whole again. This drama will always have a special place in my heart because I've watch this during the times I was close to feeling nothing and this drama made me feel their warmth and love. I hope my friends will also watch this (:
to be honest I don't think Yoo Baek would even do that hehe. I rewatched the scene, I had an inclination that…
Ohhh, good theory too! But, now, I am thinking that reporter was a former part of his team before that incident happened. Maybe he was testing if that reporter could be trusted?

to be honest I don't think Yoo Baek would even do that hehe. I rewatched the scene, I had an inclination that IF IT IS REALLY about a "woman", I think she was scamming Yoo Baek or blackmailing him with a child that is not his or a non existing child. lol, I don't know.
I just knew that I couldn't trust the P.O.V. of a reporter who was always on the search for gossips. I also think that it was parallel to the first misheard phone call on episode 8 by another grandma which thought us that not everything we hear is the truth and it could've been distorted or something, and without the details or further evidence, few words cannot guarantee us the whole truth. Anyway, I think it would really best to forget that about Yoo Baek, since, maybe it was just added to create some "juicy" dialogue for the reporter flashback scene but it was not flesh out and having based on Yoo Baek's character, he's not a bad person.^-^

Btw, from the reporter's point of view, I know that everything said about Yoo Baek is not the whole truth and could just be a lie or distorted truth, but I would want to hear some thoughts why Yoo Baek at ep 8 in the phone call talking about abortion?
Sorry but from what I've watched about Yoo Baek, I don't think he would do that to his own child nor he was evil enough to order his girlfriend to do that even before he met Kang Soon.
This drama has beautifully captured the bizarre and simple life of that island! This drama was so endearing, it got me grinning at almost 6 in the morning! Of course, this drama needs to suit some taste, it has that old school feeling, slapstick comedy and a little bit of spices from our cliché tropes that they have spiced up and created their own uniqueness making this drama more hilarious! It was also satisfying to see Yoo Baek's relation with everyone around that island not only his sweet relationship with Kang-soon but with his grandma and his healing relationship with his mother! 11 episodes drama were tight and I believe all has ended with happy hearts and warming conclusion -- everything that you'd want to accept in a romcom!

Wait, I also loved the show but I was wondering about that scene too! I don't waaaaant to believe Yoo Baek had a girlfrend and he wanted her to abort their baby. :< Oh no, I really loved this drama. I also cannot picture Yoo Baek doing or saying that...
