bc they are intentionally being obtuse and that's the worst part to me lol and that's part of the issue with teh responses. they genuinely know what would happen with this or they were privileged enough to be like 'eh whatever' and are not putting out statements to negate this but there is also something to be said about the handling of this would be poor in general from like a radical standpoint (which these activists were. they were radical. and they did not like their government, america, the military, nor the cops. and many were communists, marxists, what have you) there's so many layers to this so even humanizing an agent of a regime and inserting that is a disservice these people did not like The Pigs and. the immense torture and stuff it's just this is so irresponsible culturally, as an artist, and it shows in our responses. it's sad. but they are going to fuck this narrative up regardless it's just a shame that they didnt give themselves a chance to prove themselves and their ideas and lead with that instead of leading with allowing this to happen and taking ZERO responsibility when being asked to reply and evaluate the stupid synopses that /they released/ starting off with "satirical black comedy" like from beginning to end this was a mess that aaaaaaaaabsolutely could have been avoided and fixed when it appeared and they chose not to. like jisoo being cast was already a big deal right and obviously not comparable but these people know what they're doing in terms of outrage marketing of that i am sure and asking people not to make accusations when they're the ones that put it out and refuse to clarify is beautiful. we would have been able to get through it and evaluate the art including its content in the technical piece; i watch shows about cops unfortunately all the time but i can understand the messages trying to be conveyed and what i wish could be done better in the mainstream and the limits of the mainstream and art so it's literally like they put this in their own way. the black panther party's legacy (nor i or many other annoying commies) doesn't love when it's invoked in the name of celebrity and moneymaking even from black celebrities but there's at least the acknowledgement of its core tenets and theyre not even doing that here! idk what im more mad at the stupidity from a production standpoint, artistic standpoint, or crazy commie standpoint ( all 3 i also just realized with more clarity how intentional this all is lmao)

they arent doing due diligence as creators but what's worse is that they are also doing this on purpose. i do not agree that this is all because of the CCP and think that in itself is misinformation and the history of these events needs to be known so i suggest people do their research.

the mere mention of thse people, their names, the time frame, the similarities means that it is exactly an indication of where they are drawing from and we know that as human beings the likeness is there and to tell a story. THEY were the ones that wrote that synopsis so they need to figure it out and, since one of the woman is still alive after she had to move to canada bc her own government along with the US created murderous madness and silenced her and her friends for demanding freedom, has a friend that said this:

this is extremely crucial to get right tbh and all the experts said they do not want to censor the show but that people have cultural responsibility and that these people and companies should be clear to them but many of these places, people, companies, and yes many artists either suck, hav eno integrity, what have you, whatever do NOT CARE and that's the reality. it's the content and misinforming the public about it and allowing a silent narrative to stay or complicity and we know that frankly people are not as interested in the truth or dont have time or whatever.

in america and the way america wants to view our specific brand of slavery it is spun as something of choice, or not that bad, or not as ddehumanizing, genocidal, and life-changing literally it changed the world immensely as it is. we are literally told that and have thigns that imply that. multiple series. human pain and suffering and the authoritarians ruling always do this they minimize and editorialize and obfuscate and the answer is pretty much still denying their responsibility and continuing to tell people that we are divided as human beings and that there is some Other force to get them when it isnt external voices it’s the legacy of slaveyr, capital, imperialism, harm, hatred

on a base level it’s just being a lazy artist and production team especially since they are on cable and can be way more radical and progressive, romanticizing a really horrific time because people do not realize that revolutionaries and revolutions are not glamorous and it takes immense courage, and creates a “complex” area when there is none.

and on a higher level it’s dangerous, truly, because even with this information the talk about why people are objecting becomes more about how people want to “silence others” and their “moral outrage” and the bullshit argument about cancel culture. the woman in this that the actress plays is alive today but, after she had to literally move and flee and years of torture and seeing 100s of thousands murdered by ROK and US support for communist elimination that set us ALL BACK, she got into a car accident, became blind, and is functioning with very little cognitive abilities residing in the countryside and i think maybe she has a son with her. no matter how we slice it it’s just so rresponsible and it could have been fixed but they simply do not care. and their statements about it are so unhe lpful.

i respect the hell otu of the writer, i respect the premise, i like both of the leads and it feels visually age appropriate and that it could be funny AND the name reminds me of my fav show about a civil servant (special labor inspector mr jo!) so this could be some decently progressive innovative fun AND lee sang hee. wow this may be a good year of dramas even though the pandemic is very much still on and the stories really reflect our realities. cool, looking forward. i hpoe they fit each other since though their talent is a bit lacking they have extreme charm and good presence that makes you want to see where it's headed!
