i've been thinking the same about gun. it could be like a tic or something but if he wants to continue he has to do his best to incorporate it. movement and body are a huge part of acting and the lips can do suuuuch a disservice. but if it is something he isn't necessarily like "faulty" of he gets better at acting it can be tolerated and controlled. and not that anyone has to disclose their statuses but if it's a nervous issue (as in his system? idk how things work i didnt pay attn in sceince) it would be good to know as an audience member. that being said he's also just bad the lip thing just makes it worse

omg a playwright! that's so fucking cool! and even in the discrepancies in our mediums you know whatsup with that and in terms of like plays and the physicality of it. plays are so much harder in terms of real time (imo which is why i dont do it) and there's so many moving parts (LITERALLY)! that's really cool that you do that, plays are literally the foundation for filmmakers. thank u stanislavski even if i cant read ur books.

exactly! i was rewatching a show iwth a couple i liked and i was like let me just get the sense for the entire show bc i skipped through it and didnt like teh rest for several reasons. doing that it was way worse than i thought and dampened my experiences. it should not! not only was the content offensive it just made no sense through a story. and romance is that progression, too! i was really exhausted trying to get through it and i ended up skipping through again but it does matter and it should matter. why cant we have a whole experience with a rich world? or this experience within the world they create that makes sense.

i don't know i really dont know. (idk who gets blamed for what in terms of plays but it's a colloborative effort. it doesnt rly excuse such a bad technically managed project. i hate that sometimes, though, that we can't pinpoint the main problem as it's a lot. further down a user and i were talking about who to "blame" per se and the conclusion was rounding back to the director though we know limits and pressures on a show. but i just can't not be critical when every bit of this is mismanaged. everyone failed bc they do the passthroughs and find this acceptable to put out.....)

and that's why if i am not lazy i will dl the eps open my editing program and do pitch/bank scenes pls anticipate in the next 50 yrs.

the show is bad and it's just bad. it can be funny most times, sometimes unbearable, and i want to finish it bc i feel like it and on top of that it makes me think as an artist. i dont hatewatch it because why torture myself? i skip shit i dont like. but the thing is to get a full picture of the show and to understand you really should have more background information. it's up to them to keep my attention and they do not and then the story follow through to the scenes we do like are bonkers. when i'm skipping and can't see an image preview and i end up in a random spot of an episode and see something insane? lmao i was not expecting that

some ppl enjoy torturing themselves OR they watch things an dlike certain aspects but also want to figure out what hte hell went wrong and why the people in the production are failing.

the logic here doesn't make sense. if i am in a movie theater expecting to see a movie i anticipated or a friend wanted to see and we paid for it and i know i absolutely hate it 10 minutes in should i leave? why shouldnt i finish it? i next to never refuse to walk out of a theater cos that's my time and money. the feelings i have are not going to change unless something significant happens afer. and so you stick around either way. i saw les mis and i hated it and i didnt want to see it but i sat there. i took my time, money, friends.

and since you came around to the logic that they like it in some way then yes. they enjoy watching it, thinking, and talking about it. either way these comments cannot land. and who cares. there's 7b ppl on earth. tons of people on this website. that's life. it can be stupid and childish, so what? but most of the people really do explain what they think some of which i disagree. if i do, i'll reply if i feel like it. and there's also ways to make this show /better/ and that comes with critique. like commentary is all sorts.


i will say there are times that it is exhausting to have that negativity but that's in real life, for me, or with people i have a closer bond with. if a friend likes something or wants me to see it and i sit there complaining the whole time i realize that can be messed up. my friend would do that if i sighed a lot or looked unhappy and i realized it genuinely can darken the experience. we can talk that out, i adjust my behavior. but the internet and comments are such intense sections and this is a discussion and review based site. they /need/ engagement to operate and they encourage it. so no matter what, this will be here. either way, we dont always get what we want. but if we look close enough we can see people watch it to watch it and then things go south.

some people want to finish dramas. some want to make fun of them. some are hatewatching but literally also want to watch. a hatewatch shows some investment sure and even people that know what they are getting into with content they don't like and they complain so what? the viewer gets to end that relationship at their volition not spurred by our annoyance. that isnt how anything on earth works. and you're gauging everyone on the same level approaching the show when it's untrue. it isn't just like or dislike. this is literally...what critique is and what artists need.

it's not like i came into this show wanting to hate it. i literally will not watch things i don't want to watch that's too much headwork. not everyone has to be that way idc. i weighed my options bc i've seen cheesy awful shit and enjoyed it when i'm down. i like bank and pitch a lot but we don't have to end every point with a positive. you're puzzled that people keep watching and "complaining"? it's like discussion and critique or just thoughts. they are viewers. and also this is literally some people's jobs.

on top of that for some it just is what it is. in their eyeballs and seeing it and like "girl im here now so i guess ill finish it."

i can genuinely say that i look forward to this show weekly—not tons, but enough—because it's distracted me and let me think during an extremely turbulent time in my life. even the beautiful shots, i haven't been able to do things, my work, or be outside in almost 2 years. going through a lot socially, personally, politically, grief, anger etc. we're all going through a lot in the world because of this fucking thing and life. this is silly but there's ltitle joys in the show. i love seeing the scenery and openness of thailand it makes me feel better. it's so gorgeous. that's something small but hey that's good and that's why i like the production design. i may go take a hike now!

it's not black and white and it just doesn't matter why people do things. you don't HAVE to like it and you can say something. and we can disregard those people. it's myopic. i go into more below but it doesn't matter. alternatively, you can say whatever you want to say as well. it's just a disproportionate understanding, to me, of what others perceive and then being annoyed, for other users upset, calling it bashing or bullying or whatever the fuck. telling them not to wathc. that's not how life works and it sure as hell isnt how art works. and, again, no artist doesn't want to be taken seriously at some point. it's a farce to think that lol.. the on top of THAT it has progressively gotten worse compounding every issue. fine it's not serious but they daaaamn sure better make these edits tight and the production well done with their resources and they can't even do that. incompetence

oh and omg ok so an atrociously made show i like that is a thai bl is called the best twins and it is obscenely low budget and translated so poorly. but i love it and in comparison this truly isnt low budget. those locations and those cameras? there's some money involved and the sponsorships! the best twins was a shitshow and had like next to no money and i love every horrible minute of it. for this they got mad money in comparison and them dumb PPLs. those breath wpray shots is generating something some income and they can't do that well at all ugh im shivering thinking about it. plus i guess gun is popular (?) since they attached a big (?) name to it. dont let hem fool us!

ive had 5k just to make a short film, my first longform one (for my thesis), 3 years ago and it's not stellar but i can guarantee it's better than this. and so many cheap productions from school (or cheaper), straight up no money, literal obstacles they put in our way (one film we couldnt record with sound, we had like 200 pounds, i filmed it in my house lmao and all the other prductions for the project we had to really push ourselves it was so confusing but a good thing to learn. and someone even lost all their footage and had it ruined but he still made a beautiful project. and i hate that dude lmao ) they introduce these challenges so we can get what to do! what obstacles will come, how we can get around the obstacles, and also the basics to understand the importance of certain aspects of filmmaking.

having a low budget is frustrating but we can do so much. alternatively, i've been on bigger budget sets and...the product hasssss been so bad. but, again, better than this by miles. and when i mean bad i mean like. bad. but there's dedication for the craft that i cannot deny because that same person grew. NOTHING will ever be perfect and there's always room for change. a product is never ever finished but the thing is we work around the problems and try to eliminate what we can catch. and then do better next time. simply the editing could elevate it or an acting coach or the beginnings of the script could be better. they could have like edited it? the script i mean since that is an insane component of it sconception. however the editing has the footage as we can see and theyre just like "man yes i dont feel like doing this." the crew doesnt get paid as much and maybe the editor isnt getting paid as high as they want and they dont give a shit. it's possible lmao i've done that before (which is not good!!) and then a script supervisor could be on set to make sure there's continuity. the director...his assistant director.........

...all of that is basically next to nothing in terms of monies.

in terms of the girl above, their next project was fresh and it was really elevated. because they avoid the pitfalls of the first time. not my type, but stretching the imagination with the resources and feedback (and that girl got money but she was using it to make what she wanted! and you still cant self-fund this completely theres no way even a moderately rich person could) and they definitely had less budget. she made a webseries and used her friends, available locations, simple spaces and shots, and the episodes had to be short. they got what they needed and i was shocked at how much i enjoyed it. i went to go check she did 10 mins for 6 episodes. great se of time and budget in each.

the fact that this show is 45m an ep for 8 eps even means they got some money than all those scenarios. plus on the other shoots she had no PPL (i mean she wouldnt bc we are pretentious) but you know what i mean? i hope this makes sense. not all art is comparable but i think when you enter the omre serious arena it's a failure to not do your best.

i give all those examples to say it's possible. and also this isnt low low budget. and i am jealous.

that being said...i wont say that this director and the crew cannot get better but idk. there's something off about this. ugh i am having trouble articulating this. it's just bad lol. they have $ so it really comes down to if they cared? even if it was a passion project we can see the charm. i don't know maybe im thinking too hard from a technical perspective. i wish i had this low budget for my film. they could even make a feature with this. i wonder how much this cost actually...

i am ~bashing~ but they have some good stuff in there like honestly. honestly ur not ur being funny and ur watching the show!! these things matter.

the production is GORGEOUS. that house is beautiful! a nice camera, some decent coloring, the scene with pitch and bank on the street still stands out to me. it was crisp, a beautiful night, well-lit, and well done in terms of the storyline. there's not many times of these but it's obvious there's capability. and thailand is so fucking beautiful so they capture that well. there's merits but then it just gets bogged down cause it's like...there's no direction.

oh another example that beautiful beautiful beautiful set up of them on the moat in the wilderness at night. that show some sort of capability so wtf! to me it shows laziness and a rush. and the pandemic is a big deal but that's why ew could slow down with production but atp the pandemic isn't an excuse if companies choose to film.

the editing is so bad sometimes and maybe it's the action but when it's done right it's exciting! i really love the scene i mentioned above. and like you said, the logistics of it. bad movies or tv have that marker where you're like why are these decisions being made? and hten it is pretty serious sooo. but how can we take it seriously when ur drowning in 2ft water. ppl drown all the time they couldnt have made it more realistic also how did he even fall in the pool again? lmaoand we as audience members try to let it go but there's only so much more we could take. i was like u literally like "u know what fine his ass could have drowned fine it's fin i wont question" but looking back.....why god?!??! and that matters! there's tropes and then there's just ignoring reality. the trips and falls are fine but dorwning in a frickin shallow pool and he's a bodyguard. did the dad never let him in water? if sky is drowning then i guess he's just fucked lmao

(or idk sry idk ur profession ahhaha) i was not expecting that at all???? they have a nice camera, set up, everything. clearly some budget. why this?? but tbh the first shot of the first episode was overexposed and atrocious so i shoulda known. also WHY did they have three episodes starting in 720p. my only estimation is that they actually didn't export it properly.

ok i got you. this is a common complaint on this website so i try to reply to them when i see it particularly in conjunction with the implication that others may not understand something or others like to just complain or that viewers know nothing. because it's pervasive attitude online and in fandom and it makes discussion and critique so singular. the idea that anything against the grain or not particularly the way others want it or not "constructive" criticism...it doesnt matter.

i know it is annoying and confusing to see—there's some shows that are sacred to me but i always want to know just why we arent seeing eye to eye. there's one show where i think so many people missed the point and it genuinely made me confused but i just chilled. responding to those i think or fun or want to tell me more. and it's widely revered. there's another show that is terrible that i love and i say the same thing: guys it's charming! but i know exactly why people don't like it and it would be a lie to pretend that they had no reason to.

so outside of that it's really confusing to me that people say this because it's just not personal and this is what the site is made for. i understand the annoyance and confusion component but we /do/ understand the show and idk. my thoughts are the same. it is not aggression nor bullying. like genuinely i am having fun discussing this.

also i think i figured out some of the issue with that scene....they meant to show that he was jumping off that wood plank and then shortening his time in the air but no one can edit. so they messed up stepping onto the plank and then couldnt transition. it's an easy fix but...you could literally tell and you knew where the strings of the harness were. ..i was rly like wow thats uhhhh hm. why did i go to film school with this genius out there

yea and most of us are making fun of it it's just a mess. and it's bad. if you cannot handle any criticism and it upsets you that is on you. i love to have fun that's why when he "bicycled through the air" as another user put it below, it is the funniest thing on earth.

the issue is it takes itself seriously and has a plethora of production issues that are certainly unintentional to make it even funnier. you can't deny that this show is supposed to be serious at points especially with that music and drama. it's like baked in and it's their fault for making it even funnier sorry
