7.9 what a joke! The same rating as Start-up? And under tge Makjang Penthouse?
Kairos is for those who value quality over popularity and prefer the Script over the Cast in a Drama.Imo This drama is way better than lots of populars drama.
But hey they don't have KSH, LMH, PSJ, NJH in it. I'm sorry to say it but in my eyes SSR has an acting style that many hallyu don't have. So far 4 actors have impressed me by their presence or the play of their eyes: Shin Sung Rok, Lee Kyu Hyung, Cho Seung Woo and Ju Ji Hoon.

Proof of how well written the drama is: the characters developments.
If we take KSJ, he is what in my opinion represents a fine example of what the development of a character is, he is constantly evolving. I think the events of our lives define us constantly, and if we take KSJ of the timeline of AR, you can see the difference between him in the 1st episode and him in the last episode. He is gradually evolving to become who he is now in the future Timeline and it's well done.

A couple of months ago we had many airing dramas with above 9.0 rating, and in my opinion, nothing special about…
I feel you... Every single time I find a drama really well written it's always underrated. And everytime I decide to watch a really hype drama I always feel bored. So as you I must have a very unpopular taste.
Anyway kuddos to Kairos because it's a real Gem...

Yeah, it felt way too rushed.
I think it's because people tend to chose those kind of dramas where the Cast have stellar names etc... For my part I dropped all those dramas cause I didn't find any depth in the story ROY, Start-up and even Itaewon, IOTNBO (Didn't drop it but didn't find the hype behind it). On the other hand I really really really enjoyed those people didn't talk about like Nobody knows, My unfamiliar family, The good detectives, Missing: The other side and the ongoing Kairos.

I was recently watching an interview on a Korean channel about the dramas that are currently hit in Korea and Start-up has been described as a series with mixed success, the dramas with indisputable success are Penthouse and Homemade love story and now The Uncanny. After its final week, on paper "Start Up" isn't much to look at. The drama has consistently hovered in the 5% range for its entire run. It has neither improved nor weakened the profiles of its lead actors Bae Suzy and Nam Joo-hyuk. But their co-star Kim Seon-ho is a different matter. This criticism is due to the low audience rates, which are of paramount importance because of the advertising and other revenues they generate, and also because of the high budget that the drama had contrary to others. And according to one of TVN’s program managers, Stranger 2 was much more successful than Startup on this shot when they had bet on the other side. Stranger had an average rate of 7.5% with a final at 9.5%, where start-up stagnated between 4-5%. But he said Start-up is catching up thanks to Netflix and its international audience, and thanks to YouTube videos where the comments are mostly related to Kim Seon Ho. But the credits are more for Netflix than TVN. Basically, because of the undeniable popularity of the leads in this drama, they were hoping to at least exceed 12%, but even in Korea the message conveyed by the writer didn't attract people more than that.

For my part I will say all the women from Stranger 1 & 2 and Life were extremely well written. Strong and realistic. Among them we have Han Yeo Jin of course but my crush is Oh Se Hwa from Life, sometimes kind, sometimes bad, sometimes petty, sometimes scaring: a real human being.

Contrary to many people, I'm one of those people who are interested in the story before its characters, and let's face it, that was a weak one. So this drama didn't convince me (I don't care about A vs B), that's why I dropped it at the end of the 8th episode.

The first 4 episodes were well done, there was a certain balance between each theme and characters well treated. But then one of the themes, the most boring in my opinion, became central and tarnished the quality of the script. From the beginning of the second episode, we knew who the central couple would be, but because the writer felt that it lacked spice, he said " Hey! forgot about the beautiful bromance that was born between the 2 ML and make them rivals straight out of a romantic novel for Teenager". At that moment everything went downhill, both characters and story. It only made me feel from the 5th to the 8th episode that I was watching the same thing. It was the same thing over and over and over again. And the 2nd FL has become a shadow of a story that's supposed to be about her, too.

"All this to say that the JP equation didn't need to be added to their story, he could have stayed friends with…
Both characters were sabotaged by the writer, who lost the sense of what he wanted to tell us in the beginning or he never knew exactly what he wanted to convey to us as a message. I really appreciated the fact that DS decided to help DM during the first episode, it gave an altruistic, intelligent and romantic dimension to his character, that's why I didn't understand the reason why he made him a pathetic dreamer (Loser) on the pretext that the beginnings of his relationship were based on lies. This aspect of the story could have been written in a mature way without having to make JP a rival. In real life, some relationships begin this way, but with maturity and love things sometimes get better, whether there is a break-up or not. It makes a couple grow up.

" The thing he longed for the most his is to be loved & to experience the warmth of having a family. It may seem ordinary to us but it is a precious dream that even he is not sure if he has the right to dream."

I fully share your opinion, which is why I keep saying that it is not a love relationship that these three need but a stable relationship with themselves. DS but also DM need to learn to love who they are as they are. They need to be in communion with themselves in order to better apprehend a future relationship with others. But JP also has to learn that it's not DM's love that he needs to be completely happy at last, he needs to be free of it. Where JP gains in esteem with me is that he has never imposed himself on them. He told them how he felt but didn't try to get in their way. It's DS and Dm who sabotage themselves. Who knows why? And the writer wants sympathy for their pain when deep down we're not sure why they're making decisions that go totally against what they say they feel for each other. I feel like I'm witnessing a 1st grade child lover's quarrel.

Guys really sorry for my essay but I need to share my POV.
The problem with this drama is when they decided to make JP in love with DM. I can't say it often enough, but this visceral need of Korean writers to romanticize everything often spoils the quality of the drama. If I'm one of those who confirm that JP is the most interesting character in the drama, I don't necessarily agree that he should end up with DM.
The 2 relationships I liked the most during the first 4 episodes were JP and Halmeonie and JP and DS. JP and DS had a very good dynamic, because it was from their meeting that everything came together. They brought a real freshness to the story, they were cute and funny and the author had sold it to us as a potential beautiful bromance. But then the writer got lost along the way and decided that the relationship between DM and DS deserved a Shakespearean outcome, because it wasn't deep enough? Interesting? So he changed DS character 360-degree by taking away all the charming innocence he had in him. The DS we were introduced to was an innocent person who dreamed of success without any pretension, and especially not with the aim of impressing anyone. The writer forgot that DS is the one who braved his insecurities and took the initiative to go to DM because he was touched by her letters and recognized some of him in them. Instead of making it grow once in couple with DM, he made them both regress, especially DS. His dream was no longer to succeed professionally by fighting with his friends and girlfriend to get there. His dream became a person. Everything he was became worthless because now he had only one ambition: to impress his girlfriend. And because DS is someone who had a lot of issues , so much low esteem, and also started a relationship based on lies, he became a Teenager again.
So far DS who is DM's love personified and I don't think that's going to change is no longer interesting to watch IMO.

About the letters written by JP, they are no less important, and are there to validate the relationship between DM and DS; because they represent her PAST, a shelter, a dream, an ideal. Where DS represents her NOW, her passage to adulthood, it is the hand that held her every time she had to face an obstacle, it is the hand that comforted her every time she cried, it is the face she saw when she was finally able to express her feelings. Even this side of the story doesn't have the same impact as it did at the beginning because DM has also regressed. All this to say that the JP equation didn't need to be added to their story, he could have stayed friends with both of them. But the fact that the characters in DM and DS have lost value and quality has made JP shine more brightly. The initial theme was the development of a start-up by novices who are not lacking in envy in the difficult world of investment. Instead, we had a bunch of kids who lost their bearings and were practicing self-sabotage instead of trying to learn. On the pretext that the one who was to help them get there was the potential rival in love with one of them. In France we say "Adversity grows those it doesn't bring down"; let's agree Samsan tech didn't know this. To conclude, given the mess in which this story is set, it would be a bad idea to make JP DM lover's in two episodes near the end. That would sound more like fan service than a real advance in the script. But I don't think that's the kind of relationship these people need. Above all, they need to mature emotionally, to learn to take things into account and above all not to make the other person a sine qua non REASON for their happiness.

I'm truly baffled! Is something wrong with this sites' rating system or is something wrong with the people who…
It's because the audience is essentially female and therefore attracted to anything romantic or Makjang (Penthouse or Start-up vs Kairos or Delayed Justice), the more fluffy the better and if you have hallyu stars in it it's more than perfect. I've learned not to be interested in ratings or popularity because that will never define my choices or the quality of a drama. Most of the dramas that have marked me the most these last 2 years are far from being popular for example Children of nobody, Stranger 2, The Good detectives, My Unfamiliar family, The Light in your eyes and so on...

Is it a popular Chinese fantasy: romance between adopted children? I've noticed that it's very common in their drama... But since it's the kind of thing I'm not comfortable with, I never dare to venture into it.

If JiDal will indeed be the endgame and the author will give them a satisfying happy ending together, would you…
From my part whether it's HJP or NDS, this drama deserves 5/10.... They lost the plot since a moment. We have a so called 2nd FL who on fact appears like a cameo, and the main theme of the plot which count for 5% of the story.

For my part, the only relationships I am interested in are JP and DM's granny, and DM and her sister. There was a lot of exploration in both cases, especially concerning the sisters, how to rebuild a broken bond when it was one of the most important in her life? Instead I'm entitled to a constant feud over who gets the girl? The need for Korean writers to romanticize everything even when their story has more potential than that exhausts me. Just the topic of creating a startup is already broad. Why do we always tire ourselves out with romantic stories?

By the way friends, I can assure you that we can appreciate JP as well as NDS... I am the proof, neither of them is better than the other one. Each has something the other would like to have, JP would like to have had the love that DS has received all his life from those close to him, because it is this love that has facilitated his connection with DM. He realized he was in love with her and went for it without question. And DS, too, in many ways wishes he could be JP sometime, because he represents DM's true past and is the very representation of the future he had made of himself: a confident young man, who started from nothing and who has met dazzling success in everything he undertakes.

Actually, there's no need to fight over them. Basically neither of them should be with the girl, even if it started from a good intention one of them dragged the other into his lie and the other did not correct the shot for fear of losing the girl. It's not a girlfriend they need, it's learning how to improve each other in certain areas. DS should work on his self-esteem, learn how to face real life and be an adult, same for his friends, they should learn it to and act like professional when comes work. And JP should work on his relationship with others, be more open and less harsh even we should admit what he says are sometimes right.

I watched it ongoing so my final review is really late.
Behind each show a logic has to be made; even those who have a scenario called stupid. If I take Zombie Detective for example, the logic of this scenario is to create scenes with very first-degree humor and in a story that still makes sense. It is not enough to throw scientific theories in front of the audience, hoping to confuse our brains and make us swallow any nonsense. I’ll never say it enough the recent Netflix DARK has proved that we can mix several Sci-fi themes and still make it a masterpiece, so sensible that we come to wonder if it comes out of the brain of a human. And that’s where Alice sinned, they wanted to bring us a story as elaborate as Dark in Korean version, hoping that the audience would join without thinking. They forgot that You don't need to be a scientist to be logic.

I decided not start it cause I'm sick and tired of this plotline. Is it a Chinese fantasy to make all the best friends and almost brothers into future lovers? I just dropped another one with the same thing, Something just like this. I realize that during this year I couldn’t watch a Chinese drama till the end, it’s true that I drop a lot of them but I end up finding at least one thing that will please me, but this year, Rien, Nada, Niet, Nothing. . . The last Chinese drama I watched till the end was All is Well.
Writers should reinvent themselves.

I've watched few of them over the last 10 years but the result was the same: DECEIVED. So I decided to never ever try them again.
Everything is one notch below his neighbors. The quality of the script is really from another time, I had the impression to watch each time a very bad version of a telenovela (And I hate telenovelas). The production quality, let's not even talk about it, the rendering was very amateurish, but I must admit that by looking at recent extracts they have improved. In short, Filipino drama is like watching Soap Opera, everything is exaggerate.
