That's exactly it, things seem to contradict each other with every new episode. But that's the problem for me, I can't be interested in anything else for more than a minute because I'm still redoing my math (parallel universe or time travel? Both or time loop?).
So I don't have any real attachment to the characters, I stay because I want the answers to my questions and maybe it's only towards the end that I'll get them.

Title Stranger Season 2 Spoiler
Yes, but at the beginning their jobs place them on opposite sides of an important political issue.
They’re still friends, but they’re distant from each other. I’ll be honest with you, they don’t share the screen for more than half the drama. But it shouldn’t scare you because you’ll understand why.
Besides, completely forget the first season when begin this one, otherwise you risk having the same concern that many here have with this season, it is a completely different story, we tend more in the political thriller a bit like Life. But if you’re like me, you’ll always have so much fun, especially during the last few episodes, where the quality of the script reaches his peaks.

Unlike you I love politics and power games, I love when a drama takes time in its dialogues to better explain the political maneuvers used, like in Life, Stranger 1 & 2, Kingdom or House of Cards.
For 3 years this drama has been highly recommended to me, as being The Chinese political-historical Drama par excellence, and yet like you for 3 years I struggle to watch it till the end. To this day I still haven't gotten past the 10th episode. This week trying again, I finally realized it wasn't for me. On the other hand, I can't really point out what got me the most bored in this drama, the fight scenes? narration? the massive introduction of characters to get lost in it? One thing's for sure, I hate the fight scenes in Chinese historical dramas, I find them too fake (People flying and catching swords with their bare hands? That's a big no no for me).

I blame Dark for my high standards. Instead of just going along with the story and watching how it develops, I…
This is exactly my problem from the beginning, I keep saying that the fact that the functioning of the time travel has still not been properly explained makes the scenario poor and imprecise. Some told me that this was the beauty of the drama, that it added mystery to the scenario. For my part it’s the opposite, it adds too much confusion, proof: each one goes to his theory because in the bottom no one knows how it works. As proof of TY’s and JG’s travels, how did they get back to their date, world, universe precisely? I’m not looking for a clever script like Stranger, but something that doesn’t make you see every two minutes that there are flaws in the script.

The Devil is in the Details
I bet the writer made SM say that phrase on purpose, to remind us of the importance of every detail in the drama. We use this formula as a reminder that every detail counts, that the smallest things matter, that nothing should be overlooked. Because sometimes it only takes the smallest mismanaged detail in a large project to risk causing it to fail completely. It's her way of challenging us to find plot holes in her story. BRAVO!!!! ??????

at which part did that happen? What I know is that JG was just able to track TY when she was already returning…
Some people told me that it was bad editing but after watch it again I realize it was truly what I saw yesterday. So how can make a mistake like that?

Can you track someone's location even if they time travelled to 2021?
That was exactly my concern yesterday; how can an object that is in 2021 be able to emit a real-time signal in 2020?

That's what annoys me like I want to know more about Alice and their timeline. But it's not being explored because…
The trouble with this drama are foundations. These have been very poorly established. Discussing with many here, I was saying that the fact that until now the principle of time travel has not been properly explained continues to create inconsistency in the script. Therefore, in view of the events shown so far, many spectators assumed, as I did, that the principle of time travel was similar to other dramas such as Train or TKEM. In both cases from the very beginning, we understood perfectly how it works. Who was who, and what was their purpose. Train was the best exemple for me. It was simple but concise. Even during the last episode, we understood that we were in another world without having to give us ten thousand explanations. Because the beginning had already done its job well.
So when I saw the SBS video saying that YTH and PSH are two different people sharing the same face it made me laugh, because again they didn't explain anything except to make a recap of the scenes of each one.
That's where they sin: the lack of explanation. Another inconsistent example: the time travel made by YTH and PJG. Why are they found on these exact dates and how does it work? In both cases I saw that they each had a near-death experience, is that the trigger? Or the power of friendship, love and so on? And what about Alice? It would be a shame if they will not properly explain it til the end.

I will never say it enough “All tastes are in nature”; because apparently I am part of a minority that finds no appeal to this drama. And since I never judge a drama to its actors but rather to its creators and I always try to follow at least 4 episodes to make me a real opinion, I decided to throw it into this one because I wanted to see if the scriptwriter’s work had improved since Temperature Of Love, which did not score me in the right direction. Well after 4 episodes, I realize once again that it is not this work that will impress me. The scenario is extremely Déjà vu, that we already know where it will lead us. I'm bored as F$#*. Except FOW, Stranger and Missing, I found the script quality of ongoing dramas extremely poor.

I agree with you about JG, I still think he want to take care of her because he wasn't able to do it with his mother... For him, she is an extension of his mum.

That's my point... why do we always put romance in every drama???? It loses quality, especially when it's unnecessary like in this one. Even if, I repeat, it's to add some comic relief...
I have absolutely nothing against science fiction, that's precisely why I decided to follow this drama. And for the story 2.
But moreover, too many scenes are repetitive, we understood that TY is in danger, but why create situations where we have to save her every 15 seconds?

Lmao, they really went down with that creepy mother & son romance line don't they? Lol, can their relationship…
The second title of this drama is Why make it simple when you can make it complicated? Unlike others, I struggle more and more to take an interest.
We’re halfway through and we’re still on the assumption that:
1° TY 2050 IS/ ISN'T TY 2020
2° Some people want to destroy Alice for ethical reasons?!
3° The weird vibes between the leads It's just there to muddy the waters, that TY is really JG's mother in another universe?

Anyway, Aside that JG is trying to find out who killed his mother, What exactly is the purpose of this show? Why add so much blur to a scenario dedicated to temporal space travel; When we all know how confuse this topic can be???

I just passed out crazy on another forum to have pointed out the weird romantic atmosphere that is created around the main characters. Apparently I’m completely wrong because there’s nothing like that in this episode. Thank God! I’m glad to realize I’m not the only one to see this. I still think it’s to bring a funny side in the drama, but let’s face it, it’s more ridiculous than funny. But above all, it is absolutely not necessary.
