This one really surprised me. I started watching it without expecting much, just as an “in-between show” while waiting for another one to finish releasing, and wow, what a surprise. The special effects aren’t the best, but the chemistry and story totally won me over. Even though it has 33 episodes, the arcs are well-developed and nicely tied together. A really pleasant surprise.
I loved both the manhua and the donghua up to their current points. I watched the first couple episodes of the…
Some things changed in the live action. There are a few characters that don’t exist in the manhua but were included in the show, and vice versa. Besides that, I think the two main leads are quite faithful to the original story. Changge still keeps her tactical mind as well. I think you should give it a try and watch it! To me, it’s my number one favorite Chinese drama. It’s such a pity it was filmed during the COVID times, and some of the battle scenes were replaced with animations, but it didn’t take away any of the show’s brilliance.
I saw on Viki that they released an animation and I was so excited to watch it that I didn’t even realize it only had 16 episodes and it stops right at the best part of the story. This is without a doubt my favorite Chinese series. I’ll have to rewatch it… I just wish the author of the original story would give it an ending. For those who haven’t read the manhua it kind of has no ending and the animation doesn’t either but the show’s writers actually created one.
This drama hooks you in a different way. At first I honestly wasn’t into the story that much, it felt like nothing was happening and some episodes even felt like fillers… but it was all so pretty that I kept watching. And THANK GOD I did. It’s the kind of show that just gets better and better, and from the middle to the end it’s REALLY good. Beautiful and captivating story, great characters, AMAZING chemistry.
I always see this happen: whenever a beloved actor does a new drama after a super popular one, fans from the old show show up just to complain or say the new actress isn’t good enough. Stop that, it’s ridiculous and tacky. Appreciate the actors on their own, not just because of your favorite ship. Before this one I watched Legend of the Female General and Cheng Lei was incredible with insane chemistry with the also amazing Zhou Ye. Now he came back and gave another great performance with Song Yi. Let’s give them credit so they keep making good couples with talented actors, instead of whining about it. PEACE
The last 8 episodes were amazing! Like literally if they didn't make episdoe 20-30 filler-like, it would have…
Yeah I had a feeling that some whole episodes from the beginning/half seemed fillers. The series itself are the final 8 episodes. And yet it's a very good series. I just thought they lost the timing of his discovery of who he really is.
I'm so mad at this writer who made him a fool for 30 episodes and is only giving me 8 episodes of him as the cold, calculating prince (I know it was cute, but THAT whole magical fighting world + Jade Linlong plot could’ve ended way faster ugh)
I watched this series when it first came out and I was the same age as the character. Back then I kept postponing getting braces but I finally did it and now that I’m getting them off, I remembered this silly little show that randomly stuck with me. I used to feel embarrassed about getting braces as an adult but whether you do it or not, time will pass anyway. Don’t let age stop you from doing things.
This one is REALLY good. It might be the best Korean series of 2025, I guess… Korean shows have been getting sooo bad, so I’m really praying for this one because the start is so good. PLEASEEEE!
Sigh, I'm still here... When I go through difficult situations, I think about a phrase said by the Turtle Master. It makes me feel so calm, i dont even know how to translate this full in english.. in portuguese the meaning is so beautiful....."a vida é o processo de não ter nada até não ter mais nada'. Life begins with nothing… and ends with nothing....
I like both leads but the story just isn’t that good after episode 4 or 5 I think. I feel like Korean dramas are going downhill lately, there's not much to watch after the first few episodes. And even though they cut down the number of episodes the stories still feel dragged. What's happening?
I'm on episode 4 and I just can't feel anything that makes me want to keep watching. It feels more like government propaganda to boost the number of applicants for the police entrance exam.
When FL - many call her lazy for this reason - in the first part (no need for so much text - just kick me out)…
Honestly I thought people were gonna like the character I thought she was super fun even the way she jokes about drama clichés I was really surprised to see people hating on the diva 😭😭😭😭
