Currently on ep12. Got a lot of negative things in my mind especially during her boarding school arc. Basically she, learned therefore me the viewer nothing in the school. Excluding the warden and that one girl where hana didn't even consider her a friend, every one else just plain annoying. It made me think that she didn't learned jackshit during the span she enrolled and before the letter incident. After the incident, i just watched her read a book for 10 seconds and then time skip 5 years later.. Still walking while reading a book where everyone else in awe of her. What's up with this 'I'm the main character vibe' here? Personally I'm not a fan of that. I don't know how school was back then but come on, at least let me see more of her learning, involve more in class before the time skip.
And what's up with her dad? I'm just gonna love hana and f all my other kids approach? At least he's not that annoying of a character. I can tolerate him so far. Ok, enough of my ranting.. Time to continue watching to see where this story goes.
They tried to lighten up the preaching by using musical format. Sometimes that worked for me,sometimes not. The overall storyline is great and engaging. All the casts are great. Riisa naka's face just too damn beautiful to be true. I am not simping here lol, but my god, looks like God sculpted her personally. Overall 8.5 for me.
What makes me keep watching the drama is the career storyline of the male lead. That's the interesting part of this drama. Take that out and you got drag of a mystery drama. 'Their marriage' reminds me of another drama, 'ryusei no kizuna', but the thing is ryusei has interesting storyline each episode while revealing bit by bit the mystery.
This drama though, such a bore. You can basically watch the first ep, then just skip to the last two episodes, i believe you will not be missing much. Man, i just want to watch takako matsu act in a normal drama again, is that too hard to ask? Overall, 6.5 for me.
Few things i want to share with you guys, first, anybody else think that takeru satoh looks like kamenashi kazuya?? Second, i believe shiraishi sei looks better with shorter hairstyle. Lol. And i admire her for taking this role, good for her. Oh, how I wish to see more up and coming actresses that usually play the heroine to take an antagonist role once in a while. Other than shiraishi sei, i can only think of yuina.
6 episodes in, because fatemasubs the fansubber is on hiatus as far as i know. In my humble opinion, one of best jdrama that i have ever seen. Compelling and interesting storyline, great acting from the casts and king gnu's Nekko ending music all work great together. Just try watching the first episode and i bet you will be hooked. I hope fatemasub is fine and will continue finishing subbing this drama.
First, I would like to thank @heart-ereki for the subs. I and many others here are grateful to you.
Ok, finally done with asadora 'Sakura' and i got some things that i would like to write about. I share the same pros and cons as @huneybomb, especially the seasons showed in this asadora, they were portrayed beautifully imo.
I also believe that the writers did Robert dirty. I seriously did not see it coming. Don't you guys think so too? I wish that they could handle the matter better. The latter part of 'Sakura' really feels draggy, like they don't know what to do to pad the runtime. How many times Sakura has a change of heart? Enough already with the 'will they/won't they' trope. I swear the latter weeks were carried by the supporting casts especially Sawada sensei. Sawada sensei is the mvp of this asadora, lol.
Sorry for the rant, believe me guys, i'm not a hater of 'Sakura', it's just the latter weeks are too frustrating to watch. In conclusion, with its ups and downs, 'Sakura' was an enjoyable watch. I'm gonna miss seeing Sakura acting the alphabets at the end of every episodes. I know she is just a fictional character, but i still want to wish, 'All the best, Sakura sensei!'
I started watching this blind and oh my god! I did not expect to see masami nagasawa in this.
The speech contest storyline was funny and wholesome. I'm glad to see that mr Sawada is deep down, a caring teacher. He got layers, man. Hope to see more of him further in the story.
Week 7 has such a strong and beautiful storyline. Got some teary eyes at the end. Now, onto week 8~
Gonna start this after I finish Asa Ga Kita.I'm seriously in love with Japanese asadoras.
You must watch 'hiyokko' and 'amachan'. If you have the chance to watch these asadoras, i highly recommended them and i'm pretty sure, you will not be disappointed.
Both have great storyline, amazing casts and enjoyable music. The storyline flow is nice, of all 156 episodes, there's not one that feels like a filler or a drag.
And they also do not follow the format of 'from kids, teen and adult'. I don't know why, but i prefer asadoras like this, just focusing on certain stage of their life.
Amano hikaru is the most annoying main characters that i have ever seen in a japanese drama. Busybody to the extreme?checked. Never learn from her mistakes? checked. Emotional? checked. Thank god the other main ladies and supporting characters are cool and awesome. Zero replay value from me.
I don’t get the hate on this remake.. I think it stand out on its own and the acting by Ryoma is great
Yup, just watched ep 1, i think it was solid. Compare to the og korean version that tends to drag and linger on certain scenes, this version flows better or well suited for my taste. I chuckled a bit at the 'dogeza' scene bcoz kagawa teruyuki had a bit similar scene in hanzawa naoki, that dude really loves 'dogeza' lol. Overall. i think this is a solid 8/10 drama.
