Exactly, it’s getting quite annoying already, I wonder how many good dramas these people are losing for these…
In my country we say "Taste is the smile of the soul; there are souls with bad smiles, that's what makes bad taste."

Uh, since when is 40 considered old? I don't understand these disgusting comments about the actors' looks or ages. Criticism is tolerated when it is meaningful and valuable. An actor must be judged by his acting, and the quality of the work he participates in. I was critical of this drama cause I have some apprehensions because of the 2 writers linked to the project and because I never got to finish the other dramas of the heroine.

What does it matter if an actress is associated with a much older actor? Especially when the actor in question is acclaimed by the critics?

My poor friends, wake up! Talent isn't measured by looks or age, we're not in a beauty contest. Complaining for the sake of complaining is only for children. Return to play in your sandboxes, follow your young heroes with their perfect beauty and let us appreciate the real things in life. For God sake!

I fully understand the comparison between AiB and Sweet Home, the universes are not totally far from each other. This is a struggle for survival. Where Sweet Home does it with a Korean sauce, adding melodrama; AiB does it in the Japanese manga way, adding all its dark and twisted sides.

To be honest in either case I didn't have the same euphoria that many here share. I thought it was pleasant, but nothing more and I feel no curiosity to find out the rest of the stories of each one if ever there is season 2. That's why I gave both of them the same rating.

The concern I had with SH was that the characters were quite caricatured to my taste, it was so déjà vu. We've all met some of them in films or series with a similar universe. The evidence a lot of them reminded me of those on The Walking Dead. Nevertheless the evolution of the characters in view of their story was well done.

AiB reminds me a lot of the psychology of the film Saw, Kill or be Killing. The fast pace and the completely Bizarre side of the story probably made the episodes easier to watch. But you really shouldn't have a problem with gore, because on this side AiB is much more violent than SH, AiB is like watching Tarantino's bloody movie.
The concern I have with it is that I still don't get the message behind, would it be an allegorical staging of the violent competition between human beings in life? Always having hope and faith in yourself? Frankly I still don't know.

So for the moment I have been more touched by the one of Sweet Home, the perpetual struggle that the human has within him against his dark side.

I am one of those people who need to understand exactly what a work wants to divulge as a Message, otherwise it loses interest and remains just another dramas, entertaining but empty.

I am mixed with this drama... When I see CSW I always go for it without hesitation because of the quality of his work so far. But when I see the Writers at the helm and PSH, I have my doubts. Look out! Look out! Let's be clear, if I have trouble with PSH it's because of the choice of her dramas, I dropped all of them except maybe MoA and I always wondered what was the value of her role in it? Concerning the writers, you only have to look at their past projects to understand my concerns.
But I will be optimistic and hope that this drama is going to be their BEST.

Basically the message behind the story is that every human being has a monster within him, but it is up to him alone to fight against it in order to keep his humanity. Moreover appearances are often deceptive, apparent ugliness is not synonymous with Monster. Sometimes behind a monstrous-looking creature is actually hiding the soul of an angel. Every character in the drama tends to demonstrate this. In conclusion, the atrocities committed by many must not kill the little hope and humanity that a handful of other humans are trying to instil in us, on the contrary we can still chose to be a hero or a savior.

P.S Contrary to many I liked the character of Lee Do Hyun, He’s a born leader, he represents another form of courage. The one that go against the group's wishes when the group is only thinking emotionally face a situation that requires to keep a cool head. His way of doing things was not always honorable but sometimes the End justifies the Means.

I decided to listen my sister and finish this drama. Frankly it was hard sometimes, I didn't like it the same way as a lot here but that was still watchable and I did like the message behind.

I was so excited to watch this one, but sadly got disappointed so I dropped it after ep1, couldn't stand their…
I have no problem with CGI, for my part it's not as bad as the CGI of popular Chinese fantasy dramas, a real visual trauma. What rather prevents me from going beyond the second episode is the story. Frankly, it's quite predictable, we more or less know where we're going with this story, and the dialogues are not very sought-after, which further diminishes my interest.
However, my sister who doesn’t like Asian dramas but loves horror cinema told me to persevere because behind this story that I find trivial hides a great lesson of humanity (according to her words). LOL

A resounding Bravo to Team Kairos; I love you and I will miss you so much. I am so sad to know that until your end you did not have the Recognition you deserve. Too bad for them, they will have missed out on the best that kdrama land had to offer in 2020.

You have once again proved to us that the beauty of a drama lies primarily in the quality of its writing and not in the notoriety of its actors. And thanks to you, we've had over 16 hours of happiness.

KAIROS is one of the rare proofs that a drama can remain breathtaking from the first to the last episode and that the presence of each actor from the most important to the least visible can leave an indelible mark on the Spectator.

Maximum respect for key players. SSR let me tell them once again that you are in my eyes the very definition of the real actor. I was once again bluffed by your quality of games. Bravo! Not to mention Nam Gyu Ri who made KHC a despicable character that I will remember for a long time. Bravo! Kang Seung Yoon, Lee Se Young and Ahn Bo Hyun, Bravo! Each of you has made each of my Mondays and Tuesdays a less bitter start of the week.

If only the Korean drama industry would produce more of this kind.

Honestly, if SDM was a real person, and NDS was a real person.I would see it as SDM being an opportunist. SDM…
I think what the writer was trying to convey was that love is not a feeling that can always be rationalized. And on this point she is right, sometimes we love because we just love, we can't say why, nor how, nor when it started, but we can nevertheless recognize our feelings.

The concern that this reasoning is difficult to apply to DM, because at the beginning her character had a very assertive personality, she always knew what she wanted in life. She is someone who took the risk of separating from her mother and sister out of conviction, she is someone who defined NDS letters as her barometer of the ideal man, she is someone who faced the blows of life with strength and conviction.

That's why "I love you because it's you" is hard for many to swallow. But it's something that could have been said by Yoon Hee Jae to Jang Geum Ja in Hyena. From the very beginning of the drama he discovers the scam behind the story, and after having struggled all along against his feelings, having gone through all the stages of his quest for himself, we the spectators finally understood that his feelings were what they are. Even though he had fought against it, love imposed itself on him: he loved her because it was Her that's it.

Those who watched Hyena will understand my reasoning, the development of the characters and the history of the drama would have given reason to such an argument. But that's not possible in Start-up, considering what was sold at the beginning of the drama. I left the drama right in the middle of it but from the different readings I saw that HJP didn't court SDM during the 3 years that NDS was away, this is still a hard story to swallow knowing his personality. When we see how he always said with honesty what he wanted to say; the writer wants us to believe that HJP was a coward who didn't dare flirt with DM for 3 years or was too stupid not to have given up on her when he knew that his feelings were not mutual?

So many aberrations cannot be explained.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this. I think most of the comments in this section are not toxic, just…
That is exactly my point. To criticise? Yes! But always with respect for others. And I repeat it's always in forums with Asian content that it happens. People should stop blaming others every time they make a criticism. Some still feel compelled to justify themselves when their opinion is negative for fear of reprisal. That is not correct. The principle of a forum of exchange it is the distribution of opinions, critics, point of view.

I was set on fire because I dared to say that I have a lot of trouble with Park Shin Hye's drama choices. Excuse me for expressing my opinion, I speak by personal experience, I realized after 3 or 4 dramas of her that I had abandoned them all without exception because the story did not interest me. Again, the crazy fans did not understand that it was not the actress I was attacking but the dramas in which she appeared. We must know how to avoid any amalgam.

That is true, I come from two countries (Gabon and France) where criticism as long as it is justified and respectful is considered not as an attack but as a point of view, which could possibly lead to debate. I repeat that we are all free to give our opinions that this is done once or a million times, the main thing is to always do it respectfully.

In my country we say, "When it is for me it is an Anus and when it is the others it is an asshole" (Excuse the vulgarity of my expression but it is justified). It is for those who feel that they are the holders of good thought by saying of others that their comments are toxic when in fact they do not realize themselves that their condescending attitude is also toxic.

As everyone I read a lot of these comments, and it would be dishonest of me to say that some were not correct in their criticism, it would also be dishonest not to acknowledge that this is actually only 1% of them. On the other hand even though those are often the same who comment I see nothing bad about it, regardless of the ship defended. And where many say TOXIC, I say PASSION. Defending his opinion with PASSION is in no way TOXIC. Being affected by critics and those who write them on the pretext that it irritates you only engages you.

This is something I see a lot in Asian media-related communities, people are personally affected by criticism. I do not understand it, because I know that one of the greatest functions of culture is to provoke debate and criticism. I am entitled to have a critical eye on the play of an actor, since it affects my film experience. It is not the person I criticize but his job, if he does not convince me I am free to say it, just as you are free to disagree with me. The beauty of art is knowing that everyone is right, because the experience is personal. There are Razzi awards for the worst actors and films of the year, and tons of ranking of this type made by prestigious media every year is like that and it will not change. Art arouses criticism. Not everyone will always be on the side of your favorite artist. Learn to live with it!

In one of my previous posts I said that it was important to always make your own opinion, if my experience with Start-up was not at all pleasant, my freedom is to share it, but my responsibility is to leave the choice to everyone to try the adventure and to share in turn his impressions.

PLEASE LET'S US REMAIN RESPECTFUL!!!

Don't trust what you read in Social Media so easily. Sometimes they promote this for publicity.- Gojek was established…
In France we say that we do not argue with an idiot, it means taking the risk of being contaminated by his stupidity.

Grégoire Lacroix said "To succeed in life one can either value one's intelligence or exploit the foolishness of others. The latter solution has the merit of offering a much wider field". And Gustave Flaubert added "Foolishness is something unshakable, nothing attacks it without breaking against it; it is of the nature of granite, hard and resistant". The guy you talk to is proof that everything is so true.

This message is for all those who arrive freshly on this forum and end up asking themselves on whether or not to watch this drama.
I'm a very stubborn person so I like to make my own opinion in any situation, which is why I advise you to still try it.

Is this overrated? For me yes! But It depends on what for you is considered overrated. For my part it is totally like 90% of popular dramas that in my opinion have nothing deep to offer except possibly a well-made Pilot and very popular actors. It's the same feeling I have for DoTS, The heirs and many others. But if that's what you like then it's not overrated at all, because it contains many of the eternal clichés of Korean drama, except in this, for lots of people the second Lead stole completely the show.
Now if like me, the quality is The Light in Your eyes, Sky Castle, Stranger 1 & 2 , Life, My Mister, or the current Kairos then it's definitely overrated.

For info, I dropped this one @ 8 ep and I took much more pleasure in watching Zombie detective than this one and yet ZD was not at all appreciated by many. So make your own opinion!

First of all I want to say that I like your review, even if I don't share your opinion. You've made an effort to explain the reasons for your displeasure. And so it pleases me to see that we have absolutely different views on the matter. And it must be understood that this is neither a revenge drama, nor a time travel drama. The main subject is indeed a race for time in a crossed time drama. No one's looking for revenge on anyone, no one's time traveling.
I'll talk mainly about the woman and the secretary. Did you know that paradoxically from the very beginning of the show I knew they were guilty? Why are you asking me? Probably because I EAT suspense books like candy and like any classic thriller: the suspect is always closer than you think. But also because she did something not very credible, her suicide. No mother would kill herself just because a finger has been identified that presupposes that her child is dead. The human is an animal made of hope, only the corpse of her daughter could have led her to such an act. From the very beginning I realized that it was all a setup. The same goes for the Secretary, his body language already showed all the signs of the traitor. Especially the scene where he tries to rock the disabled father. His argument for making KSJ look like a responsible man was doubly meaningful. And if you had continued the adventure, you would have understood the reasons why these two organized their crime. And it's far from being plot convenience, in my opinion it's very intelligent and above all human. It's not something she decided because she's psycho (well, a little) but because there's a story behind her awful act. And the same goes for her lover, you understand better the reasons that pushes him to go so far, behind that there is still a very human reason. The top two crime motivators in the world: money and love.

Congratulations on your argument, it's worthy of a magazine. Maybe I'm not the good example knowing that I dropped @ 8th episode, I tried to get back on but the interest was already lost, but I want to share some other points that piss me off.
I fully share your message about the progression of success in a career. This drama is Disney-worthy. Many will say that this is a drama and that its job is not to convey reality. To these I say that if the imaginary is enviable, the construction of a story should not lack meaning if even in science fiction certain facts require logic. The fault of Start-up is to have pretended from the very start to be what it is not, a drama which deals with the means of access to success in an Incubator related to Start-ups. Because if that were really the case the writer would have done her homework and done some research. Life doesn't lie about success it's through hard work and if some people still feel that the protagonists of this drama have struggled to get there then I envy their lives.
I would like to add another very annoying fact about the various points you have submitted: the characters. Unlike many, I struggled with the entire Samsan Tech team, especially the arrogant Sa Ha and her beloved Chul San. In their case, I believe that arrogance must be proven by competence and that friendship must not obscure our judgement. They spent their time sabotaging themselves, but always surprised to find themselves in trouble. And to the climax they turned their anger each time on the one who did not stop giving them the right advice.
Another dumb character is SDM. SDM is described in the synopsis like someone who dreams of being a future Steve Jobs. But when you study her character, you realize from the first episode that she is far from wanting to be a Steve Jobs, since her need for success is linked to emotion: Proving to her sister that she was right to follow their father.
When you dream of having this type of success, you make the effort to study the person’s journey and, among other things, to draw inspiration from him. Her character was so inconsistent that until now I wonder if she was really dreaming of success or if she wanted to be saved instead?

PS: Excuse my English, I'm a french speaker. ?
