Surprisingly slow-paced, I haven't seen the original film, but I wasn't a fan of how the characters were developed (besides Suda's character). Good casting but would consider it a one-time watch. Also a bit predictable on which character would be involved with the cube.
I was surprised when they mentioned covid and how the government handled the zombie virus well. Imagine this being an actual virus after covid. We'd be doomed.
Clear visuals and potential in world-building, however 57 minutes in, the story was anti-climactic.
It would have been nice to see more scenes and obstacles for Kento's character. A bit of a missed opportunity on Pete bot having some action scenes.
I did appreciate the film for having a mystery element to it. For the romance element, I had mixed responses partly because of the age. I believe it would have been interesting if Rin and Riko's role was switched with a bit more backstory to their characters. Kiyohara would have nailed the role of antagonist or antihero based on her role in Switched (also on Netflix).
I had a feeling a lot of people would be commenting on Hira's character. What bothered me with the first episode was how he didn't ask permission to take a photo. While in the cd drama he asked. I believe the showrunners toned down the series to attract more audiences.
I'm also surprised everyone was still able to run without water or food for days.
12 episodes was not necessary for this series. Especially with the amount of duration and story shown overall.

Seems they have changed a few things from the Novel.
