I don't get the hate for Wei Shuyu. He basically did what a typical person in real life. Before trying to shoot changge with a non-lethal shot, his only other option was to be killed /entire family killed by hao du.

It seems that you missed the point that Changge did wanted revenge up till ep 14-15. Afterwards, she realize a revenge now would bring down Changgan/Tang and result in massive amount of death to her people.
