this company/production did this INTENTIONALLY, as they always do. this industry (in every country) is a cesspool that loves labor violations and trafficking and they are now parading around this incredibly young man (boy) and making him do apology tours for them. instead of doing a proper casting they decided to be lazy and do a whole-ass lie and workaround because they wanted a young boy with a specific look and plenty of talent. when i saw it for the first time i was like he looks young hopefully not too young AND LO AND BEHOLDDDDD :(

ugh they were soooo cute together but i felt like they got together too fast which broke some of the tension for me. lingling is....i could look at her all goddamn day. together theyre so beautiful. acting ok and could be improved but with more work they'll get there. hope to see another series where they get to have more tension over what feels like a more substantial period of time. something kept missing for me but i think cos i love it when it takes ppl ages to get together i'm realizing lmaooo

because this is his job. because those are adults and he was probably 17. he's talented but is there some reason they needed this actor specifically? it's called wanting a specific look and a specific type of person to control for their job. we live in a world where people, typically men, do this CONSTANTLY so there's a real reason of concern. he needed his /parents permission/ obviously he's not a completely autonomous human being and even those of us who are much older are also not autonomous beings. there's reasons for these rules in place and also for our discomfort which has been explained. this is unacceptable. it's over and it's done but it was absolutely done on purpose and was unacceptable. you all are having the normative position of what people in media do; take advantage and coerce.
